Turkish megastar Can Yaman is set to attend the upcoming Mipcom TV market in Cannes to promote English-language drama “El Turco,” in which he plays a legendary historical figure that bridges Turkey with the Western world.
The groundbreaking six-episode “El Turco” series — featuring a starry cast of actors from nine different countries and combining history, action-adventure and romance — will be unveiled in Cannes by Turkish distributor Madd Entertainment, which is planning for the show to get a global release in February 2025.
In “El Turco,” which is produced by Turkey’s Ay Yapim, Yaman plays 17th Ottoman soldier Hasan Balaban, who was wounded during the Turkish army’s campaign to conquer Vienna in 1683 and ended up some 200 kilometers away in the Italian Alpine village of Moena. Nicknamed “El Turco” by the villagers, he led the locals to a clamorous revolt against unfair taxes that made him a local hero.

On Saturday, the stars of Stargate Atlantis reunited for a panel at Comic-Con@Home, reminiscing about their first Comic-Con appearance as cast members, their initial perceptions of the show and more.
Kicking off the discussion of the cast’s first convention appearance was Rainbow Sun Francks. The actor, who played Lt. Aiden Ford, remembered that his first Comic-Con as part of Stargate was “crazy,” which led David Nykl and other cast members to chime in with further details.
“It was really daunting,” said Nykl, who played Dr. Radek Zelenka. “You’ve got to develop this sort of onstage convention personality, which is like a hybrid between your character and yourself. We had to learn that.”
Actress Torri Higginson (Dr. Elizabeth Weir) recalled that “the studio gave us all free liquor the night before” the panel. Naturally, then, she and her co-stars ended up with “a hangover that only new actors with free liquor would have.

Prepare for some serious father/daughter bonding on Arrow, in the form of a Russian fight club. "Prochnost" takes Oliver and his newfound family to Russia to track down a way to going up against the Monitor and deal with the impending Crisis, and that apparently means several things: 1) The return of Oliver's (Stephen Amell) good ol' frenemy Anatoly (David Nykl), and 2) Oliver and Mia (Katherine McNamara) get to show off their fighting skills in an underground fight club. That's no sweat for Mia, since that is, after all, how we met her in the first place. She spent most of her life training with Nyssa Al Ghul, and she's...

When last we tuned into The CW’s Arrow, Oliver Queen and his grown-up daughter-from-the-future had a not-so-happy family reunion, given how he had to leave both Mia and Felicity behind to fulfill his mission for the Monitor.
As the farewell season resumes this Tuesday at 9/8c, with Episode 5 of 10, father and daughter are forced to attempt some sort of bonding in the course of a trip to Russia, to fetch some plutonium (as one does). Will Oliver develop a certain regard for adult Mia’s own vigilante skills, paving the way for a détente? TVLine invited Katherine McNamara to preview the family not-a-vacation ahead…...

Thirty years after the Velvet Revolution that brought down the communist regime in the former Czechoslovakia, the six-part HBO Europe series “The Sleepers” captures that tumultuous time with a spy drama set behind the Iron Curtain.
On the eve of its world premiere at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, director Ivan Zacharias (“Wasteland”) and actor David Nykl (“Stargate”) joined Variety film critic Peter Debruge to discuss the series at the Variety Critics Corner, presented by HBO Europe.
Zacharias recalled the turbulent events of a year that swept away the decades-long reign of one-party rule in Czechoslovakia. “That was a big year. It was a huge change, when the communist system finally broke down,” he said.
It’s an era that’s rarely been documented on screen, noted Debruge, with “The Sleepers” offering a portrait of Czech society at a time when political intrigue meant nothing was entirely what it seemed.

WarnerMedia has denied that owner At&T is considering selling the European arm of HBO. This comes after a report in the Financial Times this morning.
WarnerMedia CEO John Stankey has put his name to the on-the-record denial, an unusual move for a major media company. The newspaper had claimed that At&T had held internal discussions about a sale of HBO Europe to help pay down its debt.
“We normally do not comment on speculation, but when a news outlet is advised that their reporting is factually incorrect and report it anyway, we feel compelled to set the record straight,” said Stankey. “There is no truth whatsoever to the Financial Times’ story saying At&T is or has considered selling HBO Europe. It’s completely baseless and inaccurate. HBO Europe is a valuable asset for our growth plans in Europe.”

Hattie Morahan, star of Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast and Arrow star David Nykl are to front The Sleepers, a spy drama for HBO Europe.

It was written by newcomer Ondřej Gabriel, who studied political science at Prague’s Charles University before becoming a playwright, and directed by Ivan Zacharias, the Czech filmmaker behind HBO Europe’s Wasteland.

