7 most underrated moments from The Big Bang Theory (Photo Credit – Instagram)
The Big Bang Theory remains one of the American entertainment industry’s most beloved and unforgettable sitcoms. The top-rated hit show lasted twelve seasons and entertained its fans with great moments, incredible cast chemistry, and unstoppable laughs. After popular sitcoms like Friends and How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory became the most successful hang-out show and received massive ratings, with a whopping 18 million audience.
Although The Big Bang Theory received a second spinoff, Georgie and Many’s First Marriage, after the conclusion of Young Sheldon, the original show’s popularity and its best moments had been long forgotten by its fanbase, these are not iconic moments; instead, they are character beats that were mostly underrated.

The last few seasons of The Big Bang Theory may be considered less consistent, but they contain some hidden gems.

Fred Zinnemann’s admirably faithful 1973 adaptation of Frederick Forsyth’s The Day Of The Jackal managed two rather unusual feats. It was, on the one hand, a surprising triumph of the mundane, with Michael Lonsdale’s methodical, shoe-leather approach to investigation paying dividends in what was essentially a nation-hopping police procedural. More interesting, though, was the way its dual Pov narrative encouraged audiences to root just as hard for Edward Fox’s cold-blooded assassin — a nameless cypher, about whom we end the film knowing almost nothing. It’s that latter point that Top Boy creator Ronan Bennett has seized upon with this modernised adaptation, electing to properly delve into the character of Forsyth’s chameleonic killer.
We become acquainted with Eddie Redmayne’s exceedingly British gun-for-hire via an extended prologue in which he meticulously sets up and executes a show-stopping kill. After baiting...

The Big Bang Theory had its fair share of memorable moments, but there’s one overlooked episode where things got particularly mischievous—and Chuck Lorre was the mastermind. Imagine taking one of history’s greatest physicists and giving him a troll makeover.

Ahan, this episode had none other than one of the world’s Greatest Physicists trolling our favorite science gang with the kind of humor no one saw coming. Lorre took the classic brains-meet-banter combo to a whole new level, and it’s the subtle genius of this episode that fans don’t give nearly enough credit.

Donald Trump has revealed that he is inclined to release the Jeffrey Epstein list if he ever gets a chance to look at it. He shared that Epstein maintained relationships with a lot of people, and some of them visited his island, but he added that he was not one of them. However, Trump also added that releasing the Epstein list is not similar to releasing the documents pertaining to John F. Kennedy’s assassination.

The Big Bang Theory has had a slew of industry giants cameo in its epic 12-season long run. Be it Stephen Hawking, Elon Musk, or James Earl Jones, there have been appearances that just fit perfectly into a show made for nerds and geeks.

Sandra Bullock, a long-time favorite of Kunal Nayyar’s Rajesh Koothrappali, was also expected to make a cameo in the show, but it was scrapped due to scheduling conflicts. However, it might have been for the best, given the amount of backlash that the character’s ending received.

In the series finale, The Stockholm Syndrome, almost all of the main cast members were given a romantic happy ending.

Throughout its 12 season and 12 year run, Chuck Lorre's blockbuster CBS sitcom "The Big Bang Theory" played host to a ton of guest stars, from several "Star Trek" veterans to the late James Earl Jones and the legendary scholar Stephen Hawking. According to an oral history of the series, though, one particular Oscar winner, Sandra Bullock, had to turn down a role in the series finale, "The Stockholm Syndrome," due to scheduling conflicts.
In Jessica Radloff's 2022 book "The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series," executive producer Steve Holland revealed that the show's creatives tried to book Bullock for a short cameo opposite Kunal Nayyar's character Raj Koothrappali in the episode, but she wasn't available, so "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Sarah Michelle Gellar stepped in. So, what was the scene in question?...

Lives of historical figures often get cinematic treatment to tell sweeping tales of real life events, and Ali Abbasi’s The Apprentice captures former president Donald Trump in a key moment before the 2024 presidential election. Starring Sebastian Stan as Trump, Jeremy Strong as Roy Cohn and Maria Bakalova as Trump’s first wife Ivanka, the film marks the latest in a catalog of films that explore the lives of political people. From United States Presidents to their wives and First Ladies, to Supreme Court Justices to scientists and brilliant minds, nobody is off limits, especially if the stories are triumphant. Others have more tragic endings.

