Black Panther director and cowriter Ryan Coogler has written a tribute to commemorate the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman, and what the young actor meant to him and so many others. In it, he provides a glimpse of how Boseman projected an ethereal nature onscreen as he played icons from James Brown to Jackie Robinson, Supreme Court judge Thurgood Marshall and the Wakandan king T’Challa. The essay perfectly reflects Boseman but also its author, who has shown in Fruitvale Station, Creed and Black Panther that he is all about heart, family, and grace. Here it is in its entirety.
