Los Angeles based nonprofit, If You Heard What I Heard, is proud to announce the release of Josh Gad's interview as part of its digital story-telling collection to preserve Holocaust memory and make it relatable for today. Gad’s interview is one of 40 interviews in total and is the nonprofit’s first celebrity interview since launching in April, 2021.
“To be able to share my grandfather’s story of survival during the Holocaust at a time where we’re seeing so much antisemitism, I hope those watching will gain a better understanding of the dangers of antisemitism, and how important it is that we all stand up to it,” said Gad. About participating in If You Heard What I Heard, Gad continued, “The work being done by If You Heard What I Heard is critical to ensuring we, as a society, make sure the world will never forget stories like...

Hunger
Stars: Lori Heuring, Linden Ashby, Joe Egender | Written by L.D. Goffigan | Directed by Steven Hentges
Imagine a social experiment where five people are tracked within a dungeon provided with only water and a clock counting down to some unknown event. I know, Big Brothers got a lot to answer for right? This is Hunger.
Five people wake up in an underground dungeon in a premise that is very reminiscent of Saw II, they have never met before but are all connected in some way. From the bones strewn it’s clear that people have been and died there before but other than that there is no evidence of a way out. As the hunger grows the newly formed society within the group begins to fracture as the almost omnipresent figure of their captor watches on by camera, waiting for that moment they turn on each other and the battle to survive will begin.

After a couple of light on horror weeks, we are finally treated to a bumper crop of new releases. Headlining the week is Frozen, which is just what we in Southern California need to stave off our current heat wave. A couple of oldies but goodies are out, too, as Madman celebrates its Happy 30th Birthday and the original King Kong comes to Blu-ray. Fangoria's eight FrightFest titles bow as well.
Frozen
Directed by Adam Green
In Frozen (review), Adam Green has crafted a potent combination of absolute terror and compelling human drama that will stick with you long after you've left the theatre or turned off the DVD. One thing's for sure: The next time your friends invite you on a ski weekend, odds are you'll try to convince them to head to the beach instead. Frozen stars Shawn Ashmore, Emma Bell and Kevin Zegers.
Buy the Blu-ray or the regular DVD.

When discussing a film called Hunger, you’re naturally inclined to chuckle a bit if the director says, “We had an amazing caterer. She fed the crew big, hearty meals.” But it’s also part of a larger point that Steven Hentges is making about independent filmmaking at the moment, and it makes a ton of sense. “On a low-budget film, the best thing you can do is feed your crew well,” he notes.

Got an appetite for suffering? Fango’s got the exclusive debut of the unrated trailer for Steven Hentges’ Hunger (see it below), and info on where you can catch screenings of the film later this week.
The film stars The Poker Club’s Lori Heuring as one of five strangers who awake in an enclosed dungeon and subject to an experiment in depravity. The subjects are left without food, and as their hunger increases, their humanity strips away to reveal the lengths we will go to for survival. “Hunger, for me is about humanity and how far people will go to survive in extreme circumstances,” the director tells Fango. “The genesis came in a screenplay that the writer had submitted to a Slamdance Film Festival competition, and became a finalist. It was an idea I always loved, really inspired by something like Lifeboat, where you have strangers trapped together in...
