J.L. Hardy was born on 10 June 1894 in London, England. He was a writer, known for Everything Is Thunder (1936) and The Key (1934). He died on 30 May 1958 in London, England.
April 1925, he retired from the army on account of ill-health caused by his wounds. He worked for Lloyds Bank in Pall Mall, London and later went into full-time book writing and farming at Washpit Farm near King's Lynn, Norfolk. His publications were often based on his own true-life adventures.
