The episode of The Best of the Worst focusing on Freddy Krueger was written, narrated, and edited by Mike Holtz.
You wanna know what makes Freddy Krueger so scary? I mean, other than his obvious need to moisturize? He’s unavoidable. As unavoidable as death, taxes and Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce news stories. All he needs to be able to heinously take you out is for you to eventually sleep… and everyone sleeps. Everyone also poops but they haven’t made that movie yet. Just a really well marketed children’s book. See, you can physically escape Michael Myers. Hell, the guy can’t even run! He power walks. Like your grandparents in the mall before the shops open in the morning. You can escape Jason Voorhees by simply wearing his dead mom’s clothing and bossing him around. Some people would just call that a nice Friday night in.

This article contains mild The New Mutants spoilers.
The New Mutants is an odd duck. The writing was on the wall back in 2017 when 20th Century Fox first pushed the film off its original 2018 release window. Apparently the delay was the result of the studio wanting to make it more of a horror movie via reshoots… reshoots that then never happened.
Even so, those horror elements are still on bonkers display in Josh Boone’s final cut of the film, now available on Blu-ray and VOD. Even without knowing Boone was vocal that the Nightmare on Elm Street movies were cornerstone influences, it’s clear his mutant mayhem wants to live on the same block.
To be sure, these aspects are more muted than they should be, which is the result of the film’s biggest problem: tonal inconsistency. New Mutants veers wildly between young adult drama, youthful hijinks, and...

Stars: Bradley Gregg, Traci Lind, Malcolm McDowell, Pam Grier, John P. Ryan, Stacy Keach, Patrick Kilpatrick | Written by C. Courtney Joyner | Directed by Mark L. Lester
Ever wondered what Mark L. Lester did after Commando? Well, he directed a terrible John Candy comedy called Armed and Dangerous. But then he made this bizarre mashup of Escape from New York, The Warriors and Robocop. It’s not as good as it sounds, but like Arnie’s finest 84 minutes, it’s a barrel of stupid fun – and it’s another Vestron “classic” wrenched from the archives and given a remaster we never expected.
In 1999, youth gang culture is so prevalent that all major conurbations have become “free fire zones”, meaning there is no police presence. They’re essentially lawless. The result is that all the youngsters in 1999 wear S&M leather and wield automatic weaponry. It’s not clear where they get all the ammo and bazookas.

"Do as I say, or we're both dead." Momentum Pictures has debuted a trailer for a new action comedy titled Welcome to Acapulco, made by Cuban filmmaker Guillermo Iván. The tropical crime plot involves a kid who ends up in landing Acapulco, Mexico instead of New Mexico. As soon as he lands, he finds himself on the run from high-powered criminals, deadly hitmen and the Feds, all looking for a mysterious package that he has allegedly smuggled through customs yet knows nothing about. Mike Kingsbaker stars as Matt Booth, and the cast includes Michael Madsen, William Baldwin, Bradley Gregg, Ana Serradilla, Ana Layevska, Zach Rose, Guillermo Garcia, Maria Elena Heredia, and Loris Curci. This looks ridiculous (and we've seen before anyway) but entertaining. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Guillermo Iván's Welcome to Acapulco, from YouTube: Video game designer Matt Booth has one shot to save his career...

Some subgenres see pretty clear divides run down their middle according to certain criteria. One is the buddy comedy, where depending on the film’s intent to target male or female audiences, there will be a pretty safe difference in the kind of comedy used. Look at Dumb and Dumber and Clueless, each one caters safely to one gender or the other, though both films can arguably be enjoyed by both. Then you have the coming of age drama where this divide persists. Again you have a great parallel between Stand by Me and Now & Then, stories about revisiting a key point in youth. As a guy, I may be somewhat biased, but for my money both Dumb and Dumber and Stand by Me win in their respective categories by miles; Stand by Me however is miles ahead of its counterpart and stands up to the test of time in many ways.

He's been in the Emmy-winning series Generation Kill, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and now Kellan Lutz will appear in Cedars of Lebanon. According to The Wrap, Lutz has just recently signed on for the film - which will mark the directorial debut of Bradley Gregg - as one "of two brothers who are largely abandoned by their father and forced to grow up by themselves." Cinema Blend is referring to the film as a "family drama." Gregg's company, Eventide Fields, is recounting the storyline as follows: "Cedars of Lebanon" is a bittersweet tale of redemption, the story of Barry Deutchman’s ride upon the wave of his narcissistic father’s abandonment. Growing up in the San Fernando Valley during the 70's, this latch key kid s ...

Amidst all the Twilight Saga: New Moon hype, Kellan Lutz decides to shed his fangs for his next project. As reported by The Wrap, Lutz will star in the family drama Cedars of Lebanon, where Bradley Gregg, who you might remember as Eyeball Chambers from Stand By Me, makes his directorial début. Lutz will play one of two brothers abandoned by their father and left to grow up on their own. Lutz is one of a handful of actors experiencing instant fame thanks to the world.s obsession with glittery vampires. He can enjoy his newfound stardom for now, but the Twilight Saga has to end at some point and it.ll be vital for Lutz to establish himself as a serious actor before that day comes. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart may never re-emerge from the bland and lifeless holes they.ve dug with their characters, Bella Swan ...

Freddy (Robert Englund exclusively, as of now) Krueger is one of horrors most iconic figures. The hideous past, the hideous face, the easily anticipated, but humorous one-liners, they’ve all helped to create a star that continues to shine today. But the best attribute Freddy possesses is an uncanny ability to manufacture creative and grizzly methods of victim disposal.
Examine a few other long running franchises, and really evaluate the quality of their sequels. The majority lose all fear factor, and loads of appeal to boot. This happens because the lines of creativity gradually disappear. We know that Michael Myers will wield his kitchen knife until the final moment of the final reel on Halloween night. We know that Jason Voorhees will celebrate every Friday The 13th with a machete. Pinhead’s going to pull out the whips and chains, Leatherface will snatch the chainsaw and the cycle will run…...

Review by Alex Dorn There are so many fantastic things about “Class of 1999” (1990) that it’s hard for me to know where to start. I’m gonna guess that this is it’s first time on DVD, and I recommend it wholeheartedly! The year, of course, is 1999, and all inner cities have become so violent that they have been abandoned by the police and are “free fire” zones completely run by street gangs. In the middle of these zones, are high schools, and for some amazing reason, all the gang members go to these schools during the day. Incredibly, these schools have discipline problems. What better solution than to hire robot teachers that will kill all the misbehaving students with extreme prejudice at the slightest provocation? Bradley Gregg stars as Cody Culp, an ex member of the gang “the Blackhearts” on parole and ready to go straight. He returns home...
