The scandal surrounding John Edwards — the two-time presidential candidate who stood trial on charges that he misused campaign funds to hide his pregnant mistress — was one of the biggest American political dramas in decades. But for then-101-year-old heiress Rachel (“Bunny”) Lambert Mellon, who provided the bulk of the funds in question but was unaware of how Edwards was using the money, it was a grand old time.
“He would have been a great president,” Mellon told author Meryl Gordon before her death in 2014, according to Bunny Mellon: The Life of an American Style Legend, which hits bookstores Tuesday and...

At age 7, Rielle Hunter and John Edwards' daughter is "very loved" - and completely aware of her parents' history, mom Reille says. During her appearance on the Steve Harvey Show earlier this week, Hunter, 51, told Harvey that her daughter Frances Quinn is "amazing." "She sings all the time, she's just always got a happy little tune going on," Hunter shared. Edwards fathered Frances Quinn during a presidential run in 2007 while he was still married to the late Elizabeth Edwards. Hunter, who was a filmmaker hired to work on his campaign, gave birth in February 2008, but Edwards didn't admit paternity until January 2010. His wife,...

Exclusive: Aaron Sorkin is reconfirming his dedication to chronicling the rise and scandalous fall of a presidential candidate. The Newsroom and West Wing creator, one of Hollywood’s most outspoken voices in the recent Sony hacking attack, has extended his option on Nyt bestseller The Politician, Andrew Young’s explosive 2010 tell-all about the adultery scandal that ended former North Carolina Senator John Edwards’ 2008 Democratic Presidential campaign.
Young exposed shocking details of the married Edwards’ secret affair with campaign staffer Rielle Hunter that yielded an illegitimate child. The Politician revealed how Young, a volunteer in Edwards’ 1998 Senate run who became his trusted right hand man, was asked to help cover up Edwards’ adultery, fake paternity test results, and claim the child as his own for the Presidential hopeful.
The lid was blown when a tabloid newspaper uncovered the affair, which blindsided Edwards’ cancer-stricken wife Elizabeth and led to the implosion of Edwards’ presidential run.

Disgraced former U.S. Senator John Edwards won a $13 million settlement on Thursday for a 4-year-old boy who suffered brain damage, in his first trial since returning to the practice of law last year. "I was happy to be back in the courtroom," a beaming Edwards told Wnct as he left the courthouse in Greenville, North Carolina. "We fought like crazy for this kid. That's what this case was all about," Edwards said of Kaiden Gaymon, whose family claimed the boy was physically injured and suffered brain damage while being treated at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in 2009 for a respiratory virus.

So my fellow ComicMix columnist Marc Alan Fishman doesn’t have a problem with the idea of Wonder Woman being a descendant of Kryptonian colonists in the next installment of the Superman cinematic universe. Yes, I know that this may be just one of those wild Internet rumors, but I gotta tell ya, ever since The National Enquirer broke the story of Al Gore, Rielle Hunter and their love child, I don’t easily dismiss stories that are far off the media mainstream path. And besides, Warner Bros. has, to quote another ComicMix correspondent (Vinnie Bartilucci) “gone on record how ‘complicated’ a story Wonder Woman has.”
Complicated?
Wonder Woman’s origin is based on the myths of the Hellenic culture, the same culture that gave The Iliad and The Odyssey, the two Homeric mythic sagas that are considered epics of the imagination and central to modern Western literature. Not to...

Disgraced former senator and two-time presidential candidate John Edwards isn’t exactly a hero in the public eye, but we’re happy to hear that he’s moved on from his former mistress Rielle Hunter. John has been spotted with a 35-year-old single mom named Danielle King, and apparently he’s already quite smitten!
The world was disgusted when Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards cheated on his doting, cancer-stricken wife Elizabeth prior to the 2008 election, then subsequently less shocked when that move ruined his political career. Now, five years after the birth of his child with Rielle Hunter – and three after Elizabeth’s tragic death — John, 60, has moved on with a more suitable candidate.

Former senator and presidential candidate John Edwards is looking to get back to work now that the events of the past few years have died down, a source tells CNN.
The source says Edwards is wanting to open a new law firm in Raleigh, North Carolina in September. The firm will reportedly focus on plaintiff work, which is what Edwards did before he got into politics.
Edwards was famously outed for having (and later admitted to) an extramarital affair with campaign staffer Rielle Hunter, resulting in baby Quinn, all while being married to wife Elizabeth, who died in 2010 of cancer.
The politician later was investigated for allegedly using campaign funds to keep his pregnant mistress a secret during his second presidential bid. But Edwards was acquitted in 2012 of several counts and a mistrial was declared on the rest.

Abe Jones, a Superior Court judge in Wake County, N.C. who presided over a high-profile case involving former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards' mistress and an infamous sex-tape, was voted off the bench earlier this month after 17 years of service.
In an exit interview with the Raleigh News and Observer, Jones revealed one of the more uncomfortable moments of the memorable lawsuit filed by Rielle Hunter, the woman who was uncovered as the mother of Edwards' child after a lengthy coverup.
When Andrew Young, the former Edwards aide being sued by Hunter, eventually turned over the video purporting to show Hunter and Edwards in the act, it quickly became the centerpiece of the case.
But Jones told the News and Observer that he refused to watch it.
“I just didn’t want to do it,” Jones said. “I sometimes see [Edwards] socially. I would feel like I was in his bedroom.

