Demi Lovato is looking for new management. The 31-year-old singer parted ways with Scooter Braun, her longtime manager, in July and is searching for someone new to fill the role, Et has learned.
“This was a mutual and amicable decision to part ways and the two remain close,” a source tells Et.
Lovato joined Braun’s Sb Projects firm in 2019, after previously being managed by Phil McIntyre. She released two albums — Dancing with the Devil… the Art of Starting Over and Holy Fvck — while with Braun’s firm.
Billboard was first to report the news.
Braun manages the likes of Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande. Earlier this month, reports surfaced that Bieber had parted ways with Braun. However, a source told Et at the time that that was untrue.
“Justin and Scooter are still working together,” the source said. “Justin is not taking meetings to look for new management. The...

Demi Lovato has parted ways with talent manager Scooter Braun, with whom she signed in 2019.
Billboard reports that Lovato is seeking new management after splitting with Braun last month. Representatives for the singer and Braun didn’t immediately reply to The Hollywood Reporter’s requests for comment.
Braun’s Sb Projects manages Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Ozuna, Dan + Shay and Ava Max, among others. The news comes days after Puck News reported that Bieber was looking for new management; shortly after the story broke, Braun’s team said the report was false.
J Balvin parted ways with Braun in May, after signing with the manager in 2019.
Under Braun’s direction, Lovato released 2021’s Dancing With the Devil…the Art of Starting Over and 2022’s Holy Fvck. Both albums struggled to launch a hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. She was previously managed by Phil McIntyre of PhilyMack.

Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh, who says still enjoys spikes in sales of his 1993 novel whenever the film 1996 film adaption is aired on TV in the UK, has shared details of the musical he is bringing to stage – a show he says will be even darker than the novel or film.
Welsh told the UK’s Observer newspaper:
“I wanted this to be something very different from either the film or the two versions of the stage play.
“So there are some new characters in there, and to be honest it’s quite a lot darker than the book or the film. It’s going to be quite full-on, but hopefully a great experience.
“Phil McIntyre [promoter and producer] had been asking me for years to do it, and I always said, nah, I’m not doing that.

Kevin, Nick and Joe Jonas are back with a vengeance, and Monday night’s premiere of their documentary “Chasing Happiness” proved it. It was full Jonas Brothers pandemonium outside the Regency Bruin Theatre in Westwood, with fans lining both sides of the street and waiting for hours to catch a glimpse of the reunited band. But the brothers say they never expected the rather impressive welcome back that they’ve gotten from fans, because they weren’t expecting to be back themselves.
“We weren’t intentionally doing a comeback in this doc,” Kevin Jonas told reporters on the black carpet at the documentary’s premiere. “[But] with all the time we spend together and going through the process and finding each other again in that capacity, led to us wanting to do the Jonas Brothers again. And then of course led to new music and then the album coming out on Friday.

The BBC will air a spoof talk-show fronted by an animated Vladimir Putin. The U.K. pubcaster has ordered two pilot episodes of “Tonight With Vladimir Putin,” a semi-scripted talk show hosted by a CGI representation of the Russian leader.
The first guest will be Alistair Campbell, a former high-ranking political spin doctor in the U.K. Other interviewees are plucked from the world of British TV and popular culture. Visual effects specialist Framestore has used performance capture technology to enable the 3D animated Putin character to walk around the set and interact with guests.
The producers said that the animated Putin will be seen trying to get to grips with feminism and diversity. “Everybody’s favorite bear-wrestling global strongman, Vladimir Putin, has finally achieved his ultimate goal: a chat-show on the BBC,” the BBC said as it announced the show.

On the weekend of the Emmys, and of his own 26th birthday, Nick Jonas threw a different kind of soiree — inviting about three dozen studio executives and film producers to a table read of the first dramatic play he’s written, “Dessert First,” at the Chateau Marmont, Variety has learned.
Jonas started writing the play about a year ago while on the set of “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” the action comedy that kick-started his big-screen career after successful runs in pop and television. Since his last solo album debuted at No. 2 in 2016, he’s increasingly turned his attention to film and theatrical prospects. “Dessert First” represents one of the nascent efforts Jonas has developed via a production company he recently started to create vehicles for himself as a writer and actor.

