Even though Rockstar Games had to release the first trailer for GTA 6 earlier than planned due to an incredibly unfortunate leak, it is finally here. With it comes more confirmed details about the upcoming game than we’ve received in the last 10+ years. However, few of those details are more important than the reveal that GTA 6 is set in the fictional state of Leonida: the GTA universe stand-in for the state of Florida.
That means that GTA 6 will feature an updated version of Vice City as so many rumors about the game have previously suggested. However, the distinction between Vice City and Leonida is already proving to be significant. Not only will GTA 6‘s in-game world be so much bigger than one city, but the game’s entire spirit and style seem to be derived from the Florida-like nature of Leonida rather than the Miami-like culture of Vice City. Based on what I’ve seen,...

CAA vet Wendy Smith has joined Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser’s Absurd Ventures as chief operating officer of the media and entertainment company.
Absurd Ventures was launched in June by Houser, who spent more than 20 years as lead writer and creative director for Rockstar’s games and game series, which sold more than 500 million units, including Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption.
Smith will oversee business operations, finance, communications, legal, Hr, external partnerships and philanthropy for the new company, which has a focus on creating characters and worlds that can be expressed in many different forms, including video games, TV, film and a wide range of multiplatform content.
“Introducing new IP into the world is hard — games take a long time to produce and are very expensive,” Smith told Variety. “We mitigate that risk through smaller outputs on projects – whether it’s graphic novels, podcasts or television. Our...

Dan Houser, the co-founder of Rockstar Games and writer behind the Grand Theft Auto franchise, launched a new media venture Thursday that will create IP across formats.
Absurd Ventures is based in Santa Monica and will give Houser an opportunity to expand his focus outside of video games to include programming for live-action and animated shows, books and podcasts, the company said Thursday.
“We are building Absurd Ventures to create new universes and to tell great stories, wherever and however we can,” Houser said in a statement.
The gaming executive co-founded Rockstar Games with his brother Sam in 1998 and went on to help create some of the most popular video game franchises, including Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption. In 2019, Houser took an “extended break” from the studio, which he served as vp creative, and formally left the company in 2020, according to a February 2020 securities filing from parent company Take-Two Interactive.

In 2011, the Tribeca Film Festival’s unprecedented decision to include a video game as part of the official selection may have seemed like nothing more than a glorified bit of cross-promotion between a for-profit festival and an elite publisher with a very expensive new blockbuster to sell. A detective mystery in the tradition of classic movies like “The Maltese Falcon” and “The Big Sleep,” Rockstar Games’ “L.A. Noire” certainly seemed like a natural way of bridging the gap between two different mediums that have been on a collision course for a long time — according to Rockstar’s Dan Houser, Tribeca felt that it “was something new and different that would appeal to fans of cinematic storytelling” — but the choice also reflected the patronizing idea that video games should aspire to be interactive films.
In the years that followed, however, it gradually became clear that Tribeca had a more expansive...

According to recent reports, Grand Theft Auto 6 is absolutely in active development, though in what stage remains a topic ripe for debate.
In confirming the project’s existence in a recent Kotaku article, trusted games journalist Jason Schreier noted that Rockstar’s sequel was still in its infancy and was therefore still some time away from being released. Fans hoping for an official reveal sooner rather than later have been left reeling by the news ever since, of course, though others claiming to have inside knowledge of the upcoming title have since called their accuracy into question.
Addressing questions pertaining to both Schreier’s original report and those provided earlier this week, Rockstar Mag’s Liberty93 has reignited hopes of the series’ sixth installment arriving earlier than projected.

GTA 6 is finally in development at Rockstar Games, which means that fans of the series can look forward to another crime-filled romp across a massive map full of banks to rob and cars to steal. While the game is allegedly in the early stages of production, and likely a few years away from release, there have been several rumors over the past few years that suggest that Rockstar has already laid out a few key things about the highly-anticipated sequel.
There have been several rumors that suggest that Rockstar already knows where the next game is going to take place — some obvious choices, including the franchise’s trifecta of cities, as well as some surprising locations that could take the series in a new direction.
While none of these locations are confirmed as of yet, we’ve compiled a list of what we’ve heard so far:

Rockstar has started work on a new Grand Theft Auto game, according to a report from Kotaku on the studio’s improved workplace culture. The outlet reports that the game is in early development. It’s unclear at this time whether the new project is the long-awaited GTA 6 or a spin-off in the spirit of Vice City and San Andreas.
Sources have also told Kotaku that the next GTA game will “start out with a moderately sized release that is then expanded with regular updates over time, which may help mitigate stress and crunch.” This could mean that the next game could embrace more of a “games as a service” approach, with a base experience that is then fleshed out with multiple Dlc and smaller updates.
Besides allowing developers to have a better work-life balance, a GaaS release model for GTA 6 makes sense when you consider the massive success Rockstar has had with GTA Online,...

