One of the biggest questions facing “Better Call Saul” fans as the show heads into its sixth and final season is what happens to Rhea Seehorn’s beloved character, Kim Wexler. Considering Kim is the love interest of Bob Odenkirk’s unscrupulous title character in “Better Call Saul” but is never seen or mentioned in “Breaking Bad,” many “Better Call Saul” fans assume Kim is dead during the events of “Breaking Bad.” Is Kim’s death an inevitable plot point for “Better Call Saul” Season 6? Odenkirk says not so fast.
“I really truly don’t [think Kim is dead],” Odenkirk recently told the Guardian when asked about the ending. “I try not to find out those things. I like being surprised just like a viewer of the story. I have my own theories, but they’re just basically fan theories.”
Odenkirk then offered his own fan theory: “I don’t think she dies. I think she’s in Albuquerque,...

Rose Byrne’s character in Jon Stewart’s political satire “Irresistible” is a mix of Mary Matalin and Kellyanne Conway, a potent blend of old school Republican strategist with a new age Trumpian media wrangler.
It’s on the opposite end of the spectrum from her other recent portrayal of Gloria Steinem in “Mrs. America,” but Byrne said of “Irresistible” that she had fun playing her character Faith Brewster, and she was encouraged by Stewart to always keep her performance “playful.”
“Someone like Faith is a true political animal. She lives with some blood on her hands, she loves the fight, she loves the game, so that’s her kind of drug I think, a true political beast,” Byrne told TheWrap. “Jon was always telling me to just make her playful in her position. She loves the element of the game of it.”

There was a time when Jon Stewart was clearly one of the sharpest comic minds on TV, and also one of its most astute political voices. And maybe if Stewart’s new movie, “Irresistible,” had come out at that time, it too would feel timely and trenchant.
But things are different now than in Stewart’s heyday, which came in the first 15 years of this century when he was hosting “The Daily Show.” And while it wasn’t that long ago that Stewart was an essential part of political discourse, the world has undergone such seismic changes that a comedy about how crazy elections are may feel out of touch and even curiously tame by the time it comes to VOD and some theaters on Friday, June 26.
Sure, “Irresistible” gets some laughs as it tars both Democrats and Republicans with the same brush, and it slides in a few effective...

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway objected to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer as he concluded an interview by showing an MSNBC clip of her husband, George Conway, offering a scathing critique of President Donald Trump. Watch their exchange above.
Kellyanne Conway is one of the president’s most visible defenders; her husband is one of his most prolific conservative critics, particularly on social media.
But they have declined to talk about their personal lives, and she has objected strenuously when it has been raised in interviews, and she did so again with Blitzer.
Near the end of an interview on Thursday, Blitzer said that he wanted to bring up a “sensitive” topic but added: “I don’t want to talk about your marriage. I know there are issues there.”
Conway replied, “What did you just say? Why did you say that?”

Anthony Weiner made headlines for a lot of unseemly reasons in 2015, but it started with a documentary. When “Weiner” premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last January, it was an instant sensation. Directors Josh Kriegman and Elyse Steinberg provide a jarring closeup on the scandal-ridden congressman’s ill-fated mayoral campaign, which started as a tale of redemption and climaxed in embarrassment, with Weiner’s sexting addiction stifling his momentum.
More than that, the movie — currently on the shortlist for the best documentary Oscar — gained in relevance as the year continued, with Hillary Clinton aide and Weiner spouse Huma Abedin separating from her husband in the midst of Clinton’s presidential campaign as more allegations came to light. Later, news of an FBI investigation into Weiner’s emails led to a public letter from FBI director James Comey that many believe to have played a key role in the outcome of the 2016 presidential election.

