However you look at it, the fact that Russell Crowe has chosen to make two exorcist movies in as many years is a very strange decision. It’s like Jason Statham deciding to play another bee-keeper, or Glen Powell playing another hitman. Whatever the reasoning behind his decision, Crowe’s second exorcism movie, The Exorcism, is sadly disappointing, a murky, near-nonsensical effort with nothing to offer but jump scares.
In fairness, you can maybe see Crowe’s thinking when you take a closer look at the film’s pedigree. It’s directed by Joshua John Miller, the son of Jason Miller, who played Father Damien in William Friedkin’s The Exorcist. Similarly, rather than playing an actual exorcist, as he did in last year’s The Pope’s Exorcist,...

It's a rare triumph for an actor to win a spot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's an extremely rare triumph for them to land multiple roles.
Adrian Pasdar is one of the lucky few. Not only did the American actor spend four seasons as Glenn Talbot in the popular television series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., he also voices the part of Tony Stark in multiple Marvel animated series.
As if that wasn't enough, Pasdar also provided the voice for Hawkeye in The Super Hero Squad Show And Captain America in the Black Panther animated series.
Maybe Marvel's phone broke and they could only call one actor for a while?
What's He Doing Now?
Since moving on from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Pasdar has continued to book consistent voice work and television shows. Over the past two years he's added podcasting to his repertoire, with roles in the fully-scripted kids'-story podcast The...

The horror film The Exorcism, which was formerly known as The Georgetown Project and stars Russell Crowe, received a theatrical release in North America on June 21st (you can read our review Here) – and now we’ve learned that it’s scheduled for VOD release just two and half weeks after it hit the big screen. As of July 9th, genre fans will have the chance to watch The Exorcism in the comfort of their own home.
Crowe recently played real-life exorcist Father Gabriele Amorth in the supernatural horror film The Pope’s Exorcist, which could turn out to be a franchise starter. He actually worked on this movie before making The Pope’s Exorcist – in fact, The Exorcism was first announced four and a half years ago. Let’s face it, streaming services have lost a lot of their appeal. Between their ever shifting libraries, their kneecapping of theaters, and their tendency to overwhelm viewers with substandard garbage, it’s hard to be excited about our streaming present. Heck, most services now play the same couple of ads over and over, even for paying customers!
With every annoying insurance ad and every movie suddenly shoved from a service you bought to a different service you don’t have, Tubi looks better and better. Tubi is one of many free streaming services available online. Like most other services, free or otherwise, Tubi interrupts the programming with occasional ads.
But Tubi also has an outstanding library, one that rivals Max, with its oft-threatened TCM and Ghibli channels. Still, Tubi can be overwhelming to some users, who can’t always see the gems alongside stinkers such as Big Stan (starring Rob Schneider!

Making a film that trades on the mysterious production problems with the original The Exorcist seems like a good idea. But how to go about such a meta task?
Within the film-within-a-film genre, there’s a sub-genre: think Willem Dafoe as a vampire/actor in Shadow of the Vampire or Nicole Kidman as a witch/actor in the disastrous comedy flop Bewitched.
Obviously, remaking The Exorcist would be a daunting project. But The Exorcism is a film about that daunting project. And the lead character is possessed.
If you were expecting Regan, the girl, to be possessed, I can’t blame you. But no, this time, it’s the priest who is possessed.
The Exorcism has nothing in common with last year’s The Pope’s Exorcist except that RussellCrowe stars in both. It’s also not related to the recent Exorcist: Believer. But since they’re both Exorcist-inspired films with wide release,...

There are several similarities between the Catholic Church and the film industry. Among them is a tendency to let powerful people get away with unconscionable behavior. In that insidious overlap, director Joshua John Miller finds the heart of “The Exorcism,” an ambitious social commentary that commingles Hollywood’s penchant for wrongdoing with the abuses of the Vatican for a unique portrait of an actor unraveled.
On the one hand, it’s a mediocre genre movie with a title as mundane as it is misleading. On the other hand, even as a muddy character study making only the weakest attempts to scare, “The Exorcis-m” is still a bigger treat for fans of “The Exorcis-t” than its recent flop sequel, “The Exorcist: Believer.”

