He was awarded the 1997 Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for Best Set Designer of 1996 for "Stanley" at the Royal National Theatre: Cottesloe stage.
He was awarded the 2002 Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for Best Set Designer of 2001 for "Humble Boy" at the Royal National Theatre Lyttelton; and "Private Lives" performed at the Albery Theatre in London, England.
He was awarded the 1999 London Evening Standard Theatre Award for Best Stage Designer for "Suddenly Last Summer," "Sleep With Me," and "The Darker Face of The Earth.".
He was awarded the 2002 Tony Award as Best Scenic Designer for "Private Lives" on Broadway in New York City.
He was awarded the 2010 Scenic Design for "Monty Python's Spamalot" at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
