From slow-burn thrillers to car chases and fight sequences, there’s a movie for everyone.
It’s too late to write about horror movies and too early to write about holiday movies… so to celebrate the release of Prime Video’s latest spy movie, “Canary Black,” here’s a list of the top 7 spy movies you can watch on streaming right now. I haven’t seen “Canary Black” yet and there aren’t many reviews out there, but if you want to check it out, the movie follows top-level CIA agent Avery Graves who gets blackmailed by terrorists into betraying her own country to save her kidnapped husband. Pretty standard spy stuff. And while you’ve probably heard of many of the movies on my list, there’s nothing “standard” about them – they’re one hell of a good ride. So, here are the top 7 spy movies on streaming right now.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for NCIS Season 22 Episode 3 “The Trouble With Hal.”] We still miss Ducky (and David McCallum), and NCIS reminds us just how much we do with the latest episode, starting with Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) wanting to turn his office into a state-of-the-art gym! Ducky’s office has remained untouched for almost a year, and so Torres wants to take advantage of the space. He’s talked to Vance (Rocky Carroll), who told him to run a petition to see how many people like the idea. McGee (Sean Murray) knows Palmer (Brian Dietzen) won’t like it. While he works out, “he also might be too sentimental about Ducky’s office to want to change it to anything,” McGee points out. Doesn’t Knight (Katrina Law) agree? The awkwardness around Knight and Palmer’s breakup continues, with her saying she doesn’t know. As soon as Palmer talks about how “the only constant...

Prompted by the massive success of the gothic soap opera Dark Shadows, ABC released dozens of thrillers and horror movies under their Movie of the Week banner between 1969 and 1975. Starting in 1973, the network branched out into late-night programming intended to compete with talk show king Johnny Carson over on NBC, and the five feature-length telefilms collected as The Classic Ghosts by Kino Cult originally aired in that slot.
These telefilms were shot live on two-inch tape in a manner akin to daytime dramas, which does lead to the occasional flubbed line of dialogue. Furthering the comparison, two of the movies were directed by Lela Swift, who helmed over half of Dark Shadows’s approximately 1,200 episodes. Gloria Monty, who directed two others, went on to radically reshape the floundering soap General Hospital in the late ’70s. It’s notable that the creative team behind the telefilms were mostly women. Besides directors Swift and Monty,...

An NCIS: Tony & Ziva sneak peek arrived for fans attending the 2024 MIPCOM. This annual trade show for the television industry happens in Cannes, France.
Former NCIS stars Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo joined Dan Cohen, the head of Paramount Global distribution and Republic Pictures, to tease the new spin-off.
Michael and Cote played NCIS agents Tony Dinozzo and Ziva David. The duo was on-screen together for 10 years, but they have each left NCIS since then.
Cote returned in 2019 for an intense story arc as Leroy Jethro Gibbs (played by Mark Harmon) was close to leaving the show. Michael later resurfaced to play Tony during an episode paying homage to Dr. Donald Mallard (played by David McCallum).
Following Michael’s appearance on NCIS Season 21, it was revealed that a new NCIS spin-off had been approved. It is a vehicle for the characters of Tony and Ziva, picking up with the...

Due to the writer’s strike last year, many of our returning shows had a reduced episode count. Now as we get back into the regular schedule, what does this mean for shows like NCIS and FBI? How many episodes can we expect to see for the 2024-2025 season?
Now while there is not a set number for any of the shows, TVLine did report that fans would not be disappointed with the amount of episodes. From the sounds of things, there will be more than 10 episodes than the shortened previous seasons.
For NCIS in particular, there were only 10 episodes, which included a tribute episode to the late David McCallum. Then the finale set up a possible exit for Agent Jessica Knight, although recent information as confirmed that we will see actress Katrina Law in season 22.

When you have a successful series that’s lasted as long as NCIS, you naturally have cast turnovers for different reasons. Often, the actors leave to pursue other roles.
But while they may move on with their lives, dedicated fans cling to the memory of their characters and celebrate when we get a reunion.

Fans learned the news of the two latest NCIS spinoffs in early 2024. NCIS: Origins will air alongside the original NCIS series in the Fall 2024 TV lineup.