While the Best Supporting Actress Oscar is often awarded to an ingenue, like the 2022 winner Ariana DeBose (“West Side Story”), it can also be a way to reward a more seasoned performer. In 2024, Da’Vine Joy Randolph (“The Leftovers”) won on her first nomination A year earlier Jamie Lee Curtis had reaped her first Oscar bid at age 64 and prevailed for “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” In 2021 Youn Yuh-jung, who is renowned in her native South Korea, won at age 73 for her first English film, “Minari.” And in 2020, the academy honored past nominee Laura Dern who finally took home an Oscar for her scene-stealing performance in “Marriage Story.” (Scroll down for the most up-to-date 2025 Oscar predictions for Best Supporting Actress.)
While Dern was clearly a featured player in her picture, two of her rival nominees, Florence Pugh and Margot Robbie, could easily have submitted themselves in lead for their roles in “Little Women” and “Bombshell” respectively.

The Legendary physicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking began his professional acting career in 1993 after appearing on an episode of "Star Trek: The Next Generation." In the episode "Descent", a holographic recreation of Hawking was manifested on the holodeck to play a round of poker with Albert Einstein (Jim Norton), Isaac Newton (John Neville), and the android Data (Brent Spiner). With that episode, Hawking seems to have ascended from a world-renowned Lucasian professor of Mathematics into a legitimate pop culture icon.
Indeed, in 1999, Hawking made the first of four appearances on "The Simpsons," playing himself each time; his performances had to be limited because of his amyotrophic lateral sclerosis which required the use of a wheelchair and his speech only capable through an electronic speaking machine. In the episode "They Saved Lisa's Brain", Lisa Simpson (Yeardley Smith) was inducted into Mensa,...

If you're even a little bit familiar with "The Big Bang Theory," you know that it's always been sold as a "show about nerds" — so it makes sense that it featured a whole bunch of actors who also appeared in the "Star Trek" franchise.
Chuck Lorre's hit sitcom, which ran for 12 seasons and stars Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Kaley Cuoco, Melissa Rauch, and Mayim Bialik — who play Sheldon Cooper, Leonard Hofstadter, Howard Wolowitz, Raj Koothrappali, Penny Hofstadter, Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz, and Amy Farrah Fowler, respectively — featured many, many cameos from pop culture icons, including the late James Earl Jones, Stephen Hawking, and even Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee. Throughout those 12 seasons, a lot of "Star Trek" veterans also showed up in cameo roles. So, who were they, and what did these "Star Trek" actors do during their appearances on "The Big Bang Theory?"

In the realm of geeky humor and quirky characters, The Big Bang Theory served up its fair share of memorable moments, but one scene had Jim Parsons tipping his hat to Simon Helberg. That particular moment wasn’t just another laugh; it left Parsons in awe of Helberg’s talent. As Sheldon Cooper, Parsons is no stranger to heavy lifting, but when it came to this scene, Helberg’s performance was simply absolutely astounding.

Multiverse of Sadness: Kroger Captivates with Cryptic Cold War Sci-Fi Exploit
Although it will invariably be confused with the 2014 Stephen Hawking biopic, Timm Kröger’s fascinating sophomore feature The Universal Theory (Die Theorie Von Allem) blends modern cinema’s excessive obsession with the notion of the multiverse into a gloomy, sci-fi neo noir. It’s also a fatalistic, overcast love story, reminiscent of everything from Solaris (1972) to Alain Resnais’ Je t’aime Je T’aime (1968), utilizing contemporary fascinations folded into vintage aesthetics. In the wake of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer (2023), Kröger’s film arrives as if from some fortuitous concentric time loop to revel in the ripple effects of the atomic bomb.…...

Audiences familiar with J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World have at least once dreamed of being a part of the Harry Potter universe. Strolling through the enchanted corridors of Hogwarts, casting spells, every other Potterhead has once aspired to be a wizard with their own Sorting Hat moment. For the Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne, that moment came long before he became the gentle magizoologist Newt Scamander, in the Fantastic Beasts franchise.

