An unexplained series of events occur on a Vegas tram; unexplained until the CSIs are on the case, that is. Nick (George Eads) returns from Hawaii after a seminar to find the joke's on him. The new boss, Db Russell (Ted Danson) lies on the tram floor and Nick thinks he's just a Db, which he is. Db by name, but not a real Db! Nick's reaction to his name, his initials is exactly what I thought when it was revealed who Ted was going to play in the show. Db as many know stands for 'dead body.' The others can only laugh and disappear. Nick isn't too happy to be the butt of their joke and he and Db don't really seem to hit it off - not like Nick and Ray (Laurence Fishburne). Two people were killed on the tram and three were injured. One Vic, Tom (Nathan Anderson) was stabbed.

Matthew Modine: Better Angels
By
Alex Simon
Matthew Modine has been something of an iconoclast most of his working life. After being groomed for ‘80s teen idol status in early films such as Private School and Vision Quest, Modine was also one of the first actors of his generation, along with Sean Penn, to take on riskier projects, such as Robert Altman's Streamers, Alan Parker’s Birdy, Gillian Armstrong’s Mrs. Soffel, and Alan J. Pakula’s Orphans. It was his lead role as the cynical Marine Private Joker in Stanley Kubrick’s Vietnam epic Full Metal Jacket that put Modine into the pantheon of young actors who were more than just pretty faces and knowing winks at the camera. This, after all, was the young man who turned down the lead in Top Gun, arguably the prototypical ‘80s blockbuster, due to its cold war politics. From the beginning,...

Luke Macfarlane has a lot of words vying for brain space these days. In addition to his regular stint on ABC's Brothers & Sisters, he's portraying F. Scott Fitzgerald in The Jazz Age, a new play that takes us inside the mind of the famed author, at Los Angeles' Blank Theatre. "Scott's basically on the stage the entire time, so I have all these lines in my head," Macfarlane says. On Brothers & Sisters, "we were shooting a scene the other day, and I'm supposed to walk into an apartment and say, 'You're home!' And of course, the line 'You're late!' came out of my mouth, which is one of my first lines in the play." Still, Macfarlane is thrilled to have the chance to do TV and theatre simultaneously. "In a play, you're constantly trying new things out," he says. "What I really love about the theatre is that...
