"The filmmakers respectfully ask the media to not discuss the film's ending" is a sentence included in the press notes for Luke LoCurcio's twelve-minute short "Aphasia." Now since aphasia means the sudden inability to communicate, whether through speech, writing, or even sign language, while not losing one's intelligence, and there's only one main character in the film, unless you can't put 6 and 7.2359 together and come up with 13.2359, you will probably have already guessed the finale. If not, I have no doubt you watched Titanic and was caught off guard that a ship sinks and Leo dies. You probably also pondered why Frozen isn't set in Miami Beach.

Anyone that's ever played a multiplayer match in, say, a "Halo" game can tell you that split-second decisions mean the difference between success and failure. Turns out that the skills they've been using in Capture-the-Flag matches and Firefight showdowns have real-world benefits, too.
Findings from a University of Rochester study indicate that people who play lots of action games "develop a heightened sensitivity to what is going on around them." Cognitive scientists and authors of the study Daphne Bavelier, Alexandre Pouget, and C. Shawn Green determined that such gamers' brains collect sensory data more efficiently. From the University of Richester press release:
The researchers tested dozens of 18- to 25-year-olds who were not ordinarily video game players. They split the subjects into two groups. One group played 50 hours of the fast-paced action video games "Call of Duty 2" and "Unreal Tournament," and the other group played 50 hours of the slow-moving strategy...

The Nintendo World Store played host to the launch of “The Bigs 2″ on the Wii, and invited a couple New York Mets to take on the fans in some over-the-top arcade baseball zaniness. Mike Pelfrey (Pitcher, 6-3, 4.26 Era) and Alex Cora (Second Base/Shortstop, BA .259, 11 RBIs) were in attendance, and while Cora admitted to having an Atari (model unknown) growing up, Pelfrey is much more of a day-to-day gamer:
“I’ve always had time for baseball and I’ve always had time for video games. A whole bunch of guys [on the team] play ‘Call of Duty: World at War.’ We mess around on that and have fun. We play a mode called ‘Zombies.’
“[Ryan] Church is pretty good. John Maine plays. Bobby Parnell, Shawn Green, Brian Schneider plays.”
Earlier in the day, Pelfrey was spotted playing as Johan Santana in “The Bigs 2.” Is he not happy with his stats in the game? Pelfrey...