At the beginning of the "Star Trek: The Next Generation" episode "Descent, Part I", Data (Brent Spiner) is spending some free time on the holodeck. He has arranged a poker game with three of the greatest minds the scientific community has ever known. Sir Isaac Newton (John Neville) is arrogant and impatient. Albert Einstein (Jim Norton) is affable, but an aggravating poker player, as he struggles with basic arithmetic. And, sitting across from Data, making science jokes and poking fun at Newton and Einstein, is Stephen Hawking, playing himself.
Hawking gets the opening line of the episode, completing an anecdote: "But then I said, in that frame of reference, the perihelion of Mercury would have precessed in the opposite direction." Einstein laughs, and Data declares the story to be very amusing. Data tries to explain the joke to Newton, who would not have known about the relativistic curvature of space-time.

A show doesn't necessarily have to feature "likable" characters in order to qualify as a "good" show. The characters on "Succession" are all varying degrees of reprehensible. Every single member of "the gang" on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is extremely horrible (on purpose). If you actively rooted for Walter White by the end of "Breaking Bad," you should give that a second thought. All of this is to say that likability isn't a required trait for fictional characters, but some shows do want you to relate to their characters somehow.
"The Big Bang Theory" doesn't have the venom or acidity of either "Succession" or "Always Sunny," and it seems to want you to identify with at least one of its main characters. Still, Chuck Lorre's show wants to have it both ways and paint these same characters as larger-than-life to the point where some of them are incredibly off-putting ... so much so,...

This post contains spoilers for "Evil."
The age of streaming is full of problems. TV shows are getting extremely expensive, seasons are getting too short while the wait between them becomes too long, and shows are getting canceled before they have a chance to hit their groove. Even when shows are successful according to every metric, they can get canceled just for reasons that have nothing to do with their quality, like corporate cost-cutting.
Such is the case with "Evil," the best horror TV show since "Hannibal" and "The Exorcist." It's a series that mixes network procedurals with all-time great tales of the macabre, giving audiences monster-of-the-week stories that not only feature some of the best creature work on TV, but also tell poignant stories about the hell of modern existence and how the devil can't compare to the evil of the internet and late-stage capitalism. Being one of the biggest sitcoms of the 21st century, The Big Bang Theory was no stranger to major guest appearances, which involved the likes of Charlie Sheen, Carrie Fisher, Stan Lee, etc. Moreover, it was common for scientists and physicists to pay a visit to the sitcom as it was notable among the science community for making subjects, including Physics and astronomy, look cool.

Welcome to your Evil Season 4 Episode 13 recap. This is, sadly, the penultimate episode. You can enjoy a discussion about the episode, as well.
David announces that today is the last mass as the building will be deconsecrated and sold. He finds a note “from a friend” on the vestibule that says to meet at their sacred place.
Kristen tells David she got teary-eyed, and David admitted it was odd that he felt closest to the two atheists in the building. As they ponder their last assessment, men arrive with ladders, ready to tear the place down.

Father Katagas from the Vatican is in David’s office. All the files are gone, but he has one last case for them. It turns out that the Vatican did not close them down; the archdiocese did.

Have we really reached the penultimate episode?
Is Evil Season 4 Episode 13 the last time we will be looking forward to another episode of this thought-provoking series?
Dammit, it’s just mean to bring Evil to a screeching halt.
(Alyssa Longchamp/Paramount+)
We’ve got a full recap of “Fear the Unholy” if you’re looking for details. Here’s where the discussion happens (as if I could ever hope to do Evil justice with words on a page).
There was no hiding the fact that Kristen’s words were spoken on behalf of everyone who has brought Evil to life and those of us who have watched it. It’s not just sad; it’s mean.
(Alyssa Longchamp/Paramount+)
We’re literally at the end of the road, but there is still so much to be explored. Just look at this list of goodies:
There were two “case of the week” storylines.

For me, it’s both a fascinating privilege and a daunting business to write about Evil. I mean, I had no idea that I’d be here sharing my love for this fantastic show with you all when I first clicked play on the pilot back in 2019. And now, while I continue to reel from the whimsical and very, very reference-heavy Fear of the Unholy, all I can think about is how there’s just one more episode to go until Evil closes up shop. But I wouldn’t worry too much about things being left unfinished next week. From the looks of what the penultimate episode has built up to, I think we’re either gonna be very thrilled or absolutely devastated by Evil’s ending. It’s always good to have closure either way, right?