Will this election never end?
The presidential race is dragged out once more on Madam Secretary Season 3 Episode 8. At least this time the situation at State might actually be relevant. I still doubt we'll see enough to make this arc worth it though.
On the upside, the party at the bar provided some good non-work scenes for the Senior Staff. Oh, and Jason got a dressing down from Henry. So there was that anyway.
Starting with the poor little rich boy: While I was glad to see Henry finally school him in how much he doesn't know, this kid also needs to figure out just how privileged he is before he starts waxing about the people's revolution.
He's a white, seemingly straight, cis male from a family that is easily in the top percentages of the population when it comes to wealth.
Boy needs to check himself. Also, rebelling by supporting a major party candidate?...

Sandra Bullock and Billy Bob Thornton fail to convince as rival Us spin-doctors on the presidential campaign trail in Bolivia
This is a disappointing fictional version of Rachel Boynton’s 2005 documentary Our Brand Is Crisis, about Us political consultant James Carville, the Democrat spin-doctor who famously married his Republican opponent Mary Matalin after the 1992 Us presidential campaigns. It’s a laboured and unoriginal satire, directed by David Gordon Green, which finds a cynical theme-variation in this unlikeliest of Romeo and Juliet unions, and makes a meal of Carville’s real-life adventure in 2002, when he masterminded a Bolivian presidential campaign.

Early in the new Cinemax drama "The Knick," Dr. John Thackery boasts of "the astonishing modern world in which we live," insisting that "We now live in a time of endless possibility. More has been learned about the human body in the last five years than in the previous 500." What is such an astonishing time to him is a very quaint one for us, since "The Knick" (it premieres Friday at 10) takes place in Manhattan in the year 1900. Viewed through a modern lens, Thackery's surgical techniques seem primitive, even barbarous, but in the context of his time — when a procedure we take for granted like an appendectomy is still considered dangerous and experimental — he and his colleagues are miracle workers. "The Knick" arrives in an era where the possibilities for television drama are as limitless as they were for medicine in 1900. It's a period where a Matthew McConaughey can commit...

Currently in a rebuilding phase after a precipitous slide from its former dominance of the cable-news world, CNN has been adding new on-air talent, such as former ABC News correspondent Jake Tapper, and is also reaching back into its past.
Last week, CNN revived the current-events/debate program "Crossfire," blending a long-running format with a roster of new faces. The daily 30-minute show features two hosts and guests each night, with the co-hosts also appearing across other CNN programming.
From 1982 until 2005, "Crossfire" was a mainstay of the network's daytime lineup, examining the news from the points of view of a politically liberal and a conservative pundit.
The first pairing was journalist and author Tom Braden ("Eight Is Enough") on the liberal side, and commentator, politician and broadcaster Pat Buchanan, as the conservative.

CNN contributors Van Jones and Mary Matalin battled on Wednesday over the meaning of the 2012 election results and the likelihood that there could be meaningful compromise between President Barack Obama and House Republicans in his second term. Matalin became frustrated with Jones’s assertion that Obama had won a mandate for balanced deficit reduction and said that he had run a “divisive” campaign lobbying to give out “free contraception” and “taxing the rich.”...

The panel on This Week today argued over whether Mitt Romney should release more years of tax returns in order to disclose his finances for the past few years. Mary Matalin said the whole thing is a distraction, but Matthew Dowd told her if she were running the campaign, she would disclose the information. He also thought of Obama's powerful attacks on Romney as "karma" for when Romney launched similarly strong attacks on his Republican primary rivals.

On ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos on Sunday, Republican strategist Mary Matalin said that she believed that it was appropriate for society to have a conversation on the definition of marriage. She said it is a conversation worth having and “worth having civilly.” Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen responded by saying that “straight people don’t need any help tearing down the institution of marriage.”...

Chris Hegedus and Da Pennebaker's The War Room (1993), now out on DVD and Blu-ray from Criterion, "captures all the voyeuristic you-are-there immediacy of its Direct Cinema forebears, stretching as far back as 1960's Primary, on which Pennebaker served as editor," begins Bud Wilkins in Slant. "Yet it also signals a sea change in the filmmakers' involvement with behind-the-scenes politics, capturing the process just as quantum leaps in communication technology forever altered the ways campaigning gets done."
As if to emphasize that point, David Weigel, introducing his interview with Hegedus and Pennebaker for Slate (Nigel M Smith talks with them, too, for indieWIRE), writes: "They got lucky, and probably no one will ever get this lucky again."
"The real stroke of fortune," writes Louis Menand for Criterion, "was the discovery, within the chaos of the campaign, of a classic buddy story. In the unconventionally charming and disarming [senior strategist James] Carville and the telegenic and enigmatic adviser George Stephanopoulos,...