Late-night horror series The Classic Ghosts has rarely been seen since airing on ABC’s Wide World of Mystery in 1973, but that’s about to change.
The UCLA Film & Television Archive has preserved all five installments, coming to Blu-ray on October 29 via Kino Lorber’s Kino Cult line. Watch the exclusive trailer below.
Produced by broadcast pioneer Jacqueline Babbin, The Classic Ghosts was celebrated upon its debut for being made by a predominantly female crew, including trailblazing television directors Gloria Monty (General Hospital) and Lela Swift (Studio One).
Shot on videotape in the style of a soap opera, with expressive and colorful production design, The Classic Ghosts has an immediacy and otherworldliness akin to Dark Shadows — not surprising since two of the directors (Swift and Henry Kaplan) directed hundreds of episodes of the classic horror TV series.

NCIS became a massive popular show after its first couple of seasons on air. Soon, it was able to reach a broader international audience. Some countries might’ve even treated the NCIS stars better than the States did.

Weatherly and his cast had no idea how successful NCIS would become. Before he snagged his role as Tony Dinozzo, the actor admittedly had more misses than hits. Perhaps his most successful show before NCIS was the James Cameron series Dark Angel, and even that only lasted for two seasons. Weatherly had gotten so used to the career disappointments by then, that he felt his new role as Tony Dinozzo would follow the same pattern.

NCIS fans are eagerly awaiting the premiere of season 22, but it may be a hard one for Jessica Knight! Here’s what we know!
Season 21 was a tough for fans and not just because it was delayed for months by the 2023 Hollywood strikes. First, the team had to bid a sad farewell to Ducky (the late David McCallum). Then Jessica (Katrina Law) had her father drop by to help with a case, and it turned out that she had never told him that she was dating Jimmy (Brian Dietzen).
Jessica’s dad was near obsessed with making sure she stuck to “the plan” to keep up her career to eventually become NCIS director. That came up in the season finale when Jessica was offered a big promotion training the React team in San Diego. After she and Parker barely survived being locked in a sinking ship, Jessica agreed to take the job.

NCIS season 21 is out on DVD and it has fun features that fans will enjoy. Not only will you get to relive the magic of all ten episodes, you can watch one episode that also features audio commentary from the cast and crew involved with the series.
Season 21, as you may recall, opened up with Agent Nick Torres dealing with an unwanted familiar face from his past. Almost immediately following, the team had to say goodbye to their beloved friend and colleague, Dr. Mallard. Even though the season was shortened due to the writer’s strike, it still provided us with plenty of stories about each of the characters.
With the ending of the season leaving some character journeys in question, the DVD is a great way to relive the magic of season 21 before NCIS season 22 debuts on October 14, 2024.

Henry Cavill has a slew of successful projects under his belt, whether it be his stint as Superman or The Witcher’s Geralt of Rivia. But in 2015, Cavill took on the role of Napoleon Solo in The Man from U.N.C.L.E., embracing the character’s suave and sophisticated demeanor without any concern for stereotypes.

For nearly two decades, a film adaptation of the hit 1960s spy series "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." seemed perpetually on the brink of getting made. Warner Bros. nearly enticed Quentin Tarantino to take it on in the mid-1990s as his hotly anticipated follow-up to "Pulp Fiction," but he chose to make "Jackie Brown" instead. Directors like Matthew Vaughn and David Dobkin circled the project. A-listers Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Christian Bale and Ryan Reynolds (among many others) eyed the film at one point or another. Steven Soderbergh came very close to helming a version starring George Clooney as Napoleon Solo (the role originated by Robert Vaughn), but he backed out over budget issues. The film was a go in 2013 with Guy Ritchie directing Tom Cruise and Armie Hammer as, respectively, Solo and Illya Kuryakin (played by David McCallum on the show), but Cruise stuck with Ethan Hunt and the "Mission: Impossible" franchise.

De Pablo left NCIS in 11 before returning for the Season 16 finale and four episodes of Season 17. Weatherly exited at the end of Season 13 and was last seen at the end of the tribute to Ducky and the late David McCallum in the current 21st season. The new series was given a straight-to-series order on February 28. “We’ve been talking about this story for many years, and now with John McNamara at the helm, we are ready,” said Weatherly and de Pablo at the time. “The world of Tony and Ziva (and daughter Tali) promises to be an action-packed roller coaster fueled by love, danger, tears and laughter. Before Rudi is about to flip the switch, though, he dives into a monologue, complete with a “once upon a time” beginning, in which he brags about the human experiments he conducted as a scientist during the war, with Napoleon about to be his latest test subject.

NCIS may have entered its new era of drastic changes which will result in some characters coming and going, but only one of them is set to become the most frequent visitor in the entire franchise.

