During his early career, Danny Chan Kwok Kwan, actor and Jeet Kune Do practitioner portrayed Bruce Lee in the 50-episode TV series “The Legend of Bruce Lee” (2008) due to his resemblance to him. After his portrayal of the Bruce Lee look-alike goalkeeper in Stephen Chow's “Shaolin Soccer” he became more popular which led him to further playing Lee in the “Ip Man” film series. However, in “Desperado” or “Thug in a Suit” as translated from its Chinese title, he finally has the chance to shine as a leading man.
Set in Taicheng, a made up city somewhere in Southeast Asia, most likely Thailand or Cambodia, this online iQIYI film kicks off with a great action set piece in which the thug in a suit, Zhao Ke, comes to a butchery warehouse alone to rescue his sworn brother Barno. The warehouse is actually a front for drug smuggling and a trap to lure him in.

Los Angeles, Sep 11 (Ians) Actress Helen Flanagan appeared to take aim at her ex-fiance Scott Sinclair in a video with their two-year-old son.
The actress, 33, split from her footballer beau almost a year ago but made a jibe at him on social media. Helen and Scott share three children together – eight-year-old Matilda, five-year-old Delilah, and two-year-old Charlie, and are now raising them as co-parents, reports ‘Mirror.co.uk’.
They shockingly broke off their engagement after almost 15 years together in October 2022 and rumours of a rekindling have swirled over the past year.

In the early 1960s, the Kuomintang (Kmt) government’s White Terror in Taiwan, which had begun in 1949, was rife. However, one wouldn’t be aware of such dire political and social turmoil when watching director Pai Ko’s final film, “Romance at Lung Shang Temple” (1962). Completed just before its director’s arrest and imprisonment, the rom-com-musical is a sweet and optimistic affair that deftly alludes to the social tensions of the day.

Some films are based on fact. Some quite clearly aren't. Mr Go tells the story of the first gorilla to play baseball in the Korean baseball league. Unsurprisingly, this one falls into the latter category. Maybe if they'd gone with Japan, but not Korea. That would be insane. Directed by Yong-hwa Kim (200 Pounds Beauty), Mr Go is based on Huh Young-man's 1984 comic, The 7th Team, which depicts the relationship between the all-swinging gorilla and his 15-year-old female manager. Mr Go was the first South Korean film to be shot - for better or for worse - in full 3D, and is a co-production between South Korea and China. A bonkers concept then, but what about the execution? When Weiwei's (Jiao Xu) grandfather died in the Great Sichuan Earthquake, he left behind an insurmountable debt. Things get worse for Weiwei when a loan shark threatens to sell Ling Ling and...

Mr. Go is the latest player to join the roster of the Bears, a down-on-their-luck team in the Korean Baseball League. He's got biceps that rival Mark McGwire's and a swing that rockets every pitch into the stratosphere.
Oh yeah, and he's a giant gorilla.
"Mr. Go" is a Korean comedy that tells the story of the titular ape, a circus performer turned baseball prodigy. Mr. Go grew up as Ling Ling -- he was renamed by savvy Korean Baseball League executives -- whose companion, a young girl named Wei Wei, must strike a deal to have him play in the league in order to pay off her deceased grandfather's debt.
Mr. Go -- rendered in sometimes lifelike, sometimes laughable CGI, depending on the scene -- is a natural, slamming home runs out of the park to the delight of the giant crowds and scantily clad cheerleaders who flock to his games.

Last week brought us our first look at Mr. Go, a Baseball-playing Gorilla headlining Showbox's new Korean comedy, but how does he look in action? Naver has the answer with the first 30-second teaser, featuring this CG character indulging in a variety of primate-related antics, and some initial interaction with baseball and baby girl Wei Wei, who will become his future manager.Based on a popular Korean comic by Heo Yeong-man, the live action film is directed by Kim Yong-hwa (Take Off, 200 Pounds Beauty) with a $20 million budget. The plot for the upcoming Chinese martial arts movie “High Kickers” sounds a little goofy, but, truthfully, I don’t care. I really don’t. That’s because the promotional clip embedded below includes enough impressive fight footage to override my desire for a good story. Will I complain if the picture comes packaged with a digestible narrative? Not at all. However, it isn’t necessary, especially since kung fu veteran Gordon Liu is counted amongst the cast members. Yes, I know I’m pathetic. But first, here’s the synopsis: The Taekwondo club founder Zhao Yu Min was beaten down by the death of his favorite disciple Han Xu Feng who was killed in an illegal gambling boxing match. His club gradually goes into poor operation and loses most of the disciples. One day, a girl called Ling Ling comes to his club and pledges him to train her...

Halloween may be one of my favorite times of the year, but it clearly isn't for Jules. At least, in the beginning it wasn't.
Before we get to the review, let me take a second to point out this weeks new title: Titles Are Hard Cougar Town. Each week, the writers come up with something to trump the previous week, which is pretty awesome. How long do you think this little charade will last?
As far as I'm concerned, hopefully all season long!
Jules's father, Chick, comes to visit the gang for Halloween in "You Don't Know How It Feels."
I loved the way he just automatically fit right in! From the penny can game, to the heavy drinking, scaring Trav, and jamming out with Grayson, it was like he was made to be a part of this weird crew.
Hopefully, this will not be the last we see of Chick.

Drawn Together represents a microcosm of Family Guy’s career from start to its current agonizing continuation. Family Guy started out with smart, fresh and unexpectedly sharp commentary that rocked people expecting just another weekly animated comedy like The Simpsons; Drawn Together’s first season sparked interest in much the same way and seemed to be the continuation of the Family Guy legacy which had come to an unexpected and unfortunate end in 2003. Thus, the 2004 debut of a crudely hilarious show like Drawn Together, which takes pop-culture icons of the last 80 years and forces them to interact in ridiculous 22-minute-long episodes, seemed like the next logical step of animated television.
And it was. The characters worked in a dual-commentary fashion. Not only did they lampoon the original characters which inspired them but they also took on personalities unique to the show’s story and made new comedy from that. Drawn Together...
