We’ve got another great trailer for you to watch for Joe and Anthony Russo’s upcoming Syfy Channel series Deadly Class. This one starts off with Nancy Regan sharing her “Just Say No” speech to the youth of America before diving into completely craziness. This show looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun to watch!
Deadly Class is based on the Image Comics property created by Rick Remender and Wes Craig. I I've enjoyed everything that I've seen from the series so far and these latest spots make it look like it's going to be a lot of fun. This is the synopsis:
The series is set in a dark, comic book world against the backdrop of late 1980s counter culture. It follows a homeless teen recruited into a storied elite private school where the world’s top crime families send their next generations. Maintaining...

As a kid growing up in Harlem, “Snowfall” actor Amin Joseph remembers seeing rumblings of what would grow into the crack cocaine epidemic: parks and school yards that had become places where people would do or sell drugs. This wasn’t something that hit him until years later. Yes, he participated in jokes about people being “crackheads” and was surrounded by Nancy Regan’s “Just Say No” campaign — but Joseph said he wasn’t cognizant. Even when he stepped on a crack pipe when walking home from school, he didn’t think much of it. “I do remember those times when I wasn’t aware,...

Both of the Siodmak brothers made indelible contributions to genre filmmaking, particularly Robert Siodmak’s sterling film noir titles. His brother, Curt Siodmak was more recognizable as a screenwriter, penning a variety of B horror titles such as The Wolf Man (1941) and usually assigned to pen sequels to a number of other franchises, such as The Invisible Man, Dracula, and Frankenstein. Oddly, his 1942 science fiction novel Donovan’s Brain would receive three separate cinematic adaptations of its own (including The Lady and the Monster in 1944 and The Brain in 1962), all informed by particular topical elements of the decade they were mounted in, though none of them particularly astounding in their rudimentary illustrations of science gone wrong.

London, Oct 5: Two-time Oscar-winning actress Jane Fonda is all set to receive American Film Institute's lifetime achievement award, which is one of the highest honours in Hollywood.
Chairperson of the AFI board, Howard Stringer said in a statement that the 75-year-old actress is American film royalty, the BBC reported.
Jane, who has recently been seen in HBO drama The Newsroom and as Nancy Regan in Lee Daniels' The Butler, rose to fame in the 1960s with films including 'Period of Adjustment' and 'Walk on the Wild Side.'
She is also known for protesting against the war in Vietnam in the 1970s.
It is worth noting here that the actress' father Henry Fonda was also handed the AFI's highest honour in 1978.

"Friday Night Lights" star Minka Kelly is set to play former First Lady Jackie Kennedy in the new film, "The Butler." Director Lee Daniels tells Screen Daily why he chose the project, which centers on Eugene Allen, the White House butler who served eight presidents.
Daniels says, "I connected with it because it is ultimately a father son story with a civil rights backdrop. In my lifetime there were separate water fountains, swimming pools and toilets for blacks. People forget that. This is such an exciting journey for me."
Forrest Whitaker will star as Allen, Oprah Winfrey as his wife, Mathew McConaughey as John F. Kennedy, John Cusack as Richard Nixon, Alan Rickman as Ronald Reagan and Jane Fonda as Nancy Regan.
What do you think of the choice of Kelly to play Jackie? Can she pull off a role like this? Will it be better than Katie Holmes? Leave your thoughts below.

Just because Jane Fonda is a politically active Democrat doesn't mean she can't portray someone from the opposite side. According to Variety, the 74-year-old actress is set to play former First Lady Nancy Regan in the upcoming film "The Butler." Directed by Lee Daniels ("Precious"), the film follows White House butler Eugene Allen and the 34 years he spent working at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Forest Whitaker is currently in talks to play Allen, with Oprah potentially playing his wife. Liam Neeson and John Cusack are being considered for the presidential roles of Lyndon B. Johnson and Richard Nixon, respectively. As the Hollywood Reporter pointed out earlier this month, "[Eugene] Allen started at the White House as a 'pantry man' in 1952, when blacks weren't allowed to use public restrooms in his native Virginia. He ended up serving eight presidents and had a unique front-row seat as political and racial history was mad." "The Butler" currently has no release date.

Trailers are an under-appreciated art form insofar that many times they’re seen as vehicles for showing footage, explaining films away, or showing their hand about what moviegoers can expect. Foreign, domestic, independent, big budget: I celebrate all levels of trailers and hopefully this column will satisfactorily give you a baseline of what beta wave I’m operating on, because what better way to hone your skills as a thoughtful moviegoer than by deconstructing these little pieces of advertising? Some of the best authors will tell you that writing a short story is a lot harder than writing a long one, that you have to weigh every sentence. What better medium to see how this theory plays itself out beyond that than with movie trailers? Tatsumi Trailer "Yoshihiro Tatsumi is a mangaka known for his gekiga style of alternate Japanese manga." Wish I knew what that meant. Director Eric Khoo...

Los Angeles, California (X17online) - Zsa Zsa Gabor and hubby Prince Frederic Von Anhalt are putting their gorgeous Bel Air mansion up for sale; due to the outstanding medical bills the pair is forced to pay after Gabor underwent leg amputation surgery recently. The 93-year-old actress' ninth husband told the media he made the decision on Saturday, when his wife returned home from the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center after having her surgery. Prince Von Anhalt revealed to the Los Angeles Times: "The upkeep alone per month on the house is $35,000. It gives me a big headache, and I cannot afford to keep paying it." That's a lot of dough the pair could use for medical bills, so we can see why they're letting the mansion go after so many years. The place also has a ton of history. Von Anhalt reveals: "Ronald Regan was sitting here, Queen Elizabeth was sitting here,...

Surely you've heard the latest "Look How Outrageous Black People Are" news story that has been making the rounds. Apparently, 90 girls at a high school in Memphis are or have been pregnant this year. This makes up about 20% of the school's female population. To address the issue, Memphis City School officials will start the "No Baby" campaign on Jan. 20. The campaign, literally the pregnancy equivalent of Nancy Regan's "Just Say No!" initiative against drugs in the '80s), will be run by Girls Inc., an organization that's been helping girls in Memphis improve their self-esteem...

Chelsea Clinton wearing Oscar de la Renta to the School of American Ballet's Winter Ball in New York City, March 5, 2007. From PatrickMcMullan.com. Now that Chelsea Clinton has announced that's she's engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Marc Mezvinsky, who will design the bridge-to-be's wedding gown? If family ties have anything to do with it, then all signs point to Oscar de la Renta. Until Jason Wu came along, Oscar had all but been elected the District's official dressmaker. De la Renta designed Laura Bush's 2005 inauguration gown and Jenna Bush Hager's 2008 wedding dress, and he’s outfitted Nancy Regan too. But it's a closet full of Oscar that has made Chelsea's mom, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, one of Hill's haute dressers. Not only did Hillary select a shimmery gold long-sleeved Oscar gown for the inaugural balls after Bill Clinton’s swearing-in in 1997 (the First Lady turned to...
