- Daughter of Richard Pryor and Shelley R. Bonus, astronomer/writer.
- Rain suffered from drug abuse for many years, but got herself clean in 1993. She has since acted as an addiction counselor and spoke at high schools about her past battles with drugs and alcohol addiction.
- Father was married and divorced 6 times. She has three brothers and two sisters.

She wrote, created, and co-produced her show, including adding some of her own original music and lyrics to the production. (2004)

- Was in rehearsals for her one-woman experience, said to open in New York by fall 2004. The show is based on the life of the actress. It's a hero's journey from the standpoint of a person born into a world of "US vs. Them"--but not quite an "us" and not quite a "them."
- Currently in Los Angeles in rehearsals for her solo show and completely the final pre-production on her CD of Standards (March 2004)
