Zawe Ashton, Hayley Squires And Daniel Mays Land Leads In BBC Adaptation Of ‘Maryland’
Lucy Kirkwood’s play Maryland is being adapted for the BBC and Zawe Ashton (Fresh Meat), Hayley Squires and Daniel Mays have landed the lead roles. The 30-minute adaptation of the Royal Court play will be called Mary and air on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer on July 20. Kirkwood and doc director Brian Hill are co-directors on the story, which is billed as a “artistic response to recent real-life events” such as the murders of British women Sarah Everard, Bibaa Henry, Nicole Smallman and Sabina Nessa, grappling with the violence facing women in their everyday lives. It is said if you want something done, give the task to a busy person. Well, Breckin Meyer certainly fits that description. He is an actor, a comedian, a writer, producer and a drummer. The good news is he seems to have fun doing all those things, proof being, he usually has a smile on his face. Breckin Erin Meyer was born on May 7, 1974 in Minneapolis Minnesota and his star sign is Taurus. His father Christopher William Meyer is a management consultant and his mother, Dorothy Ann (nee Vial), is a travel agent and former microbiologist. They are divorced. Breckin has a older brother, Frank, and a younger brother, Adam. His brother Frank Meyer is a staffer and producer of Fresh Ink Online. Breckin has lived in California, Texas, West Virginia and New Jersey. Meyer went to elementary school with Drew Barrymore and that is where he came into contact with Barrymore's agent.