Although Arrow set the tone and allowed the CW to grow its own integrated television universe, the series itself has been a maddening, uneven affair that always seems to take three steps forward then backslide at least one.
In what could have been a final season, that unevenness was never more frustrating as the show whipsawed characters and situations into increasingly dumb configurations that annoyed rather than entertained.
You can revisit all the nonsense in Arrow: The Complete Sixth Season, out now on Blu-ray and Digital HD from Warner Home Entertainment.

Oliver Queen has faced a lot of uphill battles over the past six seasons of Arrow, but someone who’s almost always been by his side to help him make the climb is his best bud John Diggle. In this week’s episode of The CW series, however, Stephen Amell and David Ramsey’s characters will come to blows in what looks to be a shocking falling out between the dynamic duo.
You can get your first look at the battle brewing in the Arrow-Cave in the promo photos below, but it seems Ollie and Diggle begin with a verbal disagreement before things turn violent, leaving Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) distraught that the two men are fighting. Meanwhile, Katie Cassidy’s Black Siren and Kurt Acevedo’s Ricardo Diaz are up to their old evil tricks, after they get their hands on some vial of green liquid.

Even though the season premiere of Arrow has yet to air, The CW has opted to treat us with images culled from beyond the returning episode. Truth be told, this practice isn’t unheard of, as networks don’t mind circulating advance photos as long as they aren’t too spoiler-ish. That said, what we have to examine today isn’t going to ruin any possible surprises for you, but what these pics will do is succeed in getting you all the more excited for the next chapter in Oliver Queen’s enduring crusade.

Now that we have less than two weeks separating us from the sixth season of Arrow, The CW has thankfully chosen to serve up an extended trailer. Previously, all we had received was a brief promo and a gallery of preview images, which were much appreciated, but we were clamoring for something as meaty as other recent DC TV teasers.
This time, though, we’re not only granted more action, but more hints at what lies ahead for Oliver Queen and company. And while spoilers regarding who may have survived the blast on Lian Yu are being avoided, we do get a little more between Oliver and Deathstroke. But in this instance, we hear more of Slade Wilson’s dialogue, thus clarifying the context of their conversation. Before, his words sounded more foreboding, but now, it seems like he’s offering some brutal truth.

Although Prometheus most certainly left some big shoes to fill, the creative minds behind Arrow seem to be more than up to the task when it comes to finding a credible threat for Oliver Queen and company to deal with in season 6. Actually, the heroes of Star City will have their work cut out for them because they’ll have to contend with more than just one big bad when things pick up this fall.
Initially, reports coming out of San Diego Comic-Con back in July indicated that Michael Emerson will be playing Richard Dragon, but we now know that to not be the case since Kirk Acevedo has been confirmed for that particular role. That being said, we’re still left wondering the name of Emerson’s character and how he’ll fit in with Dragon and David Nykl’s Anatoly Knyazev – and whomever else will round out their group.

Well, we can finally put a face to one of Arrow season 6’s big bads, as the much talked about Richard Dragon has been cast. Technically, the character’s real name is Ricardo Diaz, but he went by the pseudonym of “Richard Dragon” in the New 52 comics, also being the son of the man to originally bear that name (more on that in a moment).
As it turns out, Kirk Acevedo (Kingdom, Insidious: Chapter 4) has found himself in the role. But before we proceed any further, let’s take a look at the character description provided by Deadline:
A hardened ex-con recently released from prison for crimes he didn’t commit, Ricardo Diaz (Acevedo) is bent on taking over Star City’s criminal underworld. A master in hand to hand combat, honed by years of life on the street, Diaz has yet to meet a foe he can’t take down.

When you really think about it, it makes sense that Arrow be the one to end a day filled with panels devoted to DC TV shows. After all, not only did it recently conclude one of its finest seasons, but it’s also the eldest of the current crop, paving the way for what has appropriately been dubbed “the Arrowverse.”
That said, we wish they would’ve shown even more new footage in the trailer that debuted at San Diego Comic-Con, but it makes sense as to why they’d include so much from the season 5 finale. After all, not only was that episode a crowning achievement, but it also left us hanging as to who made it out alive.
Now, the more eagle-eyed among you likely noticed some new bits intercut with the old footage, showing various cast members trying to flee to safety, the fate of most of which is still unknown.

“The Breaking Point — Prometheus (Josh Segarra) goes to great lengths to break Oliver (Stephen Amell). Meanwhile, in the flashbacks, Anatoly (guest star David Nykl) becomes worried about Oliver’s increasingly violent tendencies, which come to a head in a brutal confrontation. Kevin Tancharoen directed the episode written by Brian Ford Sullivan & Emilio Ortega Aldrich (#517). Original airdate 3/22/2017.”
The title of the episode Kapiushon loosely translates from Russian to "Hood or Cowl". With this synopsis and title it seems that this is when we will see Oliver in the flashbacks fully transform himself into the Hood. If you remember back in Season 1 Oliver's character was referred to as "The Hood". It wasn't until Season 2 that his character went by "The Arrow".

