- Born and raised in Miami, Raquel Roque Herring began her theatrical and musical ambitions at the tender age of 7. Her experience as a performer quickly rose from performing in the house to numerous professional stage and television productions. Raquel put her gift to work and captured the heart of the country with her fourteen wins on the national talent show Star Search earning two major title wins as "Best Teen Vocalist" and "Best Teen Performer", which she became known as the little girl possessed with a big voice.
In her continuous pursuit of success, Raquel earned and was offered a role as a Mouseketeer on the Disney Channels "Mickey Mouse Club". Starring in 95 episodes, Raquel continued to make her mark nationally as a multi-talented performer. With the recent success of other Mouseketeers like Keri Russell, Christina Aguilera, Brittany Spears, and Justin Timberlake the focus and attention has placed an additional spotlight on Raquel.
Following the Mickey Mouse Club, Raquel made her Broadway musical debut. Roque played the lead role of Betsey Brown in the Emily Mann smash "Betsey Brown", with singer/actresses Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold, achieving acclamations, notability and rave reviews from the New York Times, Playbill and critics alike. Capturing the attention of several records executives, Raquel continues to option the opportunity of beginning a successful recording career.
Raquel has continued to hone her craft as an actress. Raquel took on the very difficult and challenging role of Dorothy Dandridge in the national hit musical "Sang Sista Sang" and has appeared on various television shows co-starring on the hit UPN sitcom comedy "The Parkers" as well as the MTV movie "Carmen".