In a bit of a surprising move, Dan Houser is leaving Rockstar Games next month
Here's a bit of news that we weren't expecting: Dan Houser, one of the longest-serving members of staff at Rockstar, will be leaving the company next month.
Rockstar's parent company, Take-Two Interactive, broke the news in an official document with this statement: "After an extended break beginning in the spring of 2019, Dan Houser, Vice President, Creative at Rockstar Games, will be leaving the company. Dan Houser’s last day will be March 11, 2020." It's interesting to hear that Houser has been on a break for quite some time and will not be carrying on with Rockstar.
"We are extremely grateful for his contributions," the statement adds. And, indeed, Houser's contributions to Rockstar Games have been very significant: he was the co-founder of the company, and he served as a writer on such massive...

While actor Gabriel Sloyer has an impressive filmography, with roles in hit Netflix Original Series “Narcos” and “Orange is the New Black,” and more, perhaps his most demanding role to date is that of Javier Escuella of the Van der Linde Gang in the wildly successful “Red Dead Redemption II,” released in October.
With performances in film, TV, musical theatre, and even audiobooks, Sloyer is clearly in-demand. But, as he shared in a recent interview with Variety, he and his girlfriend both take the time to play “Red Dead Redemption II.”
Sloyer joked about the surreal experience of hearing his own agitated voice coming from another room in his home, only to find that his partner was having much more fun pestering Javier then working to complete the in-game objective.
Sloyer talks about that anecdote in good humor, but it relates to another point the actor makes about Rockstar and...

It sounds like most Rockstar employees weren't working 100 hour weeks to finish Red Dead Redemption 2.
Recently, Rockstar's Dan Houser caused quite a bit of controversy when he suggested that members of the Red Dead Redemption 2 development team were working 100 hour weeks to finish the game. While he later stated that he was only talking about certain senior staff members, some doubted that was the case. Now, though, other members of the Rockstar team have taken to social media to "mostly" echo those claims.
"In over 5 years, never have I been asked or pressured to work anywhere near 100 hours," says Rockstar North engine programmer, Timea Tabori. "I have occasionally worked maybe 50 hours a week at most and nobody demanded or even expected that."
Many of the other quotes from Rockstar employees state something similar. Rockstar San Diego tools programmer, Vivianne Langdon says that she has never worked for...

Fans are concerned over Red Dead Redemption 2's crunch time figures.
In an interview with New York Magazine, Rockstar's Dan Houser stated that he and some members of the team were working some very long weeks in order to finish Red Dead Redemption 2.
“We were working 100-hour weeks," says Houser. He then elaborated on the incredible amount of work that goes into a game like this by stating that they even made "70 versions" the game's trailers and television commercials with the team's editors probably working on "several hundred" versions of those spots.
These comments caused some people to become quite concerned regarding what Rockstar expects of their employees. After all, we've heard quite a few stories in recent years about studios that will force their employees to endure hundreds of hours of crunch time in order to complete a project. More often than not, these hours...

It turns out there's a good reason why Rockstar stopped hiring so many celebrities to voice Grand Theft Auto games.
Have you ever wondered why modern Rockstar games feature significantly fewer big name celebrity voice actors? Well, it turns out that Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser and others within the company simply got tired of dealing with their egos.
In an interview with Vulture, Houser recalled a time that he and Burt Reynolds argued about the direction of a Grand Theft Auto: Vice City scene. The argument apparently became quite heated and resulted in Reynolds yelling “Get the limey out of here.”
“I don’t want to speak ill of the dead, poor bugger,” says Houser, “but we don’t bring in name actors anymore because of their egos and, most important of all, because we believe we get a better sense of immersion using talented actors whose voices you don’t recognize.

