RENÉE Zellweger. Even more stunning than when I saw her last. Navy Carolina Herrera overblouse. Hair a spun-gold cloud. On the forefinger, square-cut turquoise the size of her Oscar, "which I found in an old antique shop in Connecticut." And care to hear how two gals greet one another?
Renée: "Ohhh, love your lashes."
Me: "They're from a box. But yours are better-looking than mine."
Renée: "Duane Reade."
We were at Michael's restaurant celebrating "Living Proof." It's the movie she co-produced with "Chicago's" Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. It's made by Sony.

A host of fashion icons and designers including Victoria Beckham, Naomi Campbell and Carolina Herrera took time out on Monday night to pay tribute to late style maestro Yves Saint Laurent at an awards event honouring the industry's best.
Top designer Diane von Furstenberg held back tears as she gave a somber speech remembering the legendary French designer - who died on Sunday - at the Council of Fashion Designers of America awards gala in New York City's Public Library, reports the New York Daily News.
Von Furstenberg, the head of the organisation, told guests: "Tonight the world of fashion is mourning. Yves is an artist who always surprised us with his silhouette and colour palettes. He was a magician who changed the way women dressed forever.
"Like so many great artists, his life and his work really do live on."
Saint Laurent died from a brain tumour at the age of 71, following a long period of bad health.

Katie Holmes dropped out of attending a New York City fashion gala at the last minute on Monday night because she didn't want to be the focus of attention following the revelation she is dating Tom Cruise. The Wonder Boys beauty was due to sit at designer Carolina Herrera's table at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala, but wanted some time out of the limelight after being overwhelmed by the level of recent attention. Cruise's sister and publicist Lee Anne Devette confirmed the rumors of a romance were true after the couple were spotted together in Italy last week. Holmes' spokesperson tells the New York Daily News, "Katie loves Mrs. Herrera. But after returning from abroad, she was extremely overwhelmed with what is happening in her life right now." Organizers were relieved the 26-year-old stayed away because Cruise's ex-wife Nicole Kidman was acting as co-chairwoman of the Chanel exhibit.