It’s not often that Oliver Queen and his cohorts venture overseas, so it goes without saying that we should all tune in for tonight’s episode of Arrow, “Bratva.” And if you’ve been following the series to this point, you know from that title we’re going to be seeing the titular hero’s past exploits with the Russian mafia come home to roost.
In the newly released sneak peek, we join Team Arrow 2.0 as they settle into their temporary digs after Oliver has apparently taken a punch to the face, probably courtesy of his old pal Anatoly. But what’s particularly exciting to see is that Dinah Drake, the new Black Canary, is already taking part in the action. Now begins the countdown to seeing her in full costume.

On tomorrow night's episode of Arrow, Ollie and co. return to Russia to meet with Anatoly, but it looks like they're going to be in for an unpleasant surprise when they arrive. Check out some promo images for "Bratva" below, which feature Juliana Harkavy as Tina Boland Dinah Drake, as well as Lexa Doig as Talia Al-Ghul, and more. We also get a look at Ollie's old-school "Hood" costume in a couple of the flashback pics. Oliver Returns To Russia -- A mission takes Oliver (Stephen Amell), Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and team to Russia where they meet up with Oliver's old friend, Anatoly (guest star David Nykl). Meanwhile, fresh out of rehab, Lance (Paul Blackthorne) returns to the mayor's office ready to get back to work. However, when Susan (guest star Carly Pope) asks for an interview with Lance to discuss his addiction, he balks and it's up to...

It’s not too often that Oliver Queen does some globe hopping outside of flashbacks, but when he does, odds are that something important will happen. As such, it’s highly recommended that you don’t miss next week’s episode of Arrow, which is naturally titled “Bratva.”
Now that Tina Boland has been revealed to be, in fact, Dinah Drake and is set to become the next Black Canary, she joins the gang as they head to the other side of the world and wastes no time getting in on the action. Aside from that, I’m interested to see if indeed Oliver’s alliance with Anatoly will become strained and if the latter will ever become KGBeast in this universe.

In tonight's episode of Arrow, we learned that Tina Boland is really Dinah Drake, a character who is, in fact, Black Canary in many DC Comics stories. She may not be a Lance, but this gives the series a chance to do the hero justice (even if it does feel incredibly forced after Lauren's largely unnecessary death). Regardless, come next Wednesday, she'll be heading to Russia with the rest of Oliver's team. What did you think of tonight's Arrow and the Black Canary's debut? Share your thoughts down below. The CW’s DC TV offerings return next week, but the network has today released the official descriptions for the episodes of Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl which will air the week beginning February 6th. There aren’t too many major reveals here, but each of them sounds pretty fun in their own way.
First up is Supergirl. In an episode titled “The Martian Chronicles,” it sounds like we should expect the Girl of Steel to find herself caught in a crossfire between Martian Manhunter and the White Martians, the villainous alien race who wiped his people (and family) out on Mars.
White Martians Attack The Deo — Armek (guest star Terrell Tilford), a White Martian, descends on National City intent on taking M’gann (guest star Sharon Leal) back to Mars to face her punishment as a traitor. Hank (David Harewood) and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) determine the...

The CW has released the first official images from the upcoming fifth season of Arrow, and they’ve left fans with a lot to talk about. For starters, we get our first proper look at the villainous Prometheus, a mysterious archer who shares a name with Justice League villain from the DC Comics but is actually an original creation. Even more intriguing than that though is what appears to be a shot of Chad L. Coleman’s Tobias Church holding Oliver Queen – now mayor of Star City – hostage for reasons unknown.
We also get to see the return of a familiar face in the form of Anatoly Knyazev (David Nykl) in Arrow season five’s Russia set flashbacks. Thankfully, executive producer Marc Guggenheim has revealed that this year will be the last time the series incorporates this storytelling device on a regular basis,...

We still don't know how much the events of Flashpoint will change Arrow, but based on these first official images from season five, it doesn't seem as if Oliver Queen's world is vastly different following Barry Allen's decision to change the timeline. Star City's new mayor will have his hands full regardless as we get a first look at mysterious new bad guy Prometheus here taking aim at an unknown foe. The images also put the spotlight on this year's flashbacks. Those will be set in Russia, and as you may have already realised if you've scrolled down, familiar face Anatoly Knyazev (played by David Nykl) makes his return. After a disappointing fourth season, it will be interesting to see how Arrow does - or doesn't - improve when it returns to The CW this October. What do you guys think of these images?...

