  • English-born star of musical comedy and revue, on Broadway from 1906. Victor Herbert composed an opera, 'The Enchantress', for her in 1911. She also appeared in early silent movies filmed at Ft. Lee, New Jersey. In 1917, she was injured by an exploding smoke bomb during the filming of a battle scene for 'No Man's Land'.
