- Died of a heart attack at the age of 34.
- According to producer Quinn Martin, Novak was doing cocaine during his time on Most Wanted and had been using it for years. With Novack being a former professional athlete in relatively good health and only age 34, this was likely a contributing cause of Novack's premature death from a heart attack.
- Shelly's father owned an apartment building 1/2 block from the beach in Santa Monica. He ran a bikini store on the ground floor of that building.
