Pierce Brosnan making his debut in the superhero world was not something had expected. Yet as fate would have it, the actor soon became probably the best part of Dwayne Johnson’s failed superhero venture, Black Adam. Starring as Dr. Fate aka Kent Nelson, Brosnan did an impeccable job and fans have been wanting to see more of him despite his grand sacrifice in the film.
Pierce Brosnan in Tomorrow Never Dies
While James Gunn and Peter Safran bringing one of DC’s oldest comic characters back to the screen seems like a distant dream, Brosnan can make his return to the world of superheroes elsewhere. And if his recent appearance is to be taken into consideration, Brosnan would look incredible as MCU’s Magneto.

"Black Adam" features the long-awaited debut of Dwayne Johnson in the superhero genre, but he is not the only person that makes the latest Dcu movie so exciting. For the first time, the Justice Society of America makes its way to the big screen alongside the titular anti-hero. DC's very first superhero team is already winning people over, especially its fan-favorite leader. Doctor Fate, who we consider the best character in the film, arrives at the scene in all his magical glory thanks to an inspired performance by Pierce Brosnan. The veteran actor perfectly encapsulates the character, giving life to Doctor Fate in more ways than one.
Although the jury is still out if "Black Adam" will indeed usher in a new and improved Dcu, one thing is certain — superheroes have never looked this good on screen. The members of the Justice Society not only look comic-accurate, but each brings...

Despite mixed critical reception, "Black Adam" is currently changing the hierarchy of the box office with numbers surpassing expectations. The jury is out on whether it will be a game-changer for the DC Extended Universe, but one thing is certain — it's a passionate love letter to the corners of the canon that does several fan-favorite characters justice. Dwayne Johnson's titular antihero is a great addition to the genre, but the introduction of the Justice Society of America may just take the cake. Especially with Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan), who we consider the best character in the film, eclipsing Black Adam himself. Unfortunately, he doesn't make it out of the film alive. Or does he?

You can be the destroyer of this world…or you can be its Savior
Black Adam is finally out, and if you haven’t seen it, do. While the first thing that separates the character from a lot of the other superhero movies in the genre, is that, for starters, he’s not a hero. He’s an antihero in its near purest form. Dwayne Johnson, master of shameless self promotion has been touting the greatness of this film for a while now, and this time, beyond a shadow of a doubt, he’s right. And what Black Adam believes is right comes from a place of ultimate struggle… and sacrifice.

This article contains Black Adam spoilers.
Believe it or not, the ending of Black Adam is a lot deeper than your average superhero movie. At the very least, there’s more going on, and given how little backstory it provides for pivotal characters like Doctor Fate and Hawkman, not to mention the deep DC lore tied to Black Adam himself, means that a little extra context might help you keep track of everything that went down. Let’s try to get at this…
Doctor Fate’s Vision
The seeds for the ending of the film are planted midway through the film’s first act, during the introduction of Pierce Brosnan as Kent Nelson, aka Doctor Fate. We see Brosnan riding in a car, when the mystical helmet of Nabu materializes next to him. When touching the helmet, Nelson experiences a vision of a massive battle in Kahndaq with the demon Sabbac,...

"Black Adam" is finally in theaters. While it's still up in the air whether it changes the hierarchy of power, what isn't in question is how much it expands the world of the DC Extended Universe. "Black Adam" is an origin story for the antihero played by Dwayne Johnson, but the film also features the Justice Society of America in a significant supporting role. This big-screen iteration of the team is a mix of members from different versions of the Jsa in the comics, allowing for a diverse set of young and old heroes. While they each more or less get a fun moment to shine in the film, one character ends up not just being the best Jsa character but the best character in "Black Adam" as a whole.