The horror film The Exorcism, which was formerly known as The Georgetown Project and stars Russell Crowe, was once set to receive a North American theatrical release on June 7th, but you may have noticed that it’s not currently in theatres. That’s because it was pushed back to June 21st – and with that date one week away, a pair of clips from the film have arrived online. You can watch one in the embed above, and the other can be found at the bottom of this article.

Remember how Liam Neeson, at one point in his career, decided he would play only action heroes and how most of his recent characters were basically Bryan Mills from Taken in a different context? Well, it seems that another acting legend has chosen the same path, as Oscar-winner Russell Crowe is once again going to play an exorcist in the upcoming movie The Exorcism, which is set to be released on June 7, 2024. Now, the first official trailer for the movie has been released and we are going to show it to you below.
Now, our introduction was – in case you do not know – like this because Russel Crowe starred as an exorcist in the 2023 movie The Pope’s Exorcist, which – believe it or not – has absolutely no connection to The Exorcism. It seems that Crowe liked the previous role so he decided to reprise it but in a completely unrelated movie.

It may not have been his plan, but Russell Crowe is capitalizing on the return of the iconic “The Exorcist” franchise with separate standalone religious horror films “The Exorcism,” out June 7, and 2023’s “The Pope’s Exorcist.”
Crowe leads Joshua John Miller’s “The Exorcism” as an actor facing demons — maybe literal ones. Consider it a meta twist: The film centers on Anthony Miller (Crowe), a troubled actor who begins to unravel while shooting a supernatural horror film. His estranged daughter, Lee (Ryan Simpkins), wonders if he’s slipping back into his past addictions or if there’s something more sinister at play.
The buzzy cast includes Sam Worthington, Chloe Bailey, Adam Goldberg, David Hyde Pierce, Josh Warren, Adrian Pasdar, and Tracey Bonner.
Director Miller co-wrote the script with M.A. Fortin. “The Exorcism” marks Miller and Fortin’s second feature, after the 2015 horror comedy “The Final Girls.” They also co-created the...

Russell Crowe recently played real-life exorcist Father Gabriele Amorth in the supernatural horror film The Pope’s Exorcist, which could turn out to be a franchise starter… but before Crowe made that movie, he made a different supernatural thriller that deals with exorcism. Remember 2006? That was the year that High School Musical came out, and so did Lance Bass. The very first tweet was tweeted, and Miley Cyrus was just some actress on a new Disney Channel show.
In this strange and innocent time, NBC dropped a (then) totally unique pilot into its mix of programming. It was a superhero show – but one without any recognizable names, like Superman or Batman. It was an ensemble show, but it was also high-budget. And, two years before The Dark Knight declared superheroes to be serious business, it challenged the audience to really think about what it might mean if average, ordinary people developed superhuman abilities.
The show, of course, was Heroes.
What Was It About?

Are you ready for another solar eclipse?
One of the most polarizing series of the last 20 years is staging a comeback.
Deadline reports that Heroes creator Tim Kring is prepping a follow-up to the 2006-10 series.
This time, a new crop of evos awaken and discover their powers after a solar eclipse.
The good news is that it won’t be rewriting history. It will share a universe with the original series and the 2015 limited series reboot, Heroes: Reborn.

A new “Heroes” reboot series is in development from creator Tim Kring, Variety has confirmed.
The reboot, titled “Heroes: Eclipsed,” is set years after the events of the original superhero series, as new evolved humans are discovering their powers. Kring is executive producing “Heroes: Eclipsed” with his manager, Mosaic’s Jordan Cerf. Casting has yet to be announced.
“Heroes” ran for four seasons on NBC from 2006 to 2010, and starred Hayden Panettiere, Jack Coleman, Milo Ventimiglia, Masi Oka, Zachary Quinto, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Ali Larter, Adrian Pasdar and Greg Grunberg. “The Disappearance of Mrs. Wu,” a multi-generational comedy starring “Crazy Rich Asians” actor Lisa Lu, is set for a March 17 premiere at the Laemmle Theater in North Hollywood, following the film’s acquisition by Freestyle Digital Media. The coming-of-age story will then have a one-week theatrical run.
Reflective of the feature’s expansive crew of female filmmakers, “The Disappearance of Mrs. Wu” is centered around the challenges of mother-daughter relationships. The film follows Emma (Rochelle Ying), an introverted teenager, on a road-trip up the California coast after her grandmother, Lily (Lu), asks for help breaking out of her nursing home. Along the way, Emma begins to obtain a better understanding of her immigrant mother and their complicated relationship.

