Ivaylo Petrov(1923-2005)

Ivaylo Petrov ( Prodan Petrov Kyuchukov) was a Bulgarian writer. He was born on January 19, 1923 in a village Gyuchedyolyuk, now Bdintzi, region of Dobrich, Bulgaria. In 1942 graduated college in Dobrich. He took part in last phase of WWII, fought with German. Petrov studied jurisprudence in Sofia University, then black and white drawing in classes of Beshkov. He was an editor in the journal "Plamak" and in the newspaper "Literaturen front". He is an author of more than 20 books, the most important of which is "A Battue on the Wolves" (1982). He received the Award of Union of Bulgarian Writers for this book in 1986. His works are translated on Russian, Chinese, German, Romanian, French, Polish, etc. In 2000 he was awarded with the order "Stara Planina".