The latest addition to the cast of Arrow season 5 is David Meunier (Justified, Jericho, Revolution), who will play DC baddie, Ishmael Gregor. In the comics, Gregor is granted the immense powers of the demonic Sabbac, but it remains to be seen if that carries over to the small screen of course. Here's how Deadline's report describes this take on the character: "The slick and intimidating Pakhan (“Godfather”) of the Bratva, whom Anatoly (David Nykl) reports and takes a special interest in Oliver Queen." EW has also debuted a new deleted scene from season 4, featuring Thea (Willa Holland) getting riled up by the paparazzi. Arrow Season 5 returns Wednesday, October 5 on the CW.

According to GreenArrowTV, actor David Nykl (Stargate) will be portraying Anatoli Knyazev in S02E04 "Crucible" and S02E06 "Keep Your Enemies Closer". If the name Knyzzev doesn't ring a bell then you may recognize his alter ego moniker, 'The KGBeast'. No word on whether we're being introduced to just Knyazev or whether we're getting a full on KGBeast right off the bat. You'll have to tune in next Wednesday at 8Pm to find out. Over at The Huffington Post, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg spoke about a number of topics including Black Canary (Caity Lotz) and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) soon coming face-to-face. Kreisberg: "[Laurel and the Canary] come face-to-face sooner than people realize. Sheppard (Joe Flanigan) and the others talk about the planet they have checked out and about the flying monkey. Rodney (David Hewlett) claims it's not the Wizard of Oz. Teyla (Rachel Luttrell) believes the planet was suitable to inhabit. There's a power spike in the jumper and Sheppard loses the steering, then power is lost and they miss entry into the stargate. There's interference and Rodney finds there's displacement current in the jumper, which should not hit them as it's dangerous. They find themselves in decaying orbit. The pod powers up and they lose life support. The power then returns. I quite like the floating stargates in space. Being sustained there in the middle of nowhere. No other jumpers have been exhibiting such problems so it was Sheppard's flying of it, but that was funny, no? Sheppard says the alpha site is perfect except for the monkeys. Rodney says the...

Rodney (David Hewlett) complains about Teyla (Rachel Luttrell) not letting him hold the baby, after he dropped him. Rodney was dropped when he was little. Sheppard (Joe Flanigan) "that explains a lot." The Daedalus arrives at Atlantis but there's no one on board. The actual Daedalus is on its way to earth so this one isn't their one. They fly to the ship and find scorch marks underneath it. As well as an energy reading. Inside there's an abandoned jumper and it's cold. I said that jumper was theirs, as will be explained later. Rodney analyzes the ship and finds it's him, "think there's a ghost on board." The log entry shows the ship was abandoned by Commander Sobol, whom Sheppard doesn't know nor has heard of. The energy reading fluctuates and the ship jumps into hyperspace. They can't reach Atlantis and Lorne (Kavan Smith) can't reach them, either. Rodney exclaims the city isn't there.

Woolsey (Robert Picardo) arrives on Atlantis, well he's beamed down and doesn't have any words for them. Sheppard (Joe Flanigan) "nice speech - very inspiring." Jennifer finds a sticky substance on her hand as she awakes form falling asleep at her desk. Sheppard notices the new table in the conference room, which Woolsey brought with him. If you didn't believe in monsters in your closet before, you might after this episode of Fringe (TV). Trust me, I checked behind my bedroom door before bed last night. Somewhere, an old man with bad teeth shaves his head, reciting a prayer. He's got a red "mark" on his skull, and he washes a weird serum over his skin. Elsewhere a little boy named Max (Michael Strusievici) is scared about monsters in his closet. His mother assures him that he's safe. She's wrong, however, when just as Max is about to fall asleep, the old man, wearing a silver mask jumps out and kidnaps him. Meanwhile, elsewhere in New York, Olivia (Anna Torv) meets up with her former taxi-driving buddy, Henry (Andre Royo), asking for his help getting her onto Liberty Island. We know Walternate and Brandonym (it's just fun coming up with alternate reality pet-names for these people) plan to place Olivia back in the sensory deprivation tank to further their research into why she successfully crosses universes, but what does that nagging vision of Peter have to say about it? The newest clip from "Amber 31422" let us in on Faux Faux-Livia's ghostly friend.
And it looks like Olivia won't be the only one with a visitor in upcoming episodes, as we've learned that Director Broyles (which universe's counterpart remains to be seen) will see his young son Christopher Broyles, as played by young actor Curtis Harris. The meeting takes place in episode seven, "The Abducted," which also sees David Nykl playing "Reverend Marcus."
A young Broyles? An abduction? A member of the cloth? Hmm.
