Destination America has two new paranormal-themed TV shows hitting the airwaves in September, and we have all the info you need on both of them right here so settle in and check out the details of "Ghost Asylum" and "Amish Haunting."
From the Press Release:
Investigating abandoned insane asylums is dangerous and downright terrifying, but in Destination America’s all-new series "Ghost Asylum" a fearless crew is on a quest to hunt down chain-rattling ghosts and scary apparitions by any means possible, even if that requires luring themselves as the decoy.
"Ghost Asylum" follows the most passionate paranormal team in America, the Tennessee Wraith Chasers, as they examine some of America’s most frightening asylums, sanitariums, and mental hospitals. Their goal isn’t just to conjure spirits and collect evidence, but they are on a mission to physically capture restless souls with their cutting-edge ghost traps and self-trained Tennessean wit.

The list is out. Pretty straightforward, with a few surprises (No Todd Klein or John Workman for lettering? And was Whatever Happened To The Caped Crusader not eligible?)
Our congratulations to all the nominees. We'll be starting the betting pools in 3... 2...

Ray Bradbury’S Fahrenheit 451: The Authorized Adaptation by Tim Hamilton (Hill & Wang, 149 pp, hc, $30; also available in tpb, $16.95).
Ray Bradbury is one of science fiction’s greatest writers (and one of my personal faves for more than four decades). Although two of his other books (Something Wicked This Way Comes, The Martian Chronicles) remain my own favorites, Fahrenheit 451 (1953) is still Bradbury’s most important work. It’s the story of futuristic fireman Guy Montag whose job (as it “always” has been) is to burn books and thereby render the dangerous ideas they contain unto ashes. Then one day, Montag begins to think for himself.
You’ve read it, I hope. I have, but you know that was 40 years ago—and until finishing Tim Hamilton’s spectacular new graphic novel adaptation, I had almost forgotten just how powerful Fahrenheit 451 is, just how incendiary its celebration of the...

From classic literature to political campaigns, comics have always been used illustrate a lot more than superhero stories. Tonight, comics will serve a particularly unique role in an ABC News special about the impact of climate change and global warming — and they’ve recruited some notable comic creators to help tell their tale.
The centerpiece of the special, titled “Earth 2100,” will take the form of a first-person, fictional narrative by a 91-year-old woman born on June 2, 2009. While the special is peppered with scientist interviews, simulations and user-created videos about the potential effects of climate change, the bulk of the two-hour program will involve the narrator’s account of life in the year 2100, told using animated “graphic novel elements.”
Among the creators who contributed these comics-style elements are several members of Act-i-Vate, the prominent New York City-based webcomic collective, including Josh Neufeld (”A.D.: New orleans After The Deluge”) and Joe Infurnari (”Jersey Gods,...
