As of this writing, there have been well over 400 WrestleMania matches since the event began back in 1985. Since then, countless WWE wrestlers (and even a couple celebrities) have battled it out in so many different ways and with quality that runs the gamut from unwatchable to undeniable. In what is supposed to be WWE’s biggest annual show, some matches fall short, but others rise to the occasion and put together some unforgettable performances.
But today we’re celebrating the very best matches WrestleMania has ever offered wrestling fans. But first, some ground rules. First, as there are so many WrestleManias to cover, we are only going to allow one entry per event. The modern shows with two nights of festivities will only count as one combined event. Second, to keep things from becoming repetitive, there will be no match redundancies. If two wrestlers battled it out in multiple WrestleManias,...

The release date for WWE 2K24 is getting closer, and fans have been waiting to get their hands on it. The upcoming title will also include a 40 Years of WrestleMania edition, so fans can look forward to reliving some iconic matches. The roster for the game is also looking good, with several returning characters joined by a few surprise entries.
Among them, however, fans have noticed the absence of one superstar, leading to a lot of confusion, especially as the Showcase mode is filled with former WWE legends, so missing out on this particular superstar makes little to no sense, but that could still change before the game is out.
WWE 2K24 Showcase Matches Could Still Feature This Superstar

In November of 1993, writer/director John Lafia (Child’s Play 2) unleashed Cujo Cocaine Bear (great punk band name) upon the world with Man’s Best Friend. In the movie, a Tibetan Mastiff named Max 3000 is released from a genetic research facility by a reporter named Lori (Breakfast Club’s Ally Sheedy) while trying to expose a company for their cruel experiments on animals. We eventually learn that while Max might look like the best boy ever, he has a lot more in common with Wesley Snipes’ Simon Phoenix character from Demolition Man than he does Lassie.
While in the lab’s care, Max has been experimented on and genetically enhanced with the DNA of a slew of dangerous animals. For example, if threatened he can camouflage himself with the colors of your garage and hide there like a chameleon before deciding to pop out and bite your dick off. He has super strength,...

Southern Charm Season 9 was filled with ups and downs, with the biggest storyline featuring the quadrangle of Shep Rose, Taylor Ann Green, Olivia Flowers, and Austen Kroll.
It seemed to overtake the entire season at every turn, which also happened during the two-part reunion.
Shep had a tough season, especially after everything between Taylor Ann and Austen. They had broken up after Season 8 wrapped, and she was still angry with him during the Season 8 reunion and when Season 9 began filming.
While he didn’t necessarily show it throughout the season, it was brought to light during the reunion that Shep had some heartbreak over the sleepover at Austen’s house, where Taylor was hanging out.
Andy Cohen asked Shep to lead the toast as they closed the reunion, and surprisingly, he dished out some wisdom (even if he was wearing his tin foil hat).

However, one of these returning fan favorites got eliminated before reaching Final Jeopardy, much to the surprise of online fans. Before the first break, we got an impressive Macho Man Randy Savage impression from host Ken Jennings, thanks to the Pro ‘80s Wrestling category, as well as an early lead for Andy with $5000. However, once the mid-game interview ended, Katie raised her score from $2,800 to $5,400, especially after scoring a true Daily Double beforehand. Through its first six seasons, identifying who voiced one of the many aliens, critters, or goobers on Rick and Morty was a pretty easy thing to do. That’s because, in addition to performing as the titular lead characters, co-creator Justin Roiland also embodied most of the show’s strange background players.
Following season 6, however, Roiland was fired from the series due to receiving domestic battery charges (later dropped) and multiple allegations of sexual assault. With Roiland gone, multiple actors have stepped in to fill the roles of Rick, Morty, and the whole other host of characters from the Adult Swim hit’s increasingly large constellation of galaxies, timelines, and multiverses. Even without the personnel change midway through, Rick and Morty‘s cast of voice actors was already pretty confusing beast to make sense of. So let’s try to do exactly that.

