At age 15 she won First Prize in the Citibank Essay Contest for all of
Westchester and Rockland County public high school students. Her winning essay was printed with a byline in The New York Times.
After graduating cum laude with a B.A. in political science from Duke
University, she deferred her acceptance to The Columbia School of
Journalism for two years to pursue her love of the theater and
acting.
As a journalist, she has written pieces for the arts and culture
magazines, BlackBook and Room 100, as well as, room100blog.com (the latter two are publications of Thompson Hotels).
She had the honor of holding her grandmother's hand (a Scottish
immigrant) while watching her father (a first generation American)
present a case before the U.S. Supreme Court. The Court ruled 9-0 in
his client's favor.
She appeared on The Martha Stewart Show, as part of "The Sisters Show",
on February 15th with her sister, Victoria, to talk about the book. Shortly after appearing on the show, the book went into a second printing.
