According to the Romanian succession laws of the Constitution of 1923, should King Michael die without legitimate male issue, the descendants of his second cousin, Prince Friedrich Wilhelm von Hohenzollern (1924-2010), will inherit the rights of succession to the Romanian throne. However, Friedrich Wilhelm's grandfather's renunciation of his right to the throne in favor of Michael's grandfather, King Ferdinand, may deprive Friedrich Wilhelm's lineage of any such right.