Stick an average broad in a hotel bar and she turns into Rielle Hunter. A friend of mine who works in the hotel industry keeps me abreast of all the latest trends in anti-social and revolting guest behavior. According to my “hospitality insider,” nefarious guest activities are only becoming more foul and disturbing. Though he enjoys his work, he has started to feel somewhat constrained, specifically in regard to fabric choices. Whether for upholstery, drapes, or bedding, every textile he selects must now be Bcp-resistant, by which he means resistant to—drumroll—blood, cum, and poo.

In what will go down as one of the most uncomfortable interviews in the history of Piers Morgan Tonight, Rielle Hunter sat down for half an hour to answer brutally candid questions about her affair with John Edwards. Piers Morgan didn't spare any salacious detail in the book, asking Hunter whether it was the best sex of her life, whether she regretted speaking negatively of Elizabeth Edwards, and playing her a clip of John Edwards denying her daughter was his on television.

By allowing the mistress that destroyed his marriage to your mom and who tore your family apart , to write a book, What Really Happened, that assassinated your mom's character. That's why I'm proud of you for allegedly putting your foot down with your father, according to the new issue of the National Enquirer. "It's either her or me!

Rielle Hunter's new book is out and she appeared on The View to promote it answer for it. Joan Rivers is thrilled that her new book, "I Hate Everyone…Starting With Me," has made it onto The New York Times best-seller list, but thinks other famous people who are releasing books should just shut up.
"I think it's just stupid, all these people writing books. I really don’t care what traumas have happened to Justin Bieber or Bethenny [Frankel],” laughs Joan. "Bethenny is the luckiest white woman on the face of the earth. Selling a drink with Sweet'n Low in it and making a fortune -- that’s called luck."
Rivers has equally little desire to read a new tell-all book by John Edwards' former mistress, Rielle Hunter. "I have no interest in her book,” Joan tells me. "You know [John] has to be boring in bed because his hair never moves."
Joan says she would love to do a tell-all book herself, but admits she has very little to tell.

Can you go any lower than assassinating the character of your lover's wife who died after a heroic battle with breast cancer? That's exactly what John Edwards' girlfriend Rielle Hunter has done in her new book, 'What Really Happened.' And John Edwards is complicit. Rielle Hunter didn't just humiliate Elizabeth Edwards by indulging in a torrid affair with John Edwards and getting pregnant with their love child. No, she set out to assassinate the character of Edwards who can't answer back to Hunter's charges that Elizabeth was "venomous" and a "witch on wheels." She claims in her new book that Elizabeth was controlling and abusive to John, that he wasn't having a sexual relationship with her any longer and that she drove him into the arms of other women, like... oh yes, Hunter. Well, isn't this convenient for Hunter and John, who clearly are still romantically involved with each other.

John Edwards' mistress Rielle Hunter, the woman embroiled in the affair that led to his trial about misusing campaign funds to cover up the affair and subsequent daughter born from said affair, has written a memoir titled "What Really Happened: John Edwards, Our Daughter and Me."
ABC News obtained the memoir ahead of its release date in preparation for a "20/20" interview with Hunter airing Friday, June 22 - reportedly the interview will show Hunter discussing the current status of her relationship with Edwards, which she is vague about in the book.
She writes, "I really have no idea what will happen with us. The jury is still out. But I can honestly say that the ending is of no concern to me anymore. The love is here. And as sappy as it may sound, I love living in love."

In an upcoming "tell-all" book, Rielle Hunter calls the late Elizabeth Edwards a "witch on wheels" who drove former Senator John Edwards into the arms of other women, including Hunter's.
The book, "What Really Happened," is Hunter's account of her scandal-fraught affair with the one-time presidential and vice presidential hopeful. In it, Hunter characterizes Elizabeth Edwards as a "crazy" woman who yelled at her husband and even physically attacked him. She also says Elizabeth fired Edwards staffers and was wild with jealousy about her husband's "numerous" affairs.
Still, she says the cancer-stricken Elizabeth (who died in 2010) managed to keep up the public persona of a "saint."
She also alleges that Elizabeth "stalked" her after finding out about Hunter's affair with Edwards, calling and hanging up "at all hours of the day and night from various numbers."
Hunter details alleged affairs Edwards had with other women over two decades, though she says she was the last.

Rielle has written a shocking new tell-all memoir in which she makes some pretty cruel accusations about Elizabeth Edwards. She also claims John had multiple mistresses! Can you believe it? As if Rielle Hunter hadn't already caused Elizabeth Edwards enough strife before her passing, she's set to cause even more. The former mistress of disgraced senator John Edwards has written a book entitled What Really Happened and she's not demonstrating any ounce of tact or restraint when it comes to Elizabeth. According to ABC News, Rielle depicts Elizabeth as a woman who was constantly angry with her husband, always "barking" orders at him. Rielle alleges that she was "crazy" and a "venomous" "witch on wheels," given to fits of "rage." Rielle shows very little sympathy for Elizabeth's alleged behavior, claiming she "was bonkers because she had been in denial" about his cheating. And she doesn't just mean her affair with John.

Hunter's new memoir What Really Happened: John Edwards, Our Daughter and Me is excerpted exclusively in the upcoming issue of People magazine that will be available on newsstands this Friday.
