Anyone who’s seen episodes of Home Improvement from the 90s Likely recognizes Richard Karn. Richard played the role of Al Borland in the show. Home Improvement was a huge hit when it first premiered, and that’s why it was successfully renewed for eight seasons.
Shows that aren’t worthwhile get canceled after one or two seasons, but that definitely wasn’t the case for Home Improvement. It also pulled in a 7.2 out of 10-star rating on IMDb. Part of the reason the show scored so well is because of its awesome cast, including Richard. Most recently, Richard debuted a much slimmer appearance. These are the details.

It’s easy to take Home Improvement at face value. It’s a simple story about a Michigan family man named Tim Taylor, his wife Jill, his three sons and, of course, his next-door neighbor Wilson, who perpetually hides the lower portion of his face as if it were Austin Powers’ junk.

In retrospect, even though it regularly featured the raw sexual charisma of Richard Karn, Home Improvement was actually pretty dull. Thankfully, one viewer has come along with a wildly outlandish theory that makes the sitcom far more intriguing.
A fan on Reddit proposed an elaborate theory that Home Improvement is really biblical in nature, with Tim “the Tool Man” Taylor acting as a metaphorical “Christ figure.” Which may seem pretty tough to swallow, if not for the fact that Tim Allen does have some experience when it comes to playing bearded deities associated with Christmas.

In what must be this week’s biggest forehead slap, Reuters has squashed an online rumor that CBS has offered Tim Allen and Richard Karn a billion dollars — billion with a B — to create a non-woke sitcom that’s “bound to make waves.”
The story, which was picked up by clickbait peddlers as truth because of course it was, originated on a site that claims to publish satirical news and commentary. Despite promising “laughs at the expense of American culture,” there’s nothing particularly funny about any of the site’s stories — they’re just lies dressed up as “satire.”
The original article reported (satirically!) that, “in a groundbreaking move that promises to redefine sitcom television, CBS has offered Tim Allen and Richard Karn a staggering $1 billion deal to create a non-woke sitcom. This bold investment reflects CBS’s commitment to fostering creative freedom and addressing the evolving landscape of entertainment.

Fans are frequently surprised by the on-air blunders made by contestants on Family Feud. Recently, an answer to a survey question in relation to musical instruments had viewers rushing to social media to weigh in, appalled by what the contestant said. So, what had fans so shocked? Keep reading to find out.
Fans Lose Their Minds Over Contestant’s Answer
Earlier this week, Family Feud shared a clip on YouTube that received some backlash from fans. Steve Harvey asked the contestant to “name a musical instrument people strum.” Typically, you would think of harp, guitar, or bass.
One contestant, Melanie, responded, “A drum.” Surprisingly, host Steve Harvey didn’t seem to be floored by the answer. He is often stunned silent by the answers some of the contestants on Family Feud come up with. Of course, the answer wasn’t up on the board, but it did earn Melanie plenty...

Uuuuahhhhhhhhh?!? Patricia Richardson is perplexed by Tim Allen’s recent claims about a Home Improvement reboot series. Richardson played Jill Taylor, the wife of Tim “The Toolman” Taylor in the 1990s sitcom, whose iron grip on the Taylor household helped keep the family unit from falling into disrepair. Expressing confusion about Allen’s claims that the entire cast is ready to reunite for a reboot series, Richardson confirmed she’s disinterested in reprising her iconic role.

Could a Home Improvement revival be in the works? Well, according to the show’s leading star, Tim Allen, a spinoff is something he’s talked about with his former co-stars on more than one occasion. In an interview with The Messenger to promote the recently released second season of the Disney+ series The Santa Clauses, Allen was asked about the chances of a comeback for the beloved 1990s sitcom. While Smith left acting behind after the show ended, he has found success in a surprising new career. He now works for Elon Musk after creating a vegan cheese.

Corny characters are nothing new to television. In fact, our favorite shows have always featured people with exaggerated behaviors and trite one-liners. Corny characters make us laugh, they make us groan, and they epitomize the best and worst aspects of TV storytelling.
We decided it would be a blast to put on our corny caps, and figure out which sappy figures have the most memorable throughout history. Corny has a large variety of interpretations and definitions. Just because these characters are on this list, it doesn’t mean they’re not well-written or acted. It just means they’ve come to symbolize specific aspects of what makes television often outlandish.

