- There's a character named Joe Bruce in the film DJ Stan Da Man (2015) the writer/director Mathew Fisher put it in there as a tribute to VJ because of decades of being a Juggalo and the influence he says Violent J, ICP and Psychopathic Records has had on him and his work.
- In 1998, Eminem approached him with a flier to promote his "Slim Shady LP" release party, which read that ICP might make an appearance there. ICP had never met, or heard of Eminem at the time. He declined the "invitation", and Eminem took this as a personal insult and thus the battle between Eminem and ICP began.