CBS’ long-standing police procedural franchise NCIS has been on the screens long enough to form a real bond not only between its characters, but also between its lead actors. CBS’ long-standing police procedural franchise NCIS has been on the screens long enough to form a real bond not only between its characters, but also between its lead actors. The show features several romantically involved couples or just groups of friends that got created years after their work together, and the real-life actors aren’t an exception.

When it comes to police procedurals, whether on the ground or in the courtroom, audiences can usually count on the series staying on for much longer than most other genres.
However, NCIS seems to be an immortal juggernaut that is only gaining more steam with every season it earns and every spinoff it gains, primarily due to fans who can't get enough of its stories and characters.
And, sure, the series has had its fair share of cast and character shake-ups, but that is to be expected after over two decades of a successful broadcast run.
The most recent season, in particular, left viewers at the edge of their seats foaming at the mouth for more, but don't worry because TV Fanatic has you covered with everything we know so far about NCIS Season 22!

NCIS is the TV show that started the trend of projects about NCIS as an independent law enforcement. The project became so popular that it spawned a number of spin-offs.
It's no secret that actors in popular television shows receive substantial paychecks, and if you're interested in specific figures for the main stars of NCIS who are still in the project or have already left it, you can find them here.
5. Wilmer Valderrama as Nicholas Torres — $100,000
Nick appeared in the premiere episode of season 14, replacing fan favorite Tony Dinozzo. He returned to D.C. to bring the person responsible for his brother-in-law's death to justice. At first, Nick seemed too hot-tempered, but over time he joined the team and became an integral part of it.
Wilmer Valderrama, who plays Torres, earns about $100,000 per episode.
4. David McCallum as Dr. Donald Mallard — $175,000
Unfortunately, NCIS lost one of the longest-running characters in Season 21 — Dr.

Way back in 2003, the hit CBS series Jag introduced its audience to Jethro Gibbs and his crack team of investigators, who focus on navy-related crimes from the forensics and investigative side.
This 'back-door pilot' led the way to NCIS, which is now in its 21st season and has inspired multiple spin-offs.
There's a lot to celebrate about this success, and recently the show paid homage to its roots with a landmark 1,000th episode. However, two major snubs ruffled the feathers of some fans, and for good reason.
All The Way Back To The Start
In episode #1000, appropriately named 'A Thousand Yards', NCIS Director Leon Vance is shot while arguing with his estranged son Jared. When the culprit is revealed to be Jared's new girlfriend, Lindsey Wexler, it doesn't take the team long to discover that she is daughter of sleeper agent Leonard Rush, whom Gibbs took down in the very...

Could the return of two fan-favorite characters to the NCIS universe mean more familiar faces might soon be making an appearance in the CBS franchise? It doesn’t take a team of federal agents to figure out that if you picked up this magazine, you’re probably one of the 300 million people from around the world who watched some version of NCIS last year. That’s just a smidge under the entire population of the United States. The massive fandom around the military procedural, which reigns as the most watched drama on broadcast TV, began in 2003 with a spectacular series premiere from cocreators Donald P. Bellisario and Don McGill. The episode, inspired by the 1997 movie Air Force One, introduced what would become the show’s signature recipe of action, emotion, and a dash of humor when agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard (David McCallum) investigate a mysterious death aboard the presidential plane. We fell in love with Gibbs’ gruffness and Ducky’s intellect. We were intrigued by the twisty case...

NCIS Season 21 is going by very quickly. Fans may be upset to learn it’s also already half over.
The two Hollywood strikes not only delayed production for months – it has also led to a much shorter season.
Five episodes from Season 21 have already aired, with only five new ones left to debut this spring.
Hopefully, CBS will order NCIS Season 22 soon, so fans can look forward to more new content next year.
Previous episodes of NCIS are also available for streaming on Paramount+, allowing fans to enjoy older content during the upcoming summer hiatus. That includes the Ducky tribute episode that said goodbye to David McCallum earlier this season.
As for the remaining episodes this season, some noteworthy ones are already on the CBS TV schedule.
NCIS Season 21, Episode 6 information
A new episode called Strange Invaders airs on Monday, April 1. This serves as NCIS Season 21, Episode 6. It debuts at 9/8c on CBS.

NCIS stars Michael Weatherly and Pauley Perrette were both known for their quick humor in the long-running action thriller. But their characters being so funny didn’t always stem from the show’s script. Rather, it was just something they both agreed the show needed.

