13th Sign Pictures will finance and produce the contemporary-set conspiracy thriller "Dallas in Wonderland." Ryan Page ("Queens of Country") directs from a script he co-wrote with Adam Parfrey.
The story follows a documentary filmmaker and his female producer who are hired by a major TV network to do a puff piece for their planned reenactment of John F. Kennedy's motorcade assassination to take place during a televised memorial ceremony.
Caught up in the network's plot to prove Oswald acted alone, the duo close in on the central narrative surrounding one of history's greatest murder mysteries, a solution that will play out in front of a worldwide TV audience.
This is not to be confused with Peter Landesman's upcoming ensemble drama "Parkland" about the events at the hospital following the assassination.

As sure as day follows night and night follows day, if there’s a project developing in Hollywood, you can bet that there’s a project elsewhere being developed based on similar subject material. For a few months now we’ve known about the Tom Hanks produced JFK assassination drama, “Parkland,” which already boasts a cast including Paul Giamatti, Billy Bob Thornton, Jacki Weaver, Marcia Gay Harden and Zac Efron. That film will dramatize the events that occurred at Dallas’ Parkland Hospital on the day President Kennedy was assassinated on November 22nd, 1963. Maybe it’s because the 50th anniversary of that event is fast approaching, but now there’s another film based around the assassination on its way from “Queens of Country” writer-director Ryan Page. Page will write (alongside Adam Parfrey) and direct a conspiracy thriller going by the name of “Dallas In Wonderland," which will center around a documentary.

It would seem unreasonable to suspect that anyone who saw last year’s Country Strong thought that the film would be improved with some jokes about mental retardation, but here we are. Coming from documentary duo Ryan Page and Christopher Pomerenke, Queens of Country has one of those on-paper pedigrees that sound like comedic magic — a cast that includes Lizzy Caplan,Ron Livington, and Joe Lo Truglio, a plot that sounds both sorta silly and kinda touching, and a score written by Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock. And then there’s whatever in sweet Hell this is. Caplan stars as Jolene Gillis, “the prettiest girl in a small Arizona town” who is obsessed with classic country jams (we’re talking all those real queens of country — Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton — so at least there’s a smattering of truth in the film’s title). When Jolene finds an iPod stuffed with all her favorite songs...

Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock has been busy in the studio working on his group’s latest album – with Outkast’s Big Boi producing some tracks – but the enigmatic singer has just tacked another project on to his to-do list: scoring a film.
Brock has signed on to provide the audio accompaniment to a western comedy film (don’t see those very often) called Queens of Country. The movie is to be directed by Ryan Page and Christopher Pomerenke – the same fellas who brought us Blood Into Wine, a wine documentary starring Tool’s Maynard James Keenan. Rather appropriate since the singer is set to appear in the film as the antagonist – a bigger role than the cameos he’s used to.
Meanwhile, the lead actors are Ron Livingston, Sex and the City’s Jack Berger and star of the cult classic Office Space, and Lizzy Caplan of my favorite canceled show,...

"Being Michael Madsen" (2010)

While not as distinguished or meta as "Being John Malkovich," expect this mockumentary about the "Reservoir Dogs" star to be equally surreal as Madsen recruits sister Virginia and "Kill Bill" co-stars Daryl Hannah and the late David Carradine to co-star in this film that sees him accused of murder. Rather than sit idly by, Madsen turns the table on the paparazzi photographer fueling the allegations by hiring a trio of filmmakers to follow his every move.
"Beneath Clouds" (2002)

I know Lizzy Caplan has a good acting career going and is in reality a stone cold fox, but for me she'll always be Janis Ian, the reject loner who shows Cady the ropes and is eventually betrayed in Mean Girls. Not only is it the best movie she or anyone in the movie has ever been in, but Caplan is hilarious in it, and it has made me want to be her best friend for life. Right now Caplan is showing off her comedy chops on Party Down on Starz, but a lead movie role has come her way to give her even more of the limelight. Production Weekly reports that Caplan will star in Queens of Country, a comedy directed by Ryan Page & Chris Pomerenke that, according to details dug up by The Playlist, will star Caplan as a young woman obsessed with female country stars like Loretta...

Director(s): Ryan Page & Christopher Pomerenke Writer(s): Maynard James Keenan, Ryan Page, Christopher Pomerenke Starring: Maynard James Keenan, Eric Glomski, Milla Jovovich, Patton Oswalt, Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim, Tim Alexander, Bob Odenkirk Before I get started, I should probably set the record straight; I had no idea who Maynard James Keenan was prior to watching Blood Into Wine. So for the other Tool-deprived souls out there, allow me to summarize: Maynard James Keenan fronts Tool, a multi-platinum metal (a term I am using very loosely) band that formed in 1990. Tool has released four studio albums since its 1993 debut, Undertow. Keenan also fronts the supergroup A Perfect Circle (which has released three albums to date) and Puscifer (a side project, which released its first studio album in October 2007). Keenan is also a winemaker, former Army cadet, comedian (he is featured in a couple Mr. Show cameos – the...

After playing a slightly mopey and definitely odd vampire in Twilight and its upcoming sequel, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Jackson Rathbone is set to stay on the dark side for his next film, landing the lead role in Lords of Chaos. In it, he'll play a Norweigan death metal star convicted of brutally stabbing a rival musician.Yes, they put the "death" in "death metal" up in Norway, since this is based on the real-life story of Varg Vikernes, aka The Count, of one-man-band Burzum. He was imprisoned for 16 years between 1993 and this year, following a series of church arsons and the stabbing to death of rival Øystein Aarseth, aka Euronymous of the band Mayhem. Vikernes also dabbled in far-Right politics, the Heathen Front and was found with a cache of explosives when he was arrested for Aarseth's murder. The film is based on the book Lords of Chaos...
