Indian prosecutors attempting to build a case that gangsters are using the Bollywood film industry to launder money and are forcing top stars to appear in their films by the use of threats and intimation were forced Tuesday to declare one of their witnesses hostile after he failed to support their case on the witness stand. Actor Shahrukh Khan denied claims by police that he had told them that he was threatened by producer Nasim Rizvi to act in his film and that he later spoke by phone to Pakistan-based gangster Chhota Shakeel. Today's (Wednesday) Times of India observed that Shahrukh is the eleventh witness to disavow his earlier statements.