NCIS could be an action heavy program full of stakes and drama. But the series was often able to balance out its darker subject matter with humor. Weatherly and Perrette played a huge part in making sure the show didn’t take itself too seriously.

CBS has already renewed a few shows for the 2024-2025 season—Tracker (Season 2), Ghosts (Season 4), and Fire Country (Season 3)—and one that seems to be a lock, for its 22nd season, is NCIS. “You never know how things are going to go,” Sean Murray (who has played Timothy McGee on the long-running procedural since its first season) tells TV Insider. “But knowing the way that things are going now and seeing the response we’re getting here in this sort of abbreviated Season 21, I think things will go well and I would expect to see a Season 22, very much so.” That sentiment echoes what Brian Dietzen (who has been playing Dr. Jimmy Palmer since Season 1) told us ahead of the special tribute episode to the late David McCallum and his character, Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard, he co-wrote. “I’m hoping [there will be another season]. For its tribute to the late David McCallum and his character, Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard, NCIS pulled off quite the surprise: the return of Michael Weatherly as Tony Dinozzo. It was kept under wraps, besides those who needed to know, and the scene allowed for the show to honor Ducky and reunite Tony with close friends Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) and Dr. Jimmy Palmer. It, of course, included a new nickname for McGee (McHurry). When TV Insider caught up with Murray — lots of fun stuff to come from this chat, but here’s the start! —we asked him about filming that as well as the upcoming Tony and Ziva spinoff with Weatherly and Cote de Pablo. Michael Weatherly just returned for that fantastic tribute to Ducky and David McCallum, and that episode made me cry. It was so good. Sean Murray: That was a really good one. And Dietzen helped pen that one.

Perhaps mindful of previous years, in which eagle-eyed viewers have jumped on omissions, this year’s “In Memoriam” — which began with footage of the recently deceased Russian opposition leader and subject of last year’s winning documentary Navalny — seemed comprehensive but at the same time not enough.

Get ready for the return of Ziva and Tony. Paramount+ has ordered a new NCIS spin-off revolving around the franchise's beloved couple played by Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly.
The actors have reprised their roles (separately) several times over the years since their departures from the NCIS series. Weatherly appeared in last week's episode, honoring the loss of actor David McCallum aka Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard, while de Pablo last played Ziva in 2020.

CBS and Paramount+ just made a huge NCIS announcement.
A new NCIS spin-off focusing on Tony and Ziva is coming soon.
Paramount+ has ordered the new series, with Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo starring as the lead characters.
Having CBS Studios expand the NCIS Universe further is a treat for fans.
Michael and Cote left NCIS to focus on other things, with Michael moving over to his new show, Bull.
Michael also returned for the Ducky tribute episode as NCIS honored David McCallum after his death.
A big hint that more might be coming from Michael was when he teased that he wasn’t finished with his character just yet.

Paramount+ announced today that it has given a 10-episode series order for an untitled “NCIS” spinoff centered on the beloved characters Tony Dinozzo and Ziva David, with Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly (“Loving”) reprising the iconic roles.
Slated to begin production later this year, the all-new series reunites de Pablo and Weatherly on screen for the first time in 10 years. The two also will serve as executive producers alongside John McNamara, who wrote the premiere episode and will serve as showrunner. Laurie Lieser, Christina Strain and Shelley Meals will also executive produce.
Following Ziva’s supposed death, Tony left the NCIS team to raise their daughter. Years later, Ziva was discovered alive, leading her to complete one final mission with NCIS before she was reunited with Tony and their daughter in Paris. Since then – and where we find them in the new Paramount+ original series – Tony and Ziva have been raising their daughter,...

The NCIS franchise is expanding again — with a pair of very familiar faces from its past.
Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly are set to star in an untitled, Paris-set spinoff of the series, reprising their roles as, respectively, Ziva David and Tony Dinozzo. The series order comes on the heels of Weatherly returning to the flagship CBS series last week as NCIS paid tribute to the late David McCallum.
De Pablo left NCIS in 2013, and Weatherly departed two years later. In the show’s story, Tony left the service to raise his and Ziva’s daughter after her supposed death. When she was discovered to be still alive years later (de Pablo made several guest appearances in season 17), she completed a final mission and was reunited with Tony and their daughter in Paris.
The new series will pick up from there. Per the show’s logline, “When Tony’s security company is attacked,...