We have reached the end of a very long journey, DC fans. "Black Adam" has finally arrived in theaters, bringing an epic 15-year saga to its conclusion (or perhaps beginning?) for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The man became attached to the role back in 2007 and, at long last, he has brought Teth Adam to life on the big screen for the first time in the character's history. So, how did it go?
Today, we're going to go over the movie briefly, but mostly focus on the ending and what it means for the character in the Dceu, and, broadly speaking, what it means from an analytical standpoint. And, not to show my hand here, but does it have anything hiding underneath the surface at all? Or is this truly just an antihero origin story? Let's dig in.
Warning: this post contains major spoilers for "Black Adam." Proceed with caution.

The DC Extended Universe has had a rough time garnering the fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There are some strong ones, but reception of the movies has been all over the place, with many either having been bashed by critics and moviegoers alike (Suicide Squad) or having failed to live up to expectations (Wonder Woman 1984). There, too, are the middle of the road entries, like Birds of Prey. By early indications, this could be about where Black Adam winds up, with a probably edge towards a worthwhile watch.
Early praise is citings its action sequences, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s lead performance and pacing. At a short (by comic book movie standards) 124 minutes, Black Adam probably at least feels brisk.
Our own critic called it down the line, saying, that while it’s “not a top-tier superhero movie I still had a good time from beginning to end, and Johnson is really good.

Pierce Brosnan could have added another iconic role to his repertoire – if it weren’t for a “stupid” comment he made.
The former James Bond actor appeared on The Tonight Show on Tuesday (11 October) where he revealed that he auditioned for Tim Burton’s Batman(1989).
“I went up for Batman way back in the day when Tim Burton was doing it. Obviously, I didn’t get the job,” Brosnan told host Jimmy Fallon.
He continued: “I remember saying something stupid to Tim Burton, I said, ‘You know I can’t understand any man who would wear his underpants outside his trousers.’ But there you go… the best man got the job.”
The role, of course, went to Michael Keaton who also starred in the 1992 sequel, Batman Returns.

Just eight miles of rolling Palouse hills separate the college towns of Moscow, Idaho, and Pullman, Washington, but for decades they’ve existed as fiefdoms with rival laws. Back in the Eighties, when the drinking age in Idaho was still 18, students from Washington State University in Pullman would cross the state line to get blitzed in Moscow alongside University of Idaho undergrads. A few years ago, a weed shop opened just west of the state line in Washington, where Idaho state troopers are said to idle just beyond the parking lot,...

“The world needed a hero. It got Black Adam.”
The tagline for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s DC Comic Book film “Black Adam” says it all: He’s no superhero, but not everything is black and white.
Johnson stars as Black Adam aka Teth-Adam, an extraterrestrial who was imprisoned on planet Kahndaq for 5,000 years. Black Adam shares his powers with an ancient wizard and visits Earth to go head-to-head with the Justice Society of America. The film premieres October 21.
Noah Centineo is Atom Smasher, a Justice Society member who can manipulate his size and strength. Aldis Hodge plays Justice Society leader Hawkman, a reincarnation of an Egyptian prince who flies using metal wings. Quintessa Swindell is Cyclone and Pierce Brosnan is Kent Nelson aka Doctor Fate, who encourages Black Adam to use his powers for good rather than destruction.

This Young Justice: Phantoms review contains spoilers.
Young Justice Season 4 Episode 10
The more I sit with “Ydaer Teg,” this week’s episode of Young Justice: Phantoms, the less I like it. It’s not the same unhappiness that I’ve had with the rest of this season, though that’s definitely there: I still hate the motion comic, and I’m still pretty mad that the show chose to tell the story of Starro the Conqueror’s invasion of ancient Babylon and murder of Nabu in still frames they nudge across the camera to simulate movement. And I’m getting increasingly frustrated with the Beast Boy pop ins, which this week seemed like an excuse to berate him for his grief.
But his week, my biggest problem was with a defensible storytelling choice and not a budget or storytelling restriction: Sgt. Marvel has an addiction problem.

The first look at director Jaume Collet-Serra’s “Black Adam” was revealed during the DC FanDome virtual event on Saturday, giving “Shazam!” fans an early glimpse at this spinoff starring Dwayne “The Rock Johnson” as that character’s arch-nemesis. The film also stars Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, Sarah Shahi, Quintessa Swindell, and Pierce Brosnan. Watch below.

