In today’s film news roundup, Sony moves James Gunn’s horror movie, Craig Sheffer gets a supernatural role, “Best Thanksgiving Ever” gets a release and Annapurna signs a music publishing deal.
Date Change
Sony has moved the previously untitled James Gunn horror project “BrightBurn” back from Nov. 30 of this year to May 24, 2019 — the start of the Memorial Day weekend.
The studio unveiled the name “BrightBurn” on Monday along with the date change. Gunn produced the project with The H Collective. “BrightBurn” stars Elizabeth Banks, Jackson Dunn, David Denman, Meredith Hagner, and Matt Jones. Gunn’s brother Brian Gunn and cousin Mark Gunn wrote the script, with David Yarovesky directing.
Gunn had been set to appear on a panel to discuss the project at San Diego Comic-Con in July, but his appearance was canceled after news broke that Disney had fired Gunn as director of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” due to offensive tweets.

Fitness model Greg Plitt killed in train accident: Plitt was the 'body' of Dr. Manhattan in 'Watchmen' movie Fitness model Greg Plitt, best known for adorning countless fitness magazine covers and for his participation on the reality TV show Work Out, was killed by a passenger train while being videotaped last Saturday afternoon, January 17, 2015, in Burbank, about 20 kilometers northwest of downtown Los Angeles. Authorities are now trying to figure out how Plitt and his two-person crew were able to access a restricted area – without a filming permit – and what exactly they were doing there. Online tabloids claim to have the answer, asserting that Greg Plitt's death was the result of a failed thrill-seeking stunt. The athletic Plitt, who had previously shot at least one workout video on a train track, was purportedly trying to outrun the passenger train, but tripped and fell on the tracks. Police have...

True Blood “Let’s Boot and Rally” Air Date: 7/8/2012
First it was Sookie and Bill. Then it was Sookie and Eric. This season, it looks increasingly likely that it will be Sookie and Alcide. Last episode ended with Sookie and Alcide drunkenly hooking up, their make out session ramping up during the open this week, leading to the bedroom. As soon as Alcide jinxes it by saying he’s been waiting so long for this, Sookie vomits, and Bill and Eric saunter in, looking very much amused. Maybe it’s Sookie and Bill And Eric And Alcide this year. Thus begins another strong episode of True Blood that finally makes Sookie the most entertaining character in the show again, after Anna Paquin’s fairy heartbreaker’s been stuck on the sidelines a bit too much for it, you know, being her show.
Lafayette returns home in a rage at himself...

True Blood Preview: The Hunted Becomes the Hunter
The hunt for Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare) is over, but the danger is only just beginning on True Blood. This week saw Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) reunite with Sookie (Anna Paquin), but it was all business and no romance as they had a strict deadline to find Russell. The hunt led to a creepy disused asylum and even though Russell has now been found, it still isn't clear as to who was the person who broke him out of his cement grave.
Last week we ended with a very drunk Sookie's hooking up with Alcide (Joe Manganiello) and this was short lived after Sookie threw up on his feet; just in time for Bill and Eric to pop up and say hello. The pair is there for a bit more than pleasantries and without much persuasion they got Sookie...