Director James Marsh has had great success telling the stories of extraordinary people. He won an Oscar for his documentary Man on Wire, about tightrope walker Philippe Petit, and his Stephen Hawking biopic, The Theory of Everything, which won several awards, including Oscars. So Dance First — a biography about the iconic author and playwright Samuel Beckett (Waiting for Godot), directed by Marsh and starring Garbiel Byrne (Hereditary) and Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones) — should be a slam dunk. Unfortunately, despite its attempts to break convention, Dance First feels far too safe to make much of an impact.

Dance First tells the story of Irish writer Samuel Beckett and his incredible life, from his childhood to fighting in the French resistance during WWII to becoming one of the world’s most prolific writers and winning a Nobel Prize for literature. The Big Bang Theory has been a beloved and timeless sitcom for many reasons. While it is hilarious in every way and has fans from all walks of life, there is one aspect that has made it especially appealing to a certain audience. Being a love letter to the scientific and geek communities, the series places special emphasis on the misfits that get alienated by society. With this in mind, several moments in the show were extremely exciting for fans of the superhero and science fiction worlds.

Known for having some of the most wild cameos from the worlds of science and science fiction, the show featured figures like Stephen Hawking, Carrie Fisher, and even Elon Musk. It is safe to say that it has been very impressive with the people it has allowed into its cast. One such person happened to be Leonard Nimoy.

Pauly Shore and Richard Simmons’ family are clashing over a proposed biopic of the late fitness icon that is supposed to star Shore. The actor and comedian told Entertainment Tonight in an interview published July 30 that he was still developing the movie following Simmons’ death last month. Shore also cast doubt on Simmons’ own disapproval of the unauthorized biopic.
“I know he wanted me to do it,” Shore told Et. “I don’t even know if that was him tweeting [disapproval] the whole time, to be quite honest. I don’t know who that was.”
Simmons’ staff and brother, Lenny, took to the late entertainment figure’s X/Twitter account to set the record straight and to continue to stress that Simmons never gave Shore his blessing for the biopic.

We’ve seen Eddie Redmayne in all kinds of modes over the years – as genius physicist Stephen Hawking in The Theory Of Everything, as introverted wizard Newt Scamander in the Fantastic Beasts films, as a megalomaniacal space deity in Jupiter Ascending. But now, we’ll see him in an all-new light – the series adaptation of classic ‘70s thriller film The Day Of The Jackal has Redmayne as its titular Jackal, a master assassin whose sharp-shooting exploits find him hunted down by the authorities. Here, that’s Lashana Lynch’s intelligence officer Bianca, ready to embark on a cat-and-mouse chase to take the Jackal down. Watch the tense trailer here:
The series is a new adaptation of Frederick Forsyth’s novel of the same name (previously re-adapted as 1997 Bruce Willis-starring film The Jackal), but swaps the ‘70s setting for the current political climate. Top Boy creator Ronan Bennett is on writing duties,...

Chuck Lorre’s name is synonymous with some of the most popular sitcoms on television over the years. Known as the ‘King of sitcoms’, the writer and producer’s works include Dharma and Greg, and his two big blockbusters Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory, both of which had a hugely successful run on television.

While binge-watching Netflix may be the last thing you want to do this summer, streaming a few movies on a cozy movie night can never hurt. And thanks to the steamer's extensive library, you won't be left out of options.
If you already have your subscription active for the rest of July, you might as well take your last chance and check out these 8 movies that are leaving the platform this month.
The Beguiled (2017)
If you enjoyed Sofia Coppola's recent hit Priscilla, which tells the story of the disastrous love and abuse in Priscilla Presley's marriage to Elvis, chances are you'll find 2017's The Beguiled just as exciting.
Set in the mid-1800s, the movie follows Martha Farnsworth, who runs a school for girls in Virginia during the American Civil War. Starring Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman and Kirsten Dunst, this period thriller has no chance of leaving anyone indifferent.

Over the years, The Big Bang Theory has become a place of comfort for many of its viewers. The show ran for twelve years, and since the release of its very first episode, it has become timeless in every definition of the word. Jim Parsons’s portrayal of Sheldon Cooper was frustratingly good, and audiences could not help but fall in love with his quirks.

