No reason was given for Sriraman’s decision to step down. It comes as the service, which is jointly operated by BBC Studios and ITV, hit 1.5M subscribers.
She has been President and CEO of the company since February 2017, having previously been EVP Franchise and Digital Enterprises at BBC Studios – Americas.
Sriraman was responsible for commissioning and executive producing several shows for the service, including The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco with Rachel Stirling and Julie Graham, and There She Goes, starring David Tennant and Jessica Hynes.

Whatever you felt about Doctor Who season 11, you have to admit that “The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos” was a very weak finale, with the lack of story arc that year and lackluster plotting of the last episode meaning the run ended on a whimper rather than a bang. Season 12 has sported much more serialized storytelling, however, dropping some major twists along the way that have promised a huge, shocking conclusion. The fact that the final story was a two-parter also added to the hype. All this is to say that I had high hopes going into “Ascension of the Cybermen,” but unfortunately I found it rather underwhelming – though it was by no means a failure.
Following on from last week’s “The Haunting of Villa Diodati,” which introduced Ashad the Lone Cyberman from the future, this episode kicks off with the Tardis team arriving in said future – a dark...

With eight episodes behind us, Doctor Who season 12 reaches the first half of its two-part finale this weekend. Although technically, it’s a three-parter, as the last episode, “The Haunting of Villa Diodati,” reintroduced the Cybermen into the show and set up a Terminator-like plot about a Lone Cyberman traveling back into the past to avert the metal race’s destruction in a war with humanity in the future.
The Doctor and her friends will travel to this war-torn future in this week’s installment, “The Ascension of the Cybermen,” and today, the BBC have released a batch of promo images which tease what’s in store for the Tardis team in the penultimate episode. Chiefly, it looks like the Time Lord (Jodie Whittaker), Yaz (Mandip Gill), Ryan (Tosin Cole) and Graham (Bradley Walsh) will get chained up at some point, likely captured by the Cybermen.
Other images, meanwhile, see...

Zdf Enterprises will bring “Queens of Mystery” to a host of markets after striking a rights deal for the offbeat drama that streaming service Acorn TV ordered as one of it latest originals.
The deal with Acorn hands Zdfe the rights to the show in non-English-language territories. It is the second time Zdfe and Acorn have pacted on distribution after they worked together on “London Kills,” another original for the British-content-skewed streamer and which has been picked up by the BBC in the U.K.
Specifically, Zdfe has teamed with Acorn Media Enterprises, the AMC-owned firm’s content division. Its sales unit, Acorn Media International, will sell “Queens of Mystery” in English-language markets.
Olivia Vinall (“Apple Tree Yard”) plays Matilda. Her aunts are played by Julie Graham (“The Bletchley Circle”), Sarah Woodward (“New Blood”), and Siobhan Redmond (“Between the Lines”).

The code-breaking investigators of Britain’s Bletchley Circle are headed to San Francisco for streaming service Britbox’s first original, the first trailer of which was released Monday.
The series is set in the mid-1950s and picks up three years after the end of “The Bletchley Circle,” which went out on PBS in the U.S. The new show follows cryptographers-turned-detectives Jean (Julie Graham) and Millie (Rachel Stirling) as they head to San Francisco to investigate the murder of a friend.
Once in the U.S., the pair teams up with local female code-breakers and tackle an array of mysteries in the Bay Area. BritBox, Omni Films, and World Productions are making the show. The series has four stories, with two hour-long episodes dedicated to each. The trailer sees the team investigating a crime scene in a decrepit house, which they realize is linked to an earlier crime that took place in the U.

Midsomer Murders is back on Acorn DVD with three all-new mysteries that debuted in the UK last year. If you haven’t been keeping up to speed with the long-running drama then you should know that these three stories feature Neil Dudgeon as John Barnaby rather than John Nettles as his cousin Tom. While the identity of the principal investigator has changed fairly recently, it seems like a long, long time since anyone other than Jason Hughes served as the top man’s sidekick. The good news is that Hughes does feature in the these three stories. The bad news is that this is the last you’ll see of him as he left the show in 2013.
Written in the Stars is the first mystery in Midsomer Murders Set 24. As the story begins, the whole community are giddy with excitement about an upcoming solar eclipse.
Midsomer Murders is back on Acorn DVD with three all-new mysteries that debuted in the UK last year. ITV has cancelled its 1950s codebreakers drama, Bletchley Circle...
We may not have covered The Bletchley Circle on this site, but any show whose official Twitter handle is @ladynerds surely falls under the protection of our geek umbrella.
After two short seasons, ITV's women-led 1950s-set codebreakers drama has been cancelled. The series starred Anna Maxwell Martin, Rachel Stirling, Sophie Rundle and Julie Graham as former WWII Bletchley Park codebreakers, using their considerable nous in post-war civilian life to solve crimes.
A four-episode second series of the drama ran earlier this year, and despite it hanging on to an average of 4.9 million viewers each week, ITV appears to have called time on the female investigators. The Twitter response to the cancellation has been characterised by disappointment, with messages displaying quite understandable "There are obviously already too many women geniuses being awesome on TV" frustration.

The Bletchley Circle will not return for a third series, ITV has confirmed.
The period drama, starring Anna Maxwell-Martin, Rachael Stirling and Julie Graham, was set in the early 1950s and focused on four women who worked at the wartime code-breaking centre Bletchley Park.
News of the show's cancellation broke on Twitter, with cast members including Julie Graham encouraging viewers to protest the decision.
ITV has since confirmed to Digital Spy that the series, which launched in 2012, has not been re-commissioned.
A second series of the drama aired earlier this year, with the broadcaster describing The Bletchley Circle as a "wonderful addition to our drama slate" when announcing the new run in May 2013.
ITV's Director of Drama Commissioning Steve November added at the time: "We're delighted that it's returning to ITV with two new and exciting stories."...

Inspector George Gently
The latest batch of George Gently episodes come to DVD on 1 April and you’d be a fool to miss out on this boxset. As you will recall, season five ended with Gently and Bacchus, shot and wounded on the floor of Durham Cathedral. Would they recover? Would they ever work again? Well given that there is a season six I don’t think you can accuse me of releasing a “spoiler” if I tell you that the duo made a full recovery. However, it wasn’t an easy road, especially for Bacchus whose wallowing in self-pity eventually led him down an unhealthy path of booze and gambling. Older and wiser, Gently realized that work was the best therapy and he quickly got back to doing what he does best — solving murders.
Even by George Gently‘s own standards, season six features a lot of introspection as...