No sooner had GTA V whizzed onto shop shelves in 2013 than gamers started looking forward to what VI may have in store. It seems like no video game forum is complete without at least one topic dedicated to what Rockstar’s next installment of the infamous series may have in store. People crave news about a new Grand Theft Auto, it’s as simple as that.
There’s a reason for this constant chatter; GTA is an exciting property and always has been. It’s the kind of game that’s ripe for rumours too, something Rockstar themselves have likely only encouraged. Interviews with game producers like Dan Houser have only added fuel to the fire, teasing fans with what they can expect with each passing release. How do you make an interesting film about coding a videogame? It sounds like a difficult subject to dramatise on the face of it. But ultimately, all great stories are more about the relationships between characters than what they do for a living. A movie that contained nothing but boxing matches for 100 continuous minutes would leave audiences reeling. Game Changer, the 90-minute Grand Theft Auto docu-drama in the works at BBC, is set to chart the heated court battle between anti-game lawyer Jack Thompson (Bill Paxton) and Sam Houser – brother to Dan Houser – one of the masterminds behind Rockstar’s genre-defining blockbuster.
Primarily centering around the two leads, Polygon has unearthed the first stills from the set in Cape Town, which showcase Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe sporting a beard as the former brother. For the documentary, the 25-year-old actor will take a stand against Bill Paxton’s peeved lawyer, who believes the entire Grand Theft Auto franchise should be disbanded due to its excessive – and, arguably, gratuitous – violence.
But it is a real-life murder that will act as the crux of Game Changer. In 2005, Devin Moore was shot and killed by three police officers, and soon thereafter Thompson attributed part of the blame...

A new Bully-related application with the European Union trademark and designs office has kicked off a fresh round of speculation on the possibility that we might finally get a sequel to Rockstar’s classic 2005 open-world game.
The new Ohim trademark application — which was filed by Take-Two Interactive on November 20, 2013 — covers the name Bully Bullworth Academy: Canis Canem Edit for use in “video game programs” and just over two dozen other entertainment and marketing products. An interesting feature of the application is that it also includes a “graphic representation” of the mark, which appears to be the school crest from Bully.
Further linking the Bully Bullworth Academy: Canis Canem Edit trademark to the original game is the name itself. Bullworth Academy is of course the name of the boarding school that Jimmy is dropped off at, and Canis Canem Edit (which is Latin for “dog eat dog”) is the original...

Grand Theft Auto V is what it looks like when a suicidal architect builds a skyscraper. The game is beautiful and it is empty. I don’t mean that as an insult. The game might actually be about emptiness; it regards the human condition with less sentimentality than Werner Herzog. I can’t help but recommend Grand Theft Auto V, because I’ve played it for at least fifty hours. It is probably the best-made Grand Theft Auto game ever, and it is also the most soulless, which probably explains why it is so much fun. If this sounds paradoxical,...

Chicago – Despite being a massive game, the best parts of “Grand Theft Auto V” are the little details: The way whiskey sloshes around in a glass, how characters show up to cut scenes in their custom saved cars, how surfboards litter the beaches, the numerous dynamic touches like the radio updating you on a given happening you had a hand in, as well as little narrative details that hint at “GTA V” being about something a little bigger than it lets on.

“Grand Theft Auto V” absolutely delivers on the grand scale, too — setting the bar way high for open-world games. Throughout the 30+ hour campaign, you’ll find yourself organizing scores, hiring gunmen and hackers, and executing a series of heists with much-improved shooting mechanics. When not heisting or shooting you’ll take on missions that affect the virtual stock market, challenge you to legalize marijuana in Los Santos,...

While speaking with Polygon about Grand Theft Auto V earlier this month, Rockstar Games’ Dan Houser mentioned that he his interested in developing a sequel to the PlayStation 2 cult-classic, Bully.
“I know I want to [make a Bully sequel]. Well, hopefully, you never know. There’s a lot of directions I could go with that one, it’s funny.”
This is far from the first time that we have heard talk of a potential Bully sequel (the most recent example being a brand new Us trademark application for the IP this past July), so we can’t blame you if Houser’s comments have kicked off a bit of wishful speculation in your mind. Especially, since they have also got our own speculative juices flowing.
The Rockstar co-founder also commented on suggestions that they should make an adult Jimmy Hopkins – Bully‘s teen protagonist — the main character in a future Grand Theft Auto. According to Houser,...