After a nearly six-month search that featured thousands of candidates, newcomers Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden now find themselves squarely in the spotlight after they officially made their debut as the voices of the narcissistic, alcoholic genius Rick (Ian Cardoni) and his bumbling grandson Morty (Harry Belden), respectively, in the season seven premiere of the Adult Swim animated hit.
Sunday’s premiere marked the first episode of Rick and Morty without co-creator Justin Roiland, who until now had voiced both characters (among others) for all of the show’s 61 previous episodes. Roiland was fired from the cult hit and saw his Hollywood empire implode after allegations of domestic violence surfaced and reports, including in The Hollywood Reporter, uncovered years of his allegedly troubling behavior. An Orange County District Attorney dismissed the domestic violence charges, citing insufficient evidence, and has also denied new allegations of misconduct that range from sexual harassment to sexual assault.

WWE 2K23 features quite a few improvements to the franchise formula that will certainly be welcomed by wrestling game fans everywhere. Of course, some things never change, which means that WWE 2K23 still makes you unlock quite a few wrestlers via gameplay accomplishments and by spending both real and virtual currency.
The very good news is that WWE 2K23 makes the various unlock processes fairly painless. The problem is that the game doesn’t always do a great job of telling you exactly how to unlock those wrestlers or the best way to go about acquiring all of them. Hopefully, we can help ease that part of the unlock system just a bit.
How to Unlock Every WWE 2K23 Wrestler With Virtual Currency
The vast majority of wrestlers in WWE 2K23 are unlocked via the game’s Virtual Currency (Vc) system. Every wrestler available via the in-game store costs 1,000 Vc to unlock.

It bears remembering that Night Court judges are all a little wacky.
Night Court Season 1 Episode 7 substitutes Abby's sunny, good-natured wisdom of Solomon with the questionable cognitive abilities of Judge Flobert. In Abby's absence, things get a little out of hand as the inmates take control of the madhouse... er, courthouse.
And Judge Stone proves here that she can mete out justice anywhere, especially when her prosecutor's having an anxiety attack and needs something she can control.
It says something about Olivia's will to thrive that she can grab onto a lifeline, even when it's thrown by someone she finds incredibly annoying.
Not only does she fall in with Abby's decision to hold court on a stuck subway car, but she is also genuinely invested, as always, in besting the opposing counsel in the case, although that means besting herself here.
Abby's country mouse perspective seems a little overplayed at times.

The wrestling world has lost another legend with the death of WWE’s “Leaping” Lanny Poffo. The 68-year-old’s cause of death is not known at this time. Poffo, a Canadian-born American citizen, began his wrestling career with the All-South Wrestling Alliance in 1974. He won a Tag-Team Championship alongside his father, Angelo. The younger brother of the late Randy Savage, Poffo’s wrestling career was highlighted by a victory over Hulk Hogan. The WWE paid tribute to Poffo on their website, writing, “Arriving in WWE in 1985 alongside his brother, ‘Leaping’ Lanny Poffo was one of the first high-flyers in WWE. While he achieved some success as a fan favorite reading his own poetry and throwing Frisbees to the crowd, he reached new heights as The Genius while managing Mr. Perfect [Curt Hennig]. WWE extends its condolences to Poffo’s family, friends and fans.” Lanny’s last Instagram post appears to...

This post contains spoilers for "Black Adam."
Following their careers in the squared circle, many professional wrestlers make the jump to acting in Hollywood. From Andre the Giant and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper starring in classics like "The Princess Bride" and "They Live" to Dave Bautista and John Cena being a part of the Marvel and DC universes respectively, wrestlers are scattered all over cinematic history. However, no one has achieved the same level of success in this arena as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
Clearly, the former WWE Champion is in high demand. His life story is airing on NBC as a sitcom called "Young Rock," which is about to begin its third season. He's been a part of franchises like "G.I. Joe," "Jumanji," and "Fast & Furious." Johnson has even played demi-gods twice thanks to his roles in "Moana" and "Hercules." But in his latest role as the titular character of DC's "Black Adam,...

Please be advised that in the interests of maintaining contemporaneous consistency I will be referring to WWE as WWF throughout this article. This clarification should prevent you from imagining giant men in spandex fighting pandas for money.
On August the 29th 1992 the WWF came to Wembley Stadium for its annual SummerSlam. It was the first time the organisation had strayed outside the States for an event of this scale, and the reason was purely financial: Vince McMahon and his backers realised that while enthusiasm for the sport was waning – or at least plateauing – in the US, fans in the UK were in the fevered grip of Wrestlemania, Hulkamania, and – perhaps most crucially of all – Gladly-Spend-Thirty-Pounds-on-a-Giant-Foam-Finger-amania. The WWF’s instincts proved correct: the first round of tickets for SummerSlam sold out in five minutes, and the event helped to shift over a million pounds in merchandising. UK fans would do anything...