Black Adam, the long-gestating Dwayne Johnson DC Extended Universe entry, may have started out as a cold-introduction Shazam spinoff affixed to the stardom of a huge headliner, but the film is poised to become a watershed entry in Warner’s—to put it generously—confusing cinematic continuity. Indeed, besides having today’s biggest action star atop its marquee, the film is set to bring several other notable DC Comics characters to life on the big screen, and, from a technical standpoint, operates on a stunning scale, as Johnson himself has been teasing with a new look at his onscreen costume.

Pierce Brosnan will play Dr. Fate in New Line/DC’s highly anticipated “Black Adam” film starring Dwayne Johnson, according to an individual with knowledge of the project.
Dr. Fate, a.k.a. Kent Nelson, was the final piece of casting left to round out the Justice Society of America, and when he dons the Helmet of Fate, it will be for his first ever superhero role. It was previously announced that Aldis Hodge has been cast as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone.
Sarah Shahi has also been cast as Adrianna Tomaz and Marwan Kenzari is in talks to play the villain.
The first look at how the Justice Society will appear onscreen came on last summer during Warner Bros.’ virtual Comic-Con alternative, DC FanDome, courtesy of two “Black Adam” teasers introduced by Johnson. The clips, which were motion-comics created entirely using concept art,...

“The hierarchy of power in the DC universe is about to change.” That’s how Dwayne Johnson has teased the incoming arrival of Black Adam into the Dceu. And while it’s true that The Rock’s antihero will be one of the strongest beings in the franchise, possessing similar power levels to Superman, the Black Adam movie will actually introduce someone else who could give him a run for his money. None other than Doctor Fate.
With DC holding off on pitting Adam against Zachary Levi’s Shazam, Black Adam will see Johnson face off against the Justice Society of America instead. Though the team will also include Noah Centineo’s Atom Smasher and Aldis Hodge’s Hawkman, the most dangerous threat to the ruler of Kahndaq on the Jsa might actually be Kent Nelson. As ScreenRant rightly points out, there’s a claim to be made that he...

After years of being attached to the character, Dwayne Johnson is finally about to make his Dceu debut as Black Adam in his own self-titled movie. Following on from the tangentially-related Shazam!, fans can’t wait to see what Black Adam has in store, given all the exciting reports we’ve heard about it. After all, The Rock himself has confirmed that the film will introduce the Justice Society of America into the cinematic franchise alongside the eponymous ruler of Kahndaq.
So, Adam himself and a bunch of Golden Age heroes. Sounds like a must-watch for DC lovers everywhere, right? Well, The Geeks Worldwide’s Thomas Polito has claimed on Twitter that he’s read parts of the Black Adam script and he promises that “it’s a DC fans wonderland.” His choice of accompanying Gif no doubt confirms that Doctor Fate will be one of the Jsa members appearing in the movie,...

Dwayne Johnson is finally set to join the Dceu. After years of being attached to the role, The Rock at last officially announced his Black Adam movie earlier this month. As well as Shazam’s nemesis, the film is expected to tap into the Justice Society of America and the Golden Age heroes from DC lore as well. This has been confirmed by Johnson himself and we already know that Doctor Fate is one character set to appear, with a big star apparently being eyed to play him.
According to sources close to We Got This Covered – the same ones who told us the seeds for the Justice Society of America would be planted in the film almost a year ago, well before The Rock confirmed it – Warner Bros. is looking at Michael Fassbender for the role of Doctor Fate in Black Adam. The future of the Justice League on the big screen doesn’t look too bright right now, following the failure of the 2017 movie featuring the super-friends. Instead, it seems that Warner Bros. is hoping to fill the void by switching the focus to the League’s precursors in the comics, the Justice Society of America, and giving the various Golden Age heroes their own vehicles.
In fact, a source has told We Got This Covered that the studio is planning a film based on Doctor Fate. A story’s reportedly already in place and from what we understand, the movie’s first half will be a period piece and the second half will be set in the modern day. Apparently, WB’s looking for an actor between 30-40 to play the mystical hero and might end up going with a person of color.