ABC has renewed “American Idol” for another season, the network announced on Friday.
Judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, as well as host Ryan Seacrest are all set to return for the show’s second season on ABC next year, its 17th overall when its original run on Fox is factored in.
Since returning in March, the singing competition has performed decently well for ABC, averaging a respectable 9.3 million viewers and a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with its Sunday telecast. That’s a far cry from the show’s viewership peak during its original run on Fox, but good enough to secure its spot as the top new unscripted show on broadcast this season.

“American Idol” is produced by FremantleMedia North America and Core Media Group’s 19 Entertainment. Executive producers are showrunner Trish Kinane, Fremantle’s Jennifer Mullin and Phil McIntyre of Core Media.
“‘American Idol”s return on ABC has shown once again that viewers love to discover and support raw talent,” said Kinane, president of Entertainment Programming at FremantleMedia. “Our new judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie have brought huge credibility, energy and fun to the show this year, and we are so excited to continue the journey with Ryan Seacrest at the helm in the search for the next superstar.”

The hit single “The Middle,” by Zedd and featuring Maren Morris, is currently on its third week at No. 1 on pop radio – a giant feat for any song but especially so for one that was written well over a year prior and had been recorded by no fewer than 12 top female singers. Among those to take a crack at the vocal: Demi Lovato, Camila Cabello, Anne-Marie, Carly Rae Jepsen, Tove Lo, Bishop Briggs, Bebe Rexha, Lauren Jauregui from Fifth Harmony, Daya and Elle King.
“It was a super long process,” says Stefan Johnson, one-fifth of production team Monsters & Strangerz, who, along with his brother Jordan Johnson and Marcus “Marc Lo” Lomax, shaped the track which was written by Australian newcomer Sarah Aarons. “We never lost the feeling for that song,” adds Jordan Johnson. “Even a year later, I, as a creator hadn’t gotten tired of it. It was special.

Roddy Doyle says admiration for shows such as The Producers finally persuaded him to allow staging of bestselling novel
One very big reason why it has taken 25 years for The Commitments to hit the stage is because Roddy Doyle thought he did not like musicals. "I'd never been to one," the writer said, admitting that he had batted away about 20 requests to bring it to a live audience.
Doyle was in London to announce a West End production of what was both a bestselling book and, in 1991, a hugely successful and popular film directed by Alan Parker. It will begin previews in September at the Palace theatre, where Singin' in the Rain closes in June.
The Booker-prize-winning novelist said he'd had something of an epiphany when he started going to musicals once his children grew up.

Tonight, the three month old mystery of Cambio, the new MTV/YouTube hybrid, has been revealed. Like the boy bands that came before them, the Jonas Brothers have evolved from a band into a brand — landing them at #60 on Forbes Top 100 Celebrity list last year. In February of this year the trio, which signed to Hollywood Records in 2006, launched the mysterious and eponymous Jonas Group, to be helmed by their father, Kevin Jonas, Sr., in partnership with their longtime manager, Philip McIntyre. The net was abuzz with speculation that the Jonas Brothers were forming their own label — but it turns out they were up to something a lot more savvy. They had launched an entertainment company. Word of Cambio first snuck out when the Jonas Brothers published a video about the service on YouTube on April 9, 2010. The vid garnered half a million views, but didn’t offer much insight into...

Streetdance 3d may not necessarily have been on our readers radar but in the UK, the movie made a massive £9.5m and even managed to take more money that Disney’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time in it’s opening weekend.
Although the movie was only released in Europe (in fact it’s opening in Sweden today), it’s been rather a large success for it’s producers, Vertigo Films , BBC Films and Little Gaddesden Productions and it looks like they’re willing to capitalise on this success.
The Daily Mail today has an article which looks at up and coming British actress Holliday Grainger and if you look close enough, they also have one paragraph half way down the article which states that not only is a sequel to Streetdance 3d in the works, they’re also planning a live stage-show for December.