The Amazing Spider-Man movies were practically born to fail. The genesis of the first movie—where we would watch another Peter Parker origin story—was already deemed a bad idea among many fans when it was announced, and Sony didn’t change any minds over the next few years. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was a mess and while it made money, it didn’t make the kind of money Sony wanted and all the big plans for a sequel and beyond fizzled. Next thing you know, there’s a Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and he has his own Disneyland ride. The Marc Webb era of cinematic Spider-Man is thus a doomed duology sandwiched in-between the iconic Raimi Trilogy and the one who gets to hang out in the world-conquering superhero film franchise.

Cody Rhodes made his return to WWE on Saturday night at WrestleMania 38, coming back to the promotion that he famously exited nearly six years ago.
In that time, Rhodes has wrestled all over the world and was integral to the founding of All Elite Wrestling (Aew), the rival wrestling promotion run by Tony Khan. Rhodes was a top star onscreen and an executive vice president offscreen in Aew, but he left the company in February 2022 after failing to come to terms on a new contract.

NBC’s “Young Rock” just got some pretty grown-up Nielsen numbers from its series premiere. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s sitcom topped 5 million total viewers on Tuesday. Immediately following, Kenan Thompson’s “Kenan” debuted to more than 4 million viewers. “This Is Us” at 9 didn’t disappoint either. NBC finished first in the key ratings demo last night, but finished second in total viewers to a trio of CBS reruns. Also Read: 'Young Rock' Casts Its Vince McMahon and 'Macho Man' Randy Savage NBC was first in ratings with a 0.8 rating/5 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and second in total viewers with an average of 4.1 million, according to preliminary numbers. “Young Rock” at 8 p.m. landed a 0.9/6 and 5.034 million viewers. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s autobiographical NBC comedy “Young Rock” has found its Vince McMahon in comedian Adam Ray, TheWrap has learned. Additionally, the role of “Macho Man” Randy Savage is being played by Kevin Makely, we’re told.
Ray, who voiced Slimer in 2016’s “Ghostbusters,” will play the future WWE Chairman as he worked his way up the ladder in his father’s pro-wrestling promotional business. Makely, who starred in 2019 western “Badland,” is a spot-on casting as one of the WWF’s most colorful characters.
Below are character descriptions for McMahon, Savage and the rest of the main wrestlers this side of Dwayne’s own dad Rocky Johnson (played by Joseph Lee Anderson). Find our first-look photos of Ray as McMahon and Makely as Savage at the bottom of the post.

I’d like to think that it’s widely accepted that 1990s animation was very good to comic book superheroes. We had a genre-changing Batman: The Animated Series, the deep and socially relevant X-Men: The Animated Series, and two expanded cartoon universes that came out of each one. But there was one superhero cartoon, neither DC or Marvel, that sticks out to me for being a bit underused and well before its time.
I want to take a second to talk about the Justice Friends.
The original two-season run of Dexter’s Laboratory not only focused on the main misadventures of the boy genius and his bratty sister Dee Dee, but it had two side-cartoons that popped up here and there. One was Dial M for Monkey, where it turned out Dexter’s lab monkey was secretly superpowered and spent his time fighting world-threatening enemies behind Dexter’s back. The other was the Justice Friends,...

To condense the career of Jim Ross into a single article isn’t easy. The man has been the voice of pro-wrestling for so many of us for such a long time, it’s hard to truly highlight how much he means on an emotional level, but also… he’s done so much in the business too, as an announcer at ringside, but also behind the scenes, working with talent and even assembling one of the most stacked and incredible pro-wrestling rosters in history. Still, I’m a glutton for punishment, so I’ll at least try to talk about his career, highlighting some of the, well… highlights, whilst also urging you to check out Jim Ross’s books, Slobberknocker and Under the Black Hat, for an in-depth and entertaining glimpse into the life and career of the man himself.

So, the WWE Championships, the main titles in the company, are what we all look to as the height of being a star in wrestling. Whether it’s the WWF Championship, the World Championship or the Universal Title, the top of the business hold that belt, and often act as the face of WWE. So, with all the Champions we’ve seen throughout history there have been some that have achieved such legendary status that they would appear on the Mount Rushmore of the greatest Superstars in the business. We’ve also seen a whole bunch of others who have been, shall we say… not so good. Now, I’m not starting this article concept as a way to be cruel or to bury people, but rather to give two sides to the coin. Conversations about good and bad get us talking, discussing, agreeing and disagreeing, and that’s what this is all about.

