Years ago I saw Ollie Johnston, Frank Thomas and the remaining "old men" at the AFI at the Kennedy Center with Shamus(?) Culhane. The occasion was a special showing of SNOW WHITE with the group talking about the film and taking questions.

There was also a special sneak preview of THE RESCUERS, but I don't remember who introduced and discussed the film.

Chuck Jones made two special appearances to discuss his work and show some of his cartoons. His big announcement was three new cartoons, featuing Bugs and Elmer when they were kids, the Return of Duck Dodgers and the ulitmate Road Runner cartoon where the Coyote finally captures the bird!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As it turned out, he produced one more but why quibble.

After the AFI moved to Silver Spring, MD the special programs seemed to become rarer although Clint Eastwood, Patricia Hitchcok and Jeanne Moreau made special appearances.

Those were the good old days.
