- Hubert Moest was born on December 3, 1877 in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. He was a director and actor, known for Ut mine stromtid (1919), Mouchy (1918) and Galeotto, der große Kuppler (1919). He died on December 5, 1953 in Berlin, Germany.
- The director Hubert Moest began his professional career as a painter before he appeared on stage as an operetta singer and actor from 1895. Finally his engagements led him to Berlin in 1912 where he also began to direct first stage plays.
- In the film metropolis Berlin he soon got in touch with the film business and he took part as an actor in his first movie in 1913.
- Hubert Moest was among others married with the actress Hedda Vernon.
- His last cinematical works as a director came in the 20s into being. Afterwards his film career came to an end and he had to earn his living with different smaller jobs. He appeared a last time in front of the camera in 1942 for the movie "Verschwörung gegen Marco" (1942).