Comedian, actress and Washington insider Ali Wentworth played "Plead The Fifth" on "Watch What Happens Live" (Weeknights, 11 p.m. Est on Bravo) Tuesday night.
The first question was, which political couple would she and husband George Stephanopoulos want to have "a key party" with? With no hesitation at all, she plumped for Ragin' Cajun James Carville and his wife Mary Matalin.
Next up was, "Where's the craziest place you and George have made whoopee?" There was no chance of her answering that one, as she laughingly plead the fifth.
Last question concerned Wentworth's years as a cast member on "In Living Color." Who was her least favorite person to work with on the show? "Tupac."
Why? "Because he did our show and he shot his limo driver and it made our taping three hours late."
Stay tuned for more celebrity scoop on "Watch What Happens Live," Weeknights at 11 p.m.

Fox Business Network played an Imus In The Morning highlight reel on Monday, which included a clip of Don Imus talking to Republican strategist Mary Matalin about the 2012 election and primary season. Like the gay poltergeists in your television, they’re baaaack. Det. Jane Rizzoli and Dr. Maura Isles have returned to solve Boston’s toughest crimes and bicker like an old married couple. The winter run brings us five more episodes and – with any luck – 10 episodes worth of eye sex, Totally Gratuitous, Totally Gay Touching and other assorted extremely lesbian behaviors from supposedly non-lesbian characters. So strap in and put on your subtext goggles. This is gonna be good.
Have you noticed how Rizzoli & Isles has started doing its openers in a totally different way than the rest of the show? They’re either really stylized or really violent, with a tone and pacing in marked contrast to the remainder of the episode. They also don’t use the cute little Irish jig transition music in the background. Just something I noticed while waiting for Jane and Maura to appear together to gay up my screen.

Finally, something cute about the Rep. Anthony Weiner social media sex scandal: earlier today on CNN, Randi Kaye hosted a discussion about the Congressman's transgressions and his refusal to resign with Jane Velez-Mitchell and Mary Matalin. Matalin surely had some worthy insights into the saga during her segment, but whatever they may have been, it's safe to say they were overshadowed by the adorable cat grooming itself in the backdrop of her shot.

America has but a few months’ wait until the release of former vice president Dick Cheney’s autobiography, In My Time: A Personal and Political Memoir, which he co-wrote with his daughter, genuinely terrifying neocon Liz Cheney. “As his vice presidency was novel, Dick Cheney’s memoir is unique, in its scope and depth and honesty, with the lagniappe of one-of-a kind daughter/partner production; clear eyed history and forward analysis,” Mary Matalin, former Cheney counselor, told Politico. “Oh yeah pick your metaphor: sacred cows, ruffled feathers, broken eggs.” We’ll go with “shooting a friend in the chest”, thanks. Liz Cheney elaborated, though only slightly, to the Associated Press that In My Time contains “a whole range of interesting stories that haven’t been talked about.” Let’s guess these interesting stories now, for another round of our favorite political-memoir game, Guess! Yep, public radio, that leftward bastion of left-leaning liberal leftyness! "Left, Right & Center," Kcrw's politically-themed panel-discussion show, just got weighted quite a bit more to the conservative side, with the addition of noted Gop political consultant Mary Matalin, La Observed reports. Matalin, who is famously married to Democratic political strategist James Carville, will take over -- on an interim basis -- the spot left vacant by the departure of the left-leaning Arianna Huffington. Thor - Avengers #1 (1963) Thor was a founding member of the Avengers when he and four other heroes banded together to fight his evil brother Loki. In The Adjustment Bureau, Matt Damon is a politician, Emily Blunt is a contemporary dancer, and free will is a joke. The title of George Nolfi's first film comes from a group of bureaucrats who work to keep things in line with "the plan." The movie starts off somewhat awkwardly using a montage with Damon's character David Norris on the campaign trail. In this montage: politician cameos (Madeleine Albright! Wesley Clark! etc.) and talking heads who are given the task of telling us about his character. In the first five minutes of the film, we learn more about his background from pundit Mary Matalin than from anyone else, which just seems strange.
Norris is young and hip, but still loses his Senate campaign. As he practices his concession speech in the bathroom of the Waldorf, he meets cute with wedding crasher Elisa (Blunt). They are drawn to each other,...