Dan Houser would like to swap cars and assault rifles for bikes and catapults and return to the controversial Bully...
Talking to Polygon, Rockstar's Dan Houser has discussed his love for one of the company’s most controversial titles, 2006's Bully.
The game, which saw players take on the role of Jimmy Hopkins, an adolescent sent to a private school, came under heavy fire for it's depiction of school violence and shady subject matter. As is usually the case, however, the criticism was unjustified, and the game many feared was nothing more than a school violence simulator, was far from it, as Jimmy often found himself defending those who couldn't defend themselves.
This was no morally bankrupt GTA, it was a far more layered affair, with a central character that was genuinely likeable, if not the hero-type most games usually go for.

In case you haven’t heard or have found yourself living under a particularly large rock, a new Grand Theft Auto game is out. The game has gone down a storm with critics and gamers alike and it is without a doubt Rockstar Games’ most ambitious title to date. With the release of a new GTA game, discussion inevitably turns to Hollywood (or should that be Vinewood?) and the possibility of a movie set in the GTA universe.
Whilst Rockstar’s own Dan Houser has in the past confirmed that they have had several offers to make a movie one has yet to be made.
GTA V has arguably one of the best selections of characters in a Grand Theft Auto game to date, with Michael, Trevor and Franklin all having unique characteristics and personalities, but who would play these bunch of miscreants in a film version?

Waiting for GTA V to arrive on next gen? You might be waiting in vein according to Rockstar's Dan Houser...
You could say GTA V is doing pretty well for itself at the moment. At the last count it's sold over $1 billion in three days, and sales are sure to continue into the holiday season. Lets also not forget the possibility of new Dlc or expansions down the line. Rockstar can milk their latest epic for a long time to come.
However, with both the Xbox One and PS4 due in a couple of months, you'd be right to wonder if Rockstar is going to re-release the latest GTA for next gen, either on its own or using an EA/Ubisoft -style upgrade plan. That answer, at the moment, is no by the looks of it.

Grand Theft Auto V is the biggest and messiest game I’ve played in years. It’s a quieter Grand Theft Auto but also a louder Grand Theft Auto, a more mature Grand Theft Auto and a shockingly adolescent Grand Theft Auto. It’s set in a big huge FauxCal where Los Angeles is a 10-minute drive from Lake Tahoe and the policemen actually notice when you break traffic laws. If you can imagine an automobile, you can probably steal it in Grand Theft Auto V. At the turning point of videogame generations, with a whole rush of big-huge open-world...

(Cbr) Are you excited for the inevitable "Grand Theft Auto" film? Don’t be. Based on new comments from Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser, that movie isn’t going to happen. “We’ve been offered, many times, and it’s never appealed,” Houser told The Guardian. “The money’s never been close to be worth risking one’s crown jewels. Our small dabbling with Hollywood have always left us running back to games. The freedom we have to do what we want creatively is of enormous value. The last Grand Theft Auto video game, GTA IV was released in 2008 and grossed over $500 million Usd…in its first week of release! Video game movies very well could be the next comic book movies so it's unsurprising that a few Hollywood studios have approached Rockstar about a Grand Theft Auto movie. However, Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser states they're not really interested, “We’ve been offered, many times, and it’s never appealed. The money’s never been close to be worth risking one’s crown jewels. Our small dabblings with Hollywood have always left us running back to games.” Houser's concerns are understandable as the current track record for video game adaptations is anything but stellar. However, considering the number of video game adaptations in the works including Assassin's Creed, World of Warcraft, Splinter Cell and more, someone will eventually crack the code. Yet Houser seems very leery...

Rockstar Games is about to shake up game consoles everywhere next week with the release of the most expensive game ever made "Grand Theft Auto V". The $265 million-budget gaming title is expected to be one of the biggest selling pieces of entertainment (in any form) of the year.
Now, one of Rockstar's co-founders Dan Houser has discussed the always in the background talk of a "Grand Theft Auto" film spin-off with The Guardian. In the process, he essentially says it will never happen:

Earlier this month Take-Two Interactive filed an application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a brand new trademark for Rockstar Games’ PlayStation 2 classic, Bully. While nothing has been confirmed, the new trademark has provided a glimmer of hope that fans will finally get a sequel to the 2006 open world title.
As discovered by GameSpot, the new Bully trademark was filed on July 25, 2013, and covers everything from “video game programs and software,” to “multimedia files, live action programs”, and (interestingly enough) “providing information, news and commentary in the field of computer games and video games.”
I suppose that last bit could be interpreted to mean that the entire video game press has now officially violated Take-Two’s new Bully trademark.
At any rate, this new filing represents the fourth Bully trademark since the original game’s launch — the other three are for the software itself, clothing, and printed materials.

