The actor Martin Urtel first learned the profession of a graphic artist before he took acting lessons at the Berliner Staatstheater.
After his departure from Berlin in direction to Munich he continued his theater career at the Munich Kammerspielen, where he acted till 1945.
In the 70s followed his last cinematical works. With "Die Fälschung" (1981) he said goodbye from film and TV.
He made his film debut in 1941 and he continued his career after the war both at the theater and in the film business. Later he also was active for television.
He was already engaged for the stage by Gustaf Gründgens in 1932 for whom he worked till 1935.