The Big Bang Theory has been wreaking havoc among viewers ever since it first started airing back in 2007, with all the guest celebrity appearances further adding stars to the already star-studded show. One of these very surprise arrivals was from none other than the incredibly legendary English theoretical physicist, cosmologist, and author: The late Stephen Hawking.

That said, the episode he appeared in also featured actor Simon Helberg, who played Howard Wolowitz in the fan-favorite series, making an impression of the late legend. Good news for people who don’t want to spend a single second of the summertime outdoors — all six seasons of the hit ABC series Lost are now streaming on Netflix. Judging from the reaction on social media, a lot of people are excited to rewatch the popular, and frequently misunderstood, sci-fi series.
While we mostly remember Lost for its dramatic storylines, wacky twists and improbably hot plane crash survivors, there was some comedy to be found in the show too. Case in point, Hurley’s dad was played by the great Cheech Marin, who somehow wasn’t responsible for creating the “Smoke Monster.”

For more than ten years of its run on TV, The Big Bang Theory has succeeded in getting probably the most impressive collection of guest stars, with some of them being none other than Elon Musk, Stephen Hawking, Carrie Fisher, Stan Lee, Bob Newhart and many others.
As the show proceeded with more seasons over the course of the time, some of those stars got so involved in the storyline that showed up more than just once, considering that Sheldon’s forever favorite scientist, Stephen Hawking, was featured in seven episodes.
However, even with that long list of huge stars, The Big Bang Theory reached a whole new level when it got another famous physicist for one of the last season’s episodes, and Sheldon would definitely be freaking out right now.

Throughout its seven-season run that ended several weeks ago, The Big Bang Theory’s prequel Young Sheldon has always been the show the return of which was highly anticipated, though it still left some fans disappointed by the series’ disregard for what The Big Bang Theory had once talked about.
For years that Young Sheldon was aired on TV, the original show’s long-standing lovers have been repeatedly pointing out the prequel’s plot holes for which not a single explanation could ever work out. Among all the inconsistencies that have somehow distorted Sheldon Cooper’s life story, one seems especially weird if we take into account the character’s quirky, yet meticulous personality.
In Young Sheldon’s episode 16 of season 3, the titular character goes all the way from Texas to visit CalTech, the university where he later on will study and work, for Stephen Hawking’s lecture. Given that...

Eddie Redmayne had one of the best moments in his career when he won the Oscar for his performance as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything. The actor did immense research and training to portray the late theoretical physicist accurately and received widespread acclaim.
However, despite such training, the British actor found himself suffering from intense anxiety and lack of sleep before filming the 2014 biopic. Recently in an interview, Eddie Redmayne confessed that he could not sleep for the entire night worrying if he could do justice to the role.

Young Sheldon boss Steve Holland would like to use this opportunity to address the fate of Paige Swanson (and debunk all of your tragic theories about her absence in The Big Bang Theory).
Mckenna Grace’s character, a fellow child prodigy, was introduced early in Season 2 of the prequel series and served as Sheldon’s chief rival at East Texas Tech. Aside from Tam, who crossed over to Big Bang, she was the closest thing that Sheldon had to a friend, and remained an acquaintance for many years, eventually befriending Sheldon’s twin sister Missy.

Alejandro González Iñárritu's Oscar-winning film "Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)" was a pretty ballsy move to make in 2014. The film stars Michael Keaton as actor Riggan Thompson, a once-massive Hollywood action star who has aged out of action roles. Notably, Riggan starred in three crowd-pleasing superhero movies about Birdman, a Batman-like vigilante. Keaton, of course, played Batman in 1989, 1991, and 2023.
Riggan is set to star in a high-profile Broadway production, hoping to prove to himself and the world that he is a pliable and capable actor, not merely a nostalgia-laced superhero figure. There is a lot of dialogue in "Birdman" about how superhero movies are the antithesis of art and that superhero actors are aggressively robbed of their thespian instincts. Good actors, Riggan complains, are ripped from meaningful projects and thrust into commercial FX bonanzas where they are expected to do little beyond pose and wear silly costumes.