Talk about stealing the bride's limelight on her special day.
Global music legend and outspoken gay marriage advocate Elton John is certainly in a lot of the wedding photos that conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh just posted on his Facebook page.
The Rocket Man, 63, serenaded the 400 guests at Limbaugh's Saturday (Aug 7) wedding to his fourth wife, Kathryn Rogers, who is 26 years his junior. People reports that the couple had a lavish reception in the Ponce de Leon ballroom of the Breakers hotel in Palm Beach.
How much was Sir Elton paid for his night's work? $1 million. Gulp.
Wedding guests included former Bush adviser Karl Rove; actor-politician Fred Thompson; former Kansas City Royals slugger George Brett; Fox News commentator Sean Hannity; former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani; former Clinton adviser James Carville and his wife, Gop analyst Mary Matalin; and golfer Tom Watson. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas was also in the house.

Hollywoodnews.com: Conservative right was entertained by far flung left after radio commentator Rush Limbaugh hired Elton John to sing at his wedding.
Per People magazine, John, who is an outspoken gay civil-union advocate, crooned to a crowd of 400 until the late hours of Saturday. Limbaugh, 59, tied the knot with Kathryn Rogers, 33, in Palm Beach, Florida.
Price for Limbaugh to hire Elton John: $1 million. Given John’s politics, it’s jaw-dropping to hear that he would actually play at the wedding of someone so controversial as Limbaugh. No word as to whether John will donate his paycheck to charity.
The wedding included an all-star line-up from the Republican party including: former Bush adviser Karl Rove; actor-politician Fred Thompson; former Kansas City Royals slugger George Brett; Fox News commentator Sean Hannity; former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani; New England Patriots owner Bob Kraft; former Clinton adviser James Carville and his wife,...

Whalelike radio performer Rush Limbaugh tied the knot with some lady last weekend in Palm Beach, Florida. According to The Palm Beach Post and People, some very notable, very alienating people were in attendance: Sean Hannity, James Carville, Mary Matalin, Rudy Giuliani, and Clarence Thomas were all there, and so was Elton John, who performed at the reception. The price tag of an Elton John concert of one’s own? One million dollars, People reports. This figure seems a bit low! In 2009, Reuters found that of all wedding performers, “Elton John is the second most expensive, charging over $2 million for private performances although all earnings from his private concerts go to his charity, the Elton John AIDS Foundation.”...

Rush Limbaugh, 59, wed Kathryn Rogers, 33, on Saturday at the elite South Florida resort The Breakers, The Palm Beach Post reports. The matrimony attracted a long list of high profile guests, causing the need for a large security presence. "Law & Order" star and former presidential candidate Fred Thompson, former White House advisors Karl Rove and James Carville, political analyst Mary Matalin, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, and fellow radio show host Sean Hannity smiled and shed tears as the couple exchanged vows. A total of 400 guests were also treated to a performance by Elton John. To protect the safety of Rush's prestigious guest list, an entourage of 50 private security guards and three uniformed Palm Beach Police officers were stationed in and around the event, sources at The Breakers told the newspaper. Rush and Kathryn's love story began in 2004 when they met at a charity golf tournament.

Winkie dinks caught in the cookie jar? Ouch.
On his verbal sparring partner Ann Coulter:
