- Was nominated for Broadway's Tony Award four times: in 1963, as Best Composer and Lyricist, with collaborator Cy Coleman, and her lyrics as part of a Best Musical nomination for "Little Me;" and in 1968, as Best Composer and Lyricist, with collaborator Elmer Bernstein, and her lyrics as part of a Best Musical nomination for "How Now, Dow Jones."
- Inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1985.