In the previous episode of The Arrow in the Head Show, hosts John “The Arrow” Fallon and Lance Vlcek were joined by Chris Margetis of The Manson Brothers Midnight Zombie Massacre to discuss one of my all-time favorite films, the 1986 classic Trick or Treat. Adrian Pasdar has experienced a lot in his nearly 40 years as a working actor and in this episode he generously shares the wisdom he’s gleaned. Some of the highlights in his credits include Top Gun, Near Dark, Carlitos Way, Heroes, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, and perhaps the most talked about single-season series of the ’90s, Profit. Not to mention he’s the voice of Iron Man. He talks about how listening became his prime directive as an actor, his search for truth in performance (and the search for a better word than “truth”), “the method” as protective element, and why he […]

"The power's out everywhere! The city is locked down!" Gravitas Ventures has debuted an official trailer for a very gory, ridiculously cheesy grindhouse horror film titled The Manson Brothers Midnight Zombie Massacre. Yes, that is the full title, because it's about the "Manson Brothers", two professional wrestlers, who end up fighting a horde of zombies after a midnight cage match on Halloween. "They didn't know that they need to stay in an arena to fight zombies." Why not...? There's even a sequel already in the works: The Manson Brothers Satanic Vampire Death Match. Midnight Zombie Massacre stars Max Martini (who also directs the film), Adrian Pasdar, Randy Couture, Bas Rutten, and Db Sweeney, along with tons of hungry zombies. This looks so so bad - but that's the point! Disgusting grindhouse zombie mania. Have fun. This article contains Superman & Lois spoilers.
There’s no question that Superman & Lois really knows its stuff. The first episode was a genuine love letter to Superman history, and proved once and for all that you can do a faithful, reverent take on the Man of Steel legend without just retreading stuff people have seen a thousand times.
Superman & Lois episode 2 digs a little bit deeper for its lore, but once again pulls tons of terrific deep cuts from both DC Comics and the character’s history in movies and on TV.
Here’s everything we found…
Captain Luthor
Captain Luthor is from a world that was ravaged by an evil Superman (one wearing the black suit that we saw him wear on Elseworlds). Could this mean that this Luthor is from a world similar to Earth-3 in DC Comics, where the people we know as heroes are in fact evil and vice versa?...

In a statement to TV Line, Larter said the following:
“I am deeply saddened to hear about Leonard Roberts’ experience on Heroes and I am heartbroken reading his perception of our relationship, which absolutely doesn’t match my memory nor experience on the show," she told the outlet.
"I respect Leonard as an artist and I applaud him or anyone using their voice and platform. I am truly sorry for any role I may have played in his painful experience during that time and I wish him and his family the very best.”
Roberts penned an essay for Variety, which went public earlier on Wednesday, which found Roberts recalling his experience of working on the show.

Beginning in 2006, NBC’s pulpy comic book-esque series Heroes ran for four seasons consisting of 77 episodes and over 30 online “minisodes.” The original run was followed up with 13-episode reboot Heroes Reborn in 2015. All in all, the franchise produced over 65 hours of content. Of those 65+ hours of Heroes, 20 seconds are absolutely, devastatingly perfect.
That 20 second of Heroes nirvana occurs in the 20th episode of the show’s first season, “Five Years Gone.” In it, the temporally-displaced Hiro Nakamura and his friend Ando Masahashi time travel five years into the future to discover what will become of the world if a prophesied explosion isn’t stopped. Things are properly dystopian with a superpowered president Nathan Petrelli (Adrian Pasdar) rounding up and imprisoning his fellow supes. Notorious mobster Al Capone was a larger than life bootlegger, racketeer, killer and organized crime boss in the first half of the 20th century, who has been portrayed on big-screen and small for seven decades. The Dixie Chicks are back, ya'll! On Wednesday, the female country music trio released "Gaslighter," their first single in 13 years, and an accompanying music video.
