Was the glue of the Mets infield for more than a decade
(1965-1977).
Named to the National League All Star teams in 1970 and 1971; was the
starting shortstop in the 1971 game in Detroit.
Served as third base coach for the Mets under manager Davey Johnson;
succeeded Johnson as manager in 1990 and remained in that capacity
until the final week of the 1991 season.
Was Tom Seaver's roommate when the Mets were on the road.