Officially, Grand Theft Auto V is being developed as a current-gen exclusive for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Unofficially, two new German online retail listings are claiming that Rockstar Games is also planning to release a PC port of the next entry in their flagship IP at some point in the future.
As spotted by NeoGAF, both Amazon.de and the German retailer GamesOnly have updated their websites to include a listing for an unannounced PC version of Grand Theft Auto V. Sadly, neither listing currently provides any new details about the game, and both fail to reveal when PC games might expect to get their hands on the potential port. The only new information that we have — aside from the fact that there might be a PC port — comes from a GTA V Special Edition listing on GamesOnly that has since been taken down. So now we've got a closer look at the three leads in September's "GTA V," courtesy of three new trailers showing each character's motivations (or in tweaked-out Trevor's case, chaotic response) to Rockstar's latest crime saga.
Looking at Michael, Franklin, and Trevor's trailers, I had a couple of thoughts about the direction of "Grand Theft Auto V" (which I should hasten to add I have no played a single minute of) and the legacy of the franchise in general.
Look at those faces
The protracted development of "L.A. Noire" yielded one major positive for publisher Rockstar: some excellent facial capture and animation technology. The mouth movements, physical animations, and character detail are all endlessly watchable.
The eyes remain a problem, either moving too quickly or too slowly in their orbits or just over-lit (or under-lit, I can never be sure) in the way that most high-quality animation can't get peepers right.

Sam and Dan Houser left England for New York City. With them they brought the slightly popular Grand Theft Auto IP, took jobs under a then struggling publisher, Take-Two Interactive, and the rest is history. 16 years later with an upwards of 30 games under their belt, Rockstar Games have cemented themselves as one of the best developers around.
Doing something no other developer had ever truly done, Rockstar Games gave players an entire city to explore with hardly any boarders. Players could steal cars, steal planes, use tanks, harm pedestrians, earn money from playing story missions, have epic battles with cops on the highest wanted level, and when players got bored, obey traffic laws, (admit it, we’ve all done it at some point.) There seemed to be endless possibilities, and rather than just repackaging the same old stuff, Rockstar Games manages to expand and improve almost every aspect of their games with every new release.

Given that the upcoming Grand Theft Auto V will mark the fifteenth entry in the long-running and massively popular crime franchise, it’s not too surprising to learn that RockStar are looking in all kinds of places for inspiration when it comes to the next installment.
And if what we’ve seen of GTA V so far shows an franchise that has been honed into what arguably appears to be its ”perfect form,” where else is there for the studio to take the franchise? According to recent reports, the future is certainly a possibility.

Oxm has picked up a quote from late last year that has Rockstar head honcho, Dan Houser, stating that the studio may explore the possibility of a sci-fi Grand Theft Auto title somewhere down the road. From what it sounds like, the studio is interested, but won’t go into science fiction just for the sake of it. They need a good reason first.

After a few hours taking advantage of this, I began to ponder about Grand Theft Auto V and what we’ll all be doing in the next world it gives us. We know that the game will take place in Los Santos and the surrounding countryside, and is said to be bigger than Rdr, GTA IV and San Andreas combined.
Now this is huge but this is including interiors too, meaning the square footage of every room, tunnel, bridge, and the subway is included in that, as well as the sea bed. That said, this still promises to be a masive sandbox...

Clothing and accessories play a vital role in the personality of a character. It plays a great part in determining a character’s personality and also what background they’re from – whether they’re upper class or lower down the social scale. In the Grand Theft Auto games, Rockstar have always focused on clothing – something they first made an effort to include 11 years ago. When Grand Theft Auto: III was released for the PC, users had the option to switch between two outfits in the game.
Since then, things have changed a lot. Just two years after the release of Grand Theft Auto: III, we got, what’s now known as the legendary Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Players were able to select not only what Cj wore but other things too – such as tattoos and hairstyles. This much loved character customization ability was later reduced significantly in future Grand Theft Auto games.

