Gerry Mendoza graduated from Ryerson Polytechnic University's Film
Program with a B.A.A. in Photographic Arts Film Studies. During his
four year tenure, he wrote, produced, directed, shot and edited
numerous student films. After spending two years as an off line
editor/cameraman in Montreal he moved back to Toronto and spent another
two years working as an editor/cameraman. Within the last four years he
has worked extensively in the industry as a technician. His screen
credits range from gaffer on commercials, grip on television series,
1st camera assistant/focus puller, to camera operator on independent
feature films, shorts and music videos. Gerry's cinematography credits
include second unit director of photography on the feature This Prison
I Call My Home and director of photography for the Say and Maroon music
video for Stretch Productions. Gerry also initiated and co-produced the
Maroon video with Stretch director Jorge Manzano. His most recent
cinematography screen credits are a 35mm anti pesticide commercial, a
dramatic short called Wind Taken, as well as camera operator/2nd unit
director of photography on the feature These Onions Don't Make Me Cry
with award winning cinematographer Marc Champion of Ann of Green Gables
fame.
