Valerie Morehouse is the go to vocal coach for major players in the entertainment business.
At age 20, Valerie was diagnosed with debilitating nodules on her vocal cords. Having sung all her life in top choirs, musicals and the recording industry, the idea of not being able to sing again was not an option. She devoted herself to finding out what causes nodules and how to get rid of them. Part of her journey to full recovery was working with top ENT doctors and speech therapists, and found a passion for helping others overcome similar setbacks.
Valerie created a method that not only increases the singer's range and technical ability, but also keeps the voice healthy while maintaining the singer's signature sound. Working hand in hand with doctors at the forefront of their field to rehabilitate clients who suffer from nodules, polyps, cysts and vocal misuse, Valerie has given new hope to clients who faced the possibility they may never recover.
For nearly two decades, Valerie's personal mission of Vocal Health For Life has transformed the lives of many successful artists working today including: Christina Perri, the cast of Nashville and Galavant on ABC, Avril Lavigne, Hunter Hayes and many other clients on tour and performing on televised and live concerts. She also prepares and rehabs actors' voices for stage, TV and film, including Stephen Tobolowsky (Glee, The Lorax) and television presenters, including Joe Buck - sportscaster for FOX.
Both in her studio in Los Angeles and online via Skype and FaceTime, Valerie mentors and coaches new performers, teaching them the proper singing and speaking tools so they can avoid vocal issues down the road. She works with rising stars on The Voice and other singing TV shows. She uses her skills to prepare students getting ready to attend Juilliard, USC, LACHSA, and NYU. Valerie also preps actors for singing segments on TV shows and movies, including If I Stay, Lucifer and Castle.
