- Was the very first credited Klingon ever seen. In Errand of Mercy (1967), he stepped into the room just before his captain did, thus making him the first.
- In addition to acting, he sidelined as a singer and songwriter. He released two albums of ballads, entitled "Little Owl" and "The Storyteller". The "Little Owl" album has the song "Robinson Crusoe on Mars" written and sung by him.
- Was also going to take the role of Linarcos in The Poseidon Adventure (1972). He passed up the role to work on another project and Fred Sadoff got the part.