The trailer for Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay was designed to make it look like a 1970-s grindhouse film, which could have been an interesting take on the team. What we get instead, isn’t exactly that, and while set within the new DC Animated Universe canon is off in a corner, nor is it particularly good or bad. Out this week from Warner Home Entertainment, the 86-minute feature is most certainly not for children.
There’s a gritty realism to the constant violence and betrayal among the villains seen in this movie, written by Alan Burnett, who certainly knows the characters well. He adapts them from the comics, making adjustments for his needs, so it’s not exactly like their four-color counterparts or as we’ve seen them in other animated fare. There’s certainly a high body count, starting early with the quick dispatching of Tobias Whale (Dave Fennoy...

On Friday, we told you that Michelle Rodriguez (Blacktino) was returning to the Resident Evil franchise, even though her character Rain Campo, which she portrayed in the original Resident Evil film from 2002 was first turned into a zombie and then got a bullet to the brain at the end of the film.
Now, in addition to Rodriguez and returning franchise castmembers, Sienna Guillory, Boris Kodjoe and Colin Salmon, Oded Fehr (For the Love of Money) is returning for Resident Evil: Retribution as well… despite the fact that even though his character, Carlos Rivera managed to live through Resident Evil: Apocalypse, he was forced to blow himself up at the end of Resident Evil: Extinction (see video below).

Superhero Tooniverse: "Denial" seems to be following a pattern of singling out different characters over the past few episodes. Greg Weisman: Exactly. Each of our six episodes focused on a different member of the team, hopefully without losing track of the other five in the process. This episode is Kid Flash-focused, so it’s really about getting into Wally’s head a little more while he’s dealing with concepts he’s not comfortable with, and at the same time allows us to introduce a bit of a backstory of the universe, the idea of the Justice Society, we meet Kent Nelson, we learn a little about Doctor Fate and have a good time with that stuff. Brandon Vietti: What I like about this story is that it’s a little bit of a departure from some of the other shows we’ve got. Our series has the covert ops vibe to it,...

Below is a brief synopsis of Denial courtesy of Newsarama... When the team investigates the disappearance of Kent Nelson (formerly Doctor Fate), the scientific-minded Wally West is forced to confront his disbelief in magic while battling Abra Kadabra and Klarion the Witch Boy for the ultra-powerful helmet of fate. Hawksblueyes: I think it's fairly interesting that Dr. Fate is referred to as "The Sorcerer Supreme" in this episode. I've never heard him called that before and I wonder if marvel may have something to say about it.

It's all falling into place.
We'll be getting a healthy dose of the future when FlashForward's next episode, "The Garden of Forking Paths" airs. It's set on March 15 (the Ides of March), and, as any follower of the show knows, that's the day that Demetri Noh (John Cho) is supposed to die. It's also the day on which blackout mastermind Dyson Frost has predicted his death. Both will be trying to prevent their futures from happening. Can they succeed? According to these promo pictures (and this press release), things are going to be looking pretty tough for Demetri.

Smallville is a show that hasn’t really generated that much intense interest with with true fanboys in it’s 9 seasons, yet we are all pretty excited about the upcoming “Ultimate Justice” event, in which the Justice Society of America make an appearance on the show. We already got a brief look at Michael Shanks as Hawkman earlier last week, and now we get much more to salivate over.
The episode was originally called “Society,” but due to the magnitude of the story, has been stretched to a two-part event entitled “Ultimate Justice.” As well as Shanks, the rest of the guest cast is filled out by Brent Stait (Andromeda) as Kent Nelson/Doctor Fate, Britt Irvin (Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl), Phil Morris as John Jones/Martian Manhunter, and Erica Carroll (Reunion) as Dr. Fate’s wife, Inza.
