Heather grew up in Massachusetts, but began her career in the film business after College in NYC, working as Martin Scorsese's personal assistant on NY Stories, followed by Good Fellas and The Age of Innocence. Inspired by Scorsese's use of the camera in collaboration with Michael Ballhaus, Heather joined the IATSE Camera Union, Local 644 in 1992 in order to be able to continue to work with Union crews. After a busy career working her way up to Camera Technician, in 2020 Heather was the 1st Woman to be awarded A Lifetime Achievement Award as a Camera Technician by the SOC. Since that time Heather re-rated to become a Camera Operator and continues to love traveling.
