As the actor stars in Netflix’s new comedy Like Father he discusses the difficulties of fatherhood, Frasier reboot rumors and his thoughts on Roseanne
Kelsey Grammer seems like a guy who has a grip on his emotions. Not only did he devote 20 years to playing therapist Frasier Crane, but the fame that followed forced him to navigate the toughest moments of his life in public.
He’s spent decades talking about tragedy: the separate murders of his father, Frank, and sister, Karen; the scuba diving accident that killed his twin half-brothers; his struggles with alcohol and cocaine addiction; and his three ex-wives and complex custody arrangements. At 63 and happily married to fourth wife Kayte Walsh, with whom he has three young kids bringing the grand total of the Grammer brood to seven, the veteran actor has the solidity of a boulder that knows it can withstand a toppling breeze.

Between “Boat Trip,” “Titanic,” and “Speed 2: Cruise Control,” Hollywood hasn’t really done any favors to the luxury cruise industry. Everybody knows that being stuck on a floating hotel with a few choice members of your family, a zillion overeager strangers, and one nasty food-borne stomach virus is basically the closest to hell a human can get without dying, but the movies have managed to make the experience look even worse than it seems. Remember what happened to those poor bastards in “Poseidon”? Their ship flipped upside down in the middle of a New Year’s party and they were forced to spend the rest of the night with Johnny Drama. And those folks got off easy compared to the passengers in “Deep Rising,” who were almost killed by terrorists before a crudely rendered CG kraken showed up to slaughter them in a different way.
But all of that...

Larry stoops to his lowest level yet in ignoring the feelings of his loyal assistant, slandering his dermatologist, implying that his best friend Jeff has had an affair, and then getting into a cupboard war.
Larry David gets everything he had coming to him in last night’s July 31 episode. First, he makes the big mistake of dating the comely hostess Heidi at his favorite lunchtime restaurant, which is five minutes from his office.
Bad idea, his good friend Richard warns him — “I sh*t where I ate all over Beverly Hills and I’m down to four restaurants.”
It’s completely obvious that Larry’s new love affair is in trouble when he shows off Heidi’s text to Jeff and points out the annoying smiley face that she signs off with.
Later, in the midst of a make out session with Heidi, Larry can’t help himself from bringing it up.
