Take Leisha Hailey and Camila Grey, add the storyline between “Lynn” and “Finn” from the CW’s Girlfriends (currently off air), and mix it with Anime and you’ve got “Strange Fame.”
The new animated lesbian sci-fi movie focuses on the story of Naia and Parker, two queer musicians who are smitten by each other and begin making music -- and love.
“Strange Fame” is directed and co-written by Gb Hajim and openly lesbian musician Shelley Doty, distributed by Wolfe Video. Veteran stars such as Tim Curry ("Ricky Horror Picture Show"), George Takei ("Star Trek") and Juliet Landau ("Buffy The Vampire Slayer") have lent their voices for the colorful and vibrant film about genetically modified lady lovers who are seduced by fame.
The film will become available for order on March 19 and is currently available for streaming via Sistah Sinema Online.

Good morning! Did you watch the Grammys last night? Well here are some of the most lesbian photos from the evening.
The only out lesbian winner of the whole affair was Janis Ian, who won for Best Spoken Word album.
Last week Fox News accidentally posted a photo of a lesbian couple's wedding for an article that praised traditional gender roles. Stephanie Fiagrelle was the one mistaken for a man by Fox, and decided to post a response on her Facebook. Here's part of it:
Instead of answering salivating reporters, I’ll post here. Yes, I’m aware that I look like a dude. I have known this my entire life- I’ll prove it by sharing baby photos sometime. I’ve gotten bullied, hit...

Strange Frame, an animated lesbian science fiction rock musical, arrives on DVD in March!
Strange Frame is—get this—an animated lesbian science fiction rock musical film, directed and co-written by G.B. Hajim.
The film is set at the end of the 28th century, at time when the human race has long since abandoned a desolate earth. In order to survive, humanity has been using genetic engineering to adapt to otherworld environments, to the point where changing one’s skin color or gender has become commonplace. On the moon Ganymede, saxophonist Parker (the voice of videogame voiceover veteran Claudia Black ) and guitarist Naia (Tara Strong, another busy videogame voice artist) are romantically drawn to each other. The two embark on their new relationship and form a new band — but they also must fight for their freedom from the evil Mig (Tim Curry,...

In the current climate of parody, pastiche, re-hashing, re-booting and recycling of films, it is so refreshing to see a film as unique, original and enjoyable as Strange Frame: Love and Sax. Billed as a animated sci-fi lesbian rock musical, it covers all these modes and blends them into a gorgeous and engrossing tale of the power of love and music. Something so dense in form and content should be overwhelming, but director and co-writer G.B. Hajim and co-writer Shelley Doty keep it pumping along at a smooth pace, making it an embarrassment of riches. In the distant future, humanity have abandoned the polluted Earth and colonized the moons of Jupiter. This has created an underclass of indentured slaves, as well as genetic mutations both for...

The world's first animated lesbian sci-fi film is headed our way.
As SheWired.com is reporting, the first clips of "Strange Frame," from producer, director and animator G.B. Hajim and writer Shelley Doty will premiere at Bent-Con, an Lgbt sci-fi and comic convention, in Los Angeles on December 3.
According to the project's Facebook page the film takes place in the 28th century when "humanity has spread across the solar system and re-invented itself to mesh with its new environment."
SheWired.com adds:
"200 years after the Great Earth Exodus, "Strange Frame"'s heroine, Parker leaves the comforts of her previous life and falls in love with beautiful songwriter Naia, who is genetically engineered and enslaved to be a miner. The lovers form a band but soon Naia is enslaved again, this time by the seductive spotlight of stardom. Facing the obstacles of fame in the future, Parker sets out on a...

Piqued your interested? I bet it has, but no, Giraud isn't directing or writing. He's just involved in design work on this great looking project which apparently mixes animation, cutouts and straight CGI in with a heavy technicolor flare and it reminds me a bit of the style of John Bergin's From Inside. This is the first installment in a planned quadrilogy done almost entirely by director and animator G.B. Hajim out of Hawaii, and musician Shelley Doty. Also, it seems that Lucas Films will be helping them do the final sound mix which will also include existing music from Pink Floyd. Release is scheduled for some winter 2010. I'd tell you about the story, but you can read it below.
It’s the 29th century. We’re on Ganymede, one of Jupiter’s moons. The human race has long since left a decimated Earth. To survive the harsh climates of other planets and moons,...
