Ian Nickus is a composer/producer/instrumentalist who has written music for, or has had his original music placed in, shows on just about every major television network. His experience also includes years of music supervision work, and producing albums for artists on major and indie record labels such as Atlantic Records and Adeline/Warner Music Group.
Initially producing the demo for the song that became the theme for Friends (1994), he went on to compose music and play guitar on that show with composer Michael Skloff. Later projects include themes for Power Rangers Ninja Storm (2003), Naruto (2002), and MTV's Road Rules (1995), and music for Fox, E!, VH-1, ABC Family, the Discovery Channel, MTV, Cartoon Network, and the Lifetime Network.
A graduate of the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music, his talents as an instrumentalist were what propelled him into the world of TV and Film Music, but his work producing recording artists, on music not-for-picture, has also had a large part in shaping his talents and sensibilities. In addition, he creates electronic music under the name "Fantastic Machine", and has expressed his more philosophical side in the band "Cole Grey."