When I think of guys in pro-wrestling who are unsung more than perhaps they should be, who have given countless memories over decades and who still manage to get in the ring and tell stories that will always be relevant and stirring, I think of Dustin Rhodes. When I began watching pro-wrestling in 1992, at just nine years old, I saw Dustin Rhodes working as “The Natural” in WCW. Since then he’s pretty much been a constant in the business, and one of those guys I always love to watch.

So during this whole awful quarantine situation I’ve found myself watching even more wrestling than before. In the midst of all that wrestling has been my revisiting of lots (and lots) of 90s WWE stuff. I started watching pro-wrestling in 1992 with WrestleMania 8 and so I have many delightful wrestling memories of the 90s, from the early cartoon-era stuff that also featured some of the best ever like Bret Hart and Randy Savage to the beloved and creatively incredible Attitude Era. I thought, then, that it would be neat to bring a list to you guys of the ten best matches of the 90s that you should revisit during lockdown. The problem with that is the sheer amount of matches I’d have to go through, so I narrowed it down to WrestleMania matches, because those alone bring a ton of great classics to pick from. I mean, this, like all these lists,...

I grew up as a wrestling fan, having started watching at the sunrise of the 90s, in 1992, with the cartoon-era of WWF lighting up our screens with megastars like Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Bret Hart and Roddy Piper. Even back then though, in the midst of the mid-card, I was intrigued by the high-flyer in the baggy blue Mc Hammer-style pants named Owen Hart. When you go and look back on early Owen Hart matches from the 80s and early 90s, you realise just how ahead of the time he was with his ring work. His high flying and acrobatic energy mixed with his nuanced technical ability made for an exciting and entertaining superstar who I was immediately a fan of. Sure, back in those days he wasn’t being given a real shot, working in nothing-matches with Skinner, but I, and many others, could see just how talented he was.

Wrestling video games have been being released since the 80s. We’ve seen countless titles from a handful of promotions released through the years, with some being lousy, some being so-so, and some hitting those wonderful heights and being stonkingly good. Now, I have played A Lot of wrestling games, but I haven’t played all of them, so I guess that makes this a bit of a tough one, but I will go off general opinion too, as well as my overall feelings on a game. Let’s just do this, shall we?
10. WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game – Arcade, Genesis, 32X, Snes, PS1, Saturn, PC
Now, you might think that this is a controversial pick for this spot. Some may place a Def Jam game here, or maybe one of the awesome Day of Reckoning titles that were released back in the day on the Nintendo Gamecube, but I loved WrestleMania: The Arcade Game.

As we fast approach the WWE annual event known as Royal Rumble, it’s a good time to look back on all the previous shows. I’ve been doing just that. I’ve seen each event countless times, but I always enjoy going back in time to re-watch Royal Rumble shows, good or bad, from the past. Beginning in 1988, it was Pat Patterson who came up with the concept of the Royal Rumble match, and it’s been a hugely popular match and Pay-per View ever since. Fans love the idea of not knowing who is coming out next in the big thirty-man (and now thirty-woman) match. Surprises often occur, returns happen and the good guys and bad guys of the company all hit the ring for a big brawl to determine who will go to WrestleMania to face the Champ. [Editor’s note: The following piece contains discussion of graphic transphobic jokes.]
On last Wednesday’s episode of “South Park,” a Randy Savage-type character enters and wins a Strong Woman competition. The supposed joke? Her name is Heather. Hulking with muscle and sporting a dark beard and gruff voice, she quickly dispenses with the competition. Looking on in shy discomfort are PC Principal and his wife, vice principal Strong Woman, who parent the PC Babies, the show’s tongue-in-cheek caricature of hyper-progressive white liberals. As Heather arrogantly sweeps a barrage of women’s competitions, bragging that she can beat any woman, her bad attitude tests the mettle of their liberal goodwill.
The episode, titled “Board Girls,” and the seventh episode of the 23rd season of Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s Comedy Central series, provoked an immediate and universal backlash, and IndieWire reached out to the network for comment.
But nobody seemed particularly surprised.
