- Since 1992, Joey Kent has worked on dozens of feature films, television shows and music videos as a set designer, builder, decorator and dresser. In 2010, he began writing movie scripts and has collected over 300 festival awards so far including 100+ Best Screenplay finishes and numerous Honorable Mentions, Top Five, and Finalist awards from 60 countries throughout the world. Joey produced the international award winning civil rights documentary "Beyond Galilee," and recently completed "Confluence of Evil", a true crime drama adapted from a national news story on Good Morning America, and "Flood of Lies", a courtroom drama based on the best-selling book of the same name that chronicled what was the lead national story on Hurricane Katrina for many months. Joey's large format coffee table book "Cradle of the Stars" about the historic Louisiana Hayride radio and stage show that gave the world Hank Williams, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and others was released in November, 2019 through Arcadia Publishing and reached #1 in the Radio History category and #5 in the Country Music category on Amazon. - Joey's father, David Kent, was made a member of Orson Welles' famed Mercury Theatre on the Air at age 15 and played 3 parts in the "War of the Worlds" radio scare in 1938. He also co-authored the first play ever produced on television (1946) which became the first TV rerun and the first television property ever optioned by Hollywood.
