[on the failure of Joseph Losey's film, "Secret Ceremony" (1968)]: It should have been the story of two people who love and trust each other until one leans on the other a little bit more than she should. Unfortunately, the kind of sympathy Losey shows for people in real life was absent from the relationship, which is what I think made it unacceptable.