Currently, Grand Theft Auto V is only in development for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, however, Rockstar Games recently stated that they are open to the idea of porting the title to other platforms.
IGN asked Dan Houser, Rockstar Games’ vice president, why the studio was not developing a PC or Wii U version of Grand Theft Auto V. Houser did not confirm any future plans for the title, but did state that nothing has been ruled out at this point.
“Everything else is up for consideration. That’s all I can give you. The main thing is we are not… we are a third-party publisher. We’re not Nintendo, we’re not Sony, we’re not Microsoft. We love all of them in different ways. But we can do what we want wherever there’s the appropriate business opportunity and chance to find a market. If that’s on Apple we put something on Apple.

A few weeks ago Rockstar finally revealed that "Grand Theft Auto V" would be making its way to Xbox 360 and PS3 in Spring 2013. No other platforms were even mentioned in the official announcement, but it turns out the publisher hasn't ruled out the possibility of GTA V showing up on Wii U or PC.

With Grand Theft Auto V now confirmed for spring 2013 launch, Rockstar Games is starting to ratchet up their marketing push for the next installment in their flagship IP by releasing several new screenshots and details.
Dutch website Gamer.nl has both a preview of Grand Theft Auto V and an interview with Rockstar’s Dan Houser. The majority of the new details about the game focus on the three main characters (Trevor, Franklin and Michael), however, there are other interesting bits of information (like how the game world is “five times” larger than Red Dead Redemption) that make the translated preview worth reading through.
To go along with the preview Rockstar has released several new screenshots for the upcoming game. Unlike prior screenshot releases that lacked in both quality and quantity, these new assets show off the new protagonists and give a good insight into much of what Grand Theft Auto V has to offer.

A few months ago, Rockstar Games said they intended to make $1 billion in revenue before the end of March 2013. A nice figure but one that because their recent release, the rather excellent Max Payne 3, didn’t sell all that well, is surely only realistic with the release of Grand Theft Auto V within the next seven months.
Interestingly enough, Max Payne 3′s original release date was in March. Furthermore, a very old clue, from the tear in the bottom of the Episodes From Liberty City manual, hints at GTA V “opening in March.”
Note the bottom right corner.
With the recent news on Grand Theft Auto V not being at GamesCom 2012, it seems unlikely that the game will launch in October or even December, otherwise Rockstar would be advertising the game more heavily at this point.

The second issue of the Max Payne miniseries hits next week while Darksiders II has a digital comic on the way from Dark Horse, and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots gets a novel from the late sci-fi author Keikaku (Project) Itoh.
The book will also include an essay by Hideo Kojima, who was a friend of Itoh. Released as part of the Metal Gear 25th anniversary festivities, the novel brings the story of Guns of the Patriots to the page in what sounds like a direct novelization of the game's script.
Here's the synopsis:
Metal Gear Solid: Guns Of The Patriots delivers the latest bullet-ridden adventures of Solid Snake, a crack soldier who is part of a worldwide nanotechnology network known as the Sons of the Patriots. Time is running out for Snake though, as he will soon succumb to the Foxdie virus, but not before...

The bane of my existence in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 gets a shirt in the Capcom store. And hey, it's cool if you want the world to know that you support this pint-sized, laser sword wielding bully. For everyone else it serves as notice that you're a fan of Mega Man, just not the one who's into fair play.
...
I hate you so much, Zero.
The shirt proclaims Zero the "Defender of Mega City," and features everyone's favorite friend of Reploids. It's actually a pretty cool propganda-style design.
The shirt is available now in the Capcom store.

With Max Payne 3 a little under two weeks away, today Rockstar will begin providing Max's fans with the larger story of the troubled ex-nypd Detective's even more troubled history. Max Payne: After the Fall is a digital comic written by Sam Lake, who also wrote the first two Max Payne games, along with Dan Houser, Vice President of Creative at Rockstar and the writer behind Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption. Featuring inks by Fernando Blanco and covers by Greg Horn, the series will tell stories set around and before the first two games, heading into the third.
With that in mind, we spoke to Sam and Dan about the creation of the book, getting back to Max again after all this time, and what goes on in the damaged detective's head.
What makes Max Payne tick and how do you feel that Max has evolved as a character over the last decade?...
