- Appeared on The Gong Show twice as a part of the poetry performance ensemble The Lost Tribe. On their first appearance, The Lost Tribe won with the lowest score in the show's history: 8. They were gonged off the show during their second appearance.

- His book Dreams Gone Mad With Hope by S.A. Griffin was released March 6, 2014 and celebrated at Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center in Venice, CA on his 60th birthday, March 16th.
- His wife Lorraine Perrotta, a librarian at the Huntington Library in San Marino, has been an active member of The LA Mudpeople for over 20 years.
- Drove over 11,000 miles in five weeks between April-June 2010 on his Poetry Bomb Couch Surfing Across America Tour of Words with Elsie The Poetry Bomb inside his 1995 Ford Econoline Van. Elsie, named after his paternal grandmother Elsie Emerson, is a former Vietnam era MK4 practice bomb standing just over seven feet tall. Converted into an art piece, there are over 900 poems from all over the world inside of her. The journey/performance was created to foster civil disagreements. Since returning home in 2010, Elsie has rested very comfortably next to the bar inside his apartment waiting to sing the song of the open road once again.

- In the early 2000's taught an acting class that included such students as Evans Forde , Joel McDonell , Zahn McClarnon , and Autumn de Wilde.
- Toured the U.S. and Canada with poetry/performance ensembles The Lost Tribe (1984-1992), White Trash Apocalypse (1995-1997) and The Carma Bums (1989-2009). The Carma Bums are considered the first poets to create an interactive poetry website (The Carma Bums International Superhighway Tour of Words) under the auspices of The University of Washington at Seattle. The website included sound files, hyper-links and graphic images created exclusively for their website. It was on the University of Washington server from 1994-1995, then at University of Southern California from 1995-1997.