The actor-comedian happily (and hilariously) tests the limits of tools in the new series More Power — the title was, of course, his catchphrase on Tool Time, the handyman show-within-a-show on his 1991–99 sitcom Home Improvement. He’s joined by buddy Richard Karn, who played his cohost, and DIY pro April Wilkerson. (The trio previously hosted the History competition Assembly Required.) They present an iconic tool, its origins — and some very creative applications. Allen plugs us in. In the June 29 premiere, which covered pneumatics and hydraulics, you and April had a basketball-dunking contest in dueling bulldozers. What trouble do you get up in the July 6 episode? There’s so much brilliance contained within Hulu’s “Pen15” that it’s difficult to know where to start when attempting to dissect what makes the unconventional comedy series work. Here’s some food for thought: History Channel has one of the oddest, most interesting docuseries around right now, and you’re going to want to add it to your TV-watching menu this weekend.
The show: The Food That Built America. The premise: a spotlight on the “unbelievable true stories behind the brands you love,” per its official logline, foods as specific as Oreos and Cheetos and as generic as the hot dog. The experience: A fun, educational and slightly ridiculous hour of TV that looks like Drunk History and sounds like [insert horrifying true-crime documentary here].

Less than two months after he reprised his role as Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor on Last Man Standing, Tim Allen is revisiting his Home Improvement roots yet again, by way of History Channel’s Assembly Required.
Allen and former Tool Time sidekick Richard Karn (aka Al Borland) serve as hosts of the reality competition. Each episode pits three of the best and brightest makers from across the country against each other as they complete a series of mind-blowing builds. Tim Allen and Richard Karn are reuniting again 30 years after their “Home Improvement” days for the History Channel’s forthcoming unscripted competition series “Assembly Required,” but don’t expect sitcom shenanigans while watching. Instead, the duo will lean into their real-life friendship and tried-and-true on-screen chemistry for a “kind of a live version of ‘Tool Time,'” Allen explained, while spotlighting the best and brightest makers from across the country with a can-do attitude and a competitive streak.
During the network’s Television Critics Association winter press tour panel Thursday, star Allen and host Karn gave the rundown on the new hourly 10-episode reality show, joined by the series’ own resident expert April Wilkerson (known best for her DIY woodworking and metalworking videos on YouTube), and Brent Montgomery, executive producer.
“Assembly Required” pits three builders head-to-head as they hammer, chop, arrange and assemble mind-blowing creations out of everyday household items in desperate need of fixing.

What time is it? Well, it’s almost time for “Home Improvement” stars Tim Allen and Richard Karn to reunite for new History channel competition “Assembly Required,” a project that’s a perfect fit for two guys who hosted the fictional handyman show “Tool Time” for eight years.
But Allen says he “never even thought about” having Karn host this series, which he called “kind of a live version of ‘Tool Time.'”
“My only hesitation was I didn’t want to embarrass myself,” Allen told reporters during a virtual panel for “Assembly Required” at the Television Critics Association winter press tour Thursday, ahead of the show’s Tuesday, Feb. 23 premiere at 10/9c on the History channel.
“We’re very similar to the characters we play in that show,” Allen said.

The network has issued a 10-episode order for an unscripted series called “Assembly Required” (working title) which will star Tim Allen and be hosted by Richard Karn.
“Assembly Required” is described as a competition series which is sounding the call for those with a can-do attitude to take back their sense of purpose and awaken their inner builder.
Its aim is to spotlight the best and brightest builders from across the country, at their home workshops, as they compete to breathe new life into everyday household items in desperate need of fixing. In each episode, Allen and Karn will also dive into the unique history around these items to celebrate the men and women who crafted them.
The show is slated to launch on History sometime in 2021.
“Let’s face it, we’re living in a throwaway society,” said Allen in a statement.

Actress and former model Candice Bergen strode proudly onto the stage of NYC's Carnegie Hall, flanked by her Murphy Brown co-stars, at CBS' recent fall lineup announcement. "It's so great to have the gang back together," she said. "And to hear Americans cheering for a bunch of journalists." It's the kind of timely wisecrack Murphy often made on the hit 1988 to 1998 sitcom and will continue to make on the show's upcoming reboot. And like her character, Candice always tells it like it is. While recently addressing her youthful good looks, she told People that, "People who don't have it think beauty is a blessing, but actually it sets you apart." And when it comes to her later-in-life weight gain, she wrote in her memoir, A Fine Romance, "I am fat. I live to eat." Murphy Brown...together again. Coming to your neighborhood TV in the fall. New York City-based actress Lucy Liu has decided to part with her long-time, celeb-pedigreed residence on the West Coast, listing her “modern craftsman” style home in the celeb-saturated Fryman Canyon area of Studio City, Calif., at $4.199 million. Tucked securely behind gates at the end of a private driveway shared with a couple of other multi-million dollar homes, the unassuming residence, which Liu picked up in 2001 for an unrecorded amount from Oscar and Golden Globe winning actress Patricia Arquette, was built in the late 1950s and measures in at 4,098-square-feet over two floors with four bedrooms and five bathrooms, all of them featuring vintage copper and nickel ceiling tiles and slathered in handmade ceramic floor and wall tiles.
